i put my phone inside the pocket of my sweat shorts while thinking about what paulo said. he must've been joking. i mean, he can't have feelings for me, right? not anymore. i wouldn't want to hurt him.
i sighed while staring at the mesmerizing view infront of me. i couldn't help but remember my dad. we used to scream on top of this hill when we visited this place and my mom would usually just laugh at our silliness. whenever we feel too tired, too happy, or just whenever we want to, we would scream until we sore our throats out and laugh 'til we both feel okay. sometimes, we would just stare at nothing and let ourselves breathe, even for a few moments. then, we would talk about life, our dreams, or he would reprimand me of lots and lots of things, and many more. we let ourselves forget the reality and live in our own fantasy. dad was my safe place, and so is mom. but now, my dad is dead. and my mom? i don't know. i hope she's happy though.
my thoughts were suddenly cut off when i heard a raspy voice from behind me. i turned around and saw justin struggling to get out of our tent. i chuckled before walking to him and helping him get out. such a child.
i greeted, holding him by the arm as he stood up properly. he walked near the edge of the hill, where i stood earlier, and stretched out his limbs.
i stayed meters away from him to secretly take a picture then, i smiled to myself. he's just checking out the view but he looks perfect. HE is the view.
justin asked while rubbing his left eye. i didn't even notice that he's walking towards me already.

i immediately hid my phone in my pocket.
he asked, quirking his eyebrow up.
hindi niya pwedeng makitaaaaa ><
we kept on arguing while justin walks towards me and i take steps backwards to keep away from him.
justin tried to get my phone from my pocket but luckily, i'm quick to move away from him. i laughed at him and ran away while he continued chasing me.
i shouted and stuck out my tongue to him. i stopped running and just faced him from a huge distance between the two of us. i saw how he tries to stifle his laugh and pretends to show an angry face. ang cute, nakakainis.
justin started walking towards me once again but i didn't move away from him anymore. he came closer... and closer... and closer... until he was standing only a foot away from me. he looked me dead in the eyes, trying to taunt me.
is he trying to intimidate me?
i asked, raising one eyebrow up. justin didn't look like he's joking around anymore.
he said and walked away. WHAT??????
i tried calling him but he didn't face me and he just walked straight to our tent.
still no luck.

Ortus
A woman wakes up in a forest, naked, alone, and injured. She has nothing but a strange, black dagger and mysterious, floating, blue boxes to aid her. Can she find food and water? Survive the deadly animals? Escape the forest? Learn about the life-altering magic the boxes provide her? She has to use her wits, her knowledge, and maths to do so. But first, baby steps. She doesn't even understand the language, yet. If you see any maths mistakes or strange story decisions, leave a comment and I will either fix it or consider changing it. This is also, essentially, a first draft. That means I will edit older chapters and nothing is final, including numbers. Any major changes are listed in the changelog below each chapter. Since this is a first draft, the start is noticably bad and inconsistent compared to the more recent chapters so you will have to endure that to get to the good stuff. Rewritten version of Ortus (Old Version)
