Your soulmate is someone you have met before I'm your life that you already have a connection to meeting your soulmate and confirming that the person is your soulmate the mark is shown better so everyone can see and know that you have already met your soulmate
The mark is placed on there arm somewhere faded until you have met your right soulmate
The mark isn't painful or anything it just isn't fully shown until you have confirmed you have seen and found your true soulmate
Once confirming you have become one person meaning if one gets hurt they can feel it, they can also hear each other's thoughts and communicate with each other inside there head
