《Right On The Money Honey - Michael Hardy》ONE

Liz and her best friend, Caleigh pull into the dive bar parking lot. She grins as she slides out of the passenger seat, adjusting her purse strap after fixing her pretty dark brown waves. The two make their way into the bar, their matching grins lighting up the place. The girls sit at a high top table after they order their drinks, laughing between each other.
After a little while of sitting and talking, Liz stands and heads to the jukebox. She slides a dollar into the machine then picks a song, spinning on her heel before she starts swaying and snapping to the beat like no one else is watching. She laughs to herself, grabbing Caleigh's hand to get her to her feet, spinning her in a circle, grinning wider as they dance together.
A couple guys come up to the table, they're cute. One leans against the table with a big handsome smile on his face. "Hey ladies."
Liz chuckles, leaning back in her chair. "Hi."
Caleigh smiles at them. "Hey."
"Can we buy y'all a drink?" He asks, drumming his fingers against the table top.
Caleigh looks over at Liz whose already looking back at her. Liz gives the guys a once over before she nods. "Make it two." She bites her lip as she looks the guy wearing glasses over. "C'mon, join us!" She scoots her chair over and the guys pull up two more chairs after they get their drinks.
The guys, Michael and Cliff, spend hours talking with Liz and Caleigh. Cliff whisks Caleigh back out to the dance floor leaving Liz and Michael by themselves at the table.
"Where're you from?" Liz asks, picking at the label on Cliff's empty beer bottle.
"Mississippi." Michael answers, nodding slightly. "You?"
"Texas."
"Wow. What brings you to Nashville?"
"Just a girls trip. Caleigh flew out to see me and we decided to have a spontaneous road trip." She smiles. "What about you?"
"I write songs for other musicians."
"That's pretty cool! Who's your favorite that you've written for?"
"Oh, I don't got a favorite."
She chuckles, raising her hand at the bartender for another drink. "What's your favorite song that you've written?"
"I don't got a favorite." He repeats, a small blush coloring his dimpled cheeks. "Okay, maybe FGL's Simple. That's a pretty good banger."

"Oh I love that song." She smiles before it falters slightly. "Are you like a celebrity 'round here?"
"Far from it, baby." He laughs, shaking his head. "I like bein' under the radar. It's nice."
"I bet." She smiles at him. Her sight shifts from the dimpled gentleman in front of her to her best friend slow dancing with a handsome cowboy. "They look like they're havin' fun." She looks back at her table mate. "I bet you've got some pretty cool stories, Michael."
"I could talk your ear off, baby."
"I'd love to hear 'em stories." She licks her lips, looking him over again with that flirty look of hers.
"You wanna get outta here?" He boldly asks, knowing he's got nothing to lose if she declines the offer.
Liz looks him over once more. "Sure."
"Liz," Michael mumbles, his large hand rubbing across the girl's back while she has her head resting on his opposite arm, facing away from him. She has so much alcohol in her system that she's just zoinked. "Liz." The two are laying in the bed of his truck a few miles from the smoky dive bar.
"Hm." She hums back, her eyes staying shut.
Michael silently wraps his arm around her middle, pulling her against his chest. She crosses her ankles, letting her boots fall off her feet as she shivers slightly. He reaches behind him and pulls a comforter from out of no where, draping it across the smaller girl.
"That's not a good idea." She mumbles, her eyes starting to her heavy as the warmth from him and the blanket lull her into a peaceful sleep.
They have no idea what time it is or how much has gone by when her cell starts ringing. Liz jumps, scrambling in the bed of his Ford to find her phone. She finally gets it pressed to her ear and answers it. "Hello?"
"Hey! Where are you?" Caleigh shouts into her phone, plugging one ear with a finger to hear her better.
"I'm- uh- out with Michael. What's up?"
"Cliff and I are gonna get something to eat. Just wanted to let you know."
"'Priciate that, Cal. You be careful."
"You be careful too!" She responds then hangs up.
Liz drops her phone and turns on her opposite side to face Michael. "You're a pretty cool guy, Michael."

"Thanks, Liz." He smiles back, brushing his thumb across her flushed cheek to get some hairs unstuck. "What do you do?"
"As far as?"
"A job."
"I work at a pub in Texarkana."
"That's pretty cool."
She snorts. "It really ain't but I love the atmosphere. I practically run the damn thing."
Michael chuckles, looking her over. "You're really beautiful."
"Thanks. So are you." Liz laughs as she turns on her back. "The stars are so pretty here."
Michael keeps his eyes on her. He works up the courage to lean over and kiss her and much to his surprise, she kisses him back. Her hand sneaks to the back of his head as his rests on her cheek.
Suddenly, Liz pushes him back, straddling his waist as she starts working on the buttons of his tropical shirt. She pulls back, her lips red and swollen. "Wait."
"Y'alright?"
She nods, licking her lips, moving off of him. "Sorry, I gotta start takin things slow." She blushes, looking at him. "Didn't mean to, y'know, grab ya like that."
"Did not mind at all, baby." He smiles cheekily, adjusting his hat.
She chuckles, leaning back against the back window of his truck. "Tryna slow down my wild child side." She grins, shooting him a wink.
"Can't be tamed, huh?" He flirts, his hand resting innocently on her thigh. "I like that."
Liz can't help but roll her eyes. "Shut up." She leans over and kisses him, her fingers gripping his jaw. Michael smirks against her lips, his big hands sneaking up her shirt to her waist. Liz moans softly when he starts kissing her neck.
"How much longer are you in town for, darlin?" He asks, sneaking to her jeans to pop the button open. He slips his hand into her panties, his lips still against her neck.
Her eyes flutter shut as she tries to create a coherent sentence while she's being touched this way. Liz hasn't been felt up in months and if she's being honest, she fucking missed it. It's been too damn long since she's been laid and she can feel her virginity start to grow back.
"I- uh- couple more days." She breathes out, biting her lip. "What- uh- what 'bout you?"
He chuckles. "I live here."
She nods distractedly, trying to focus on their conversation but it isn't going too well. She licks her lips, her eyes locking with his as she grabs his wrist, pulling his hand out of her panties.
"The sun is settin'." She says with a small teasing smirk.
Michael can't help but chuckle, dropping his arm around her shoulders, pulling the bunched up bedclothes up their laps.
Liz hums softly, wincing slightly as she rolls on her back. Her legs stretch out under the sheets, taking in a deep breath while sitting up. She looks over and sees a bigger lump asleep next to her. Liz smiles to herself then grabs her cell to check the time.
"Mornin'." Michael mumbles, running his hand through his hair and down his face.
"Hey." She smiles again. "Do you mind givin' me a lift back to my hotel?"
"Sure, yeah. I can do that." He yawns. "You hungry?"
"Oh no, not really." She slips off the dropped tailgate to pick up her boots.
"You sure? We can hit a drive-thru or somethin'."
"I'm fine." She tells him, laughing quietly. Michael nods, sliding his glasses back on his nose before tossing his hat into the cab of his truck.
It's a quiet ride back to the hotel. Michael pulls around to the overhang to drop her off.
"Thank you for everythin'." Liz smiles. "Here." She hands him her phone. "Gimme your number."
His face lights up. "Really?"
"Yeah. C'mon, don't leave me hangin'." She says then laughs, shaking her head. "Please." He takes her phone and makes a new contact, that cute dimpled grin stuck to his face.
There's an annoyed honk behind them and Liz sighs. "We should get somethin' to eat before you leave." He states. "Let me know what your days look like, okay?" She nods then leans over to kiss his cheek. "You're a cool gal, Liz."
"Thanks Michael." She picks up her purse. "I'll talk to you later."
"Okay." He smiles, watching her as she heads inside to the hotel, his heart battering around in his rib cage. This connection he's feeling with this girl is totally real, one that he can't lose. He's got some pretty good game, that's for damn sure.

The Lucky Secret
Five years ago, the Tower appeared in the Arctic circle, and people started to disappear. Not that any of this affected Cillian James, who was too busy keeping the lights on with webnovels he didn't want to write to really concern himself with some omniscient tower kidnapping people at random. That is, until Cillian is kidnapped himself, and now he has some very big problems on his hands. Namely, surviving the Tower and its homicidal salamanders and zombies and weirdly affectionate cats, and learning the truth behind the existence of the amulet titled "The Writer's Secret". Cilian isn't particularly athletic, given he spent six years glued to a computer chair, and the Tower can only give him so much strength before he's considered a lost cause, and he's not prepared in the slightest for this. He's a bit weak, he hates killing, and spends more time screaming than he does actually fighting, but if there's one thing he's got going for him, it's his impressive self-perseveration skills. But is surviving truly enough, if it changes you into someone you don't recognize? How much will he have to sacrifice before he can even call himself Cillian?
