《Flower Shops - Morgan Wallen》7

Katie's been getting the cold shoulder from Morgan ever since their first night in Tupelo. She's been spending more time around Riley and less time with Morgan.

It stings.

Is she dating Riley? She might be but it also might just be a tour thing. Y'know, fucking around with someone because they're in close quarters.

Kate sighs as she slides out of her bunk. She doesn't bother with putting her shorts back on because she's the only one up, except for their driver but he keeps the shade closed.

She grabs a probably clean solo cup from the stack on the counter then fills it with tap water from the tiny sink. Kate rubs her eyes as she sits on the couch, balling an abandoned sweatshirt under her head before pulling the Tennessee Titans blanket over herself.

Morgan hears her sneeze from his bunk and pokes his head out, catching a glimpse of the soft light emitting from her phone. She's probably texting Riley. He rolls his eyes at the thought as he gets to his feet, not bothering with a shirt.

"What're you doin' up?" He asks in a low voice, scratching his abdomen.

"Couldn't get comfy." She shrugs back. "Why're you up?"

"You woke me up." He picks her feet up, sits next to her then sets her feet back down on his lap.

"What's been goin' on with you, Morgan? You've been an asshole to me."

He rolls his eyes. "Why does everythin' have to do with you?"

"Because it feels like it's aimed at me! What the hell did I do!?"

"Keep your damn voice down." He hisses back. She scoffs and shakes her head. "It's none of your business."

"Oh, bite me." She spits back, sitting up with her legs crossed. "What the fuck crawled up your ass?"

He clenches his jaw and Kate bites her lip. He's an absolute jerk when he's mad but fuck, he looks so good.

She suddenly grabs the back of his head and kisses him, moving herself so she's straddling his lap. He grips her thighs so tight she's for sure going to have bruises later. She grabs a fistful of his hair and pulls, eliciting a deep moan from his throat.

Morgan wraps an arm around her waist and practically throws her on her back, pinning her against the couch. His hand wraps around her throat as he kisses her, his other borderline forcing itself between her welcoming thighs. She bites his lip and he fucking moans.

Katie shoves him back, landing on top of him, her hand going his throat as she kisses him, just like he did. She smacks his chest before quickly getting to her feet.

"Fuck- woah." She breathes, running her hand over her face and through her hair.

Morgan pants, looking up at her from the couch. He sits up and leans his elbows on his knees. "Are you and Riley together?"

She licks her lips as she looks at him. "It's none of your business." She grabs her phone from the couch then returns to her bunk, her heart assaulting her ribcage

Morgan's hands turn into fists as he sits, biting the insides of his cheeks. He takes a deep breath then pushes a hand through his messy hair. He stands and starts pacing.

Is she actually dating Riley?

Are they fucking around?

Is this a tour thing?

Have they had sex?

Of course they had sex. He was on the other side of the wall in that hotel in Tupelo. He heard everything.

He's upset but he has no reason to be. It's not like they ever got back together. They only fucked a few times and that's it.

That's it...

He huffs as he sits back down. He has to figure out what the fuck she is to him.

Kate sighs happily as she climbs under the sheets- her bedsheets. She missed her bed.

"I hope you're hungry." Riley says after he lets himself into her house. He makes his way to her bedroom with a pizza box in his hands. "Only the best for the best."

She giggles quietly as she sits up, moving the pillows around. He sits next to her, handing her a new napkins before opening the box.

"You spoil me, Riley Green." She mumbles around a mouthful.

"Sexy." He teases.

Kate laughs, turning a random tv show on. They've been practically inseparable since tour ended. He spends the night a few times a week.

She's really enjoying it.

Riley leans over and kisses her cheek then lays back against the pillows. Just as she straddles his lap, the door bell goes off.

"What the fuck?" She huffs and gets off him.

She furrows her brows when she sees an unmarked minivan parked in her driveway. She cautiously opens the door.

"Can I help you?"

"I got flowers for a Miss Katie Hurst." The woman says, holding a vase of violets.

"Oh, uh, thanks." She awkwardly takes them from her then shuts the door.

"Who's that from?" Riley asks, leaning against the wall. Kate just noticed that he's wearing sweatpants and a Jacksonville State t-shirt.

She sets the vase down and looks at the white card stick out of the blooms. She scowls at the words written on it.

"My dad." She lies, pocketing the card. "Congratulating me on the tour."

"Are you-"

Kate cuts him off with a hand fisted in his shirt, pushing him back against the wall. He lets out a sultry laugh, looking down at her with a smirk. The look she gives him as him grabbing her by the back of her thighs, lifting her on the kitchen table.

Her head tilts to the side as he starts kissing her neck. She's trying to keep her mind focused on Riley and what he's doing and not on the guy who sent her the flowers.

She's not going through this again; ex boyfriend on her mind while hooking up with another guy.

But it happens again.

"Where are you?" Michael asks into his phone. "I thought we had a meetin' at noon today."

"Hang on." Kate sighs and looks through her phone. "No, it's at two today."

"Ah, shit. My bad." He shakes his head. "Sorry. I'll see you at two." She pulls a face when he hangs up. He's usually calm and collected but he seems pretty frazzled.

"What's that face for?" Riley asks, sitting next to his girlfriend at Honky Tonk Central.

"Just work stuff." She responds, rubbing her face. "Thanks for meetin' me for lunch."

"Of course." He smiles back, his arm resting on the back of her chair. "How's work been goin'?"

"I got a meetin' with Michael for his new project." She takes a drink of her iced tea. "What about you? You got anythin' goin' on at the studio?"

He blushes. "I wrote a song about you- well, inspired by you."

"Really?"

"Yeah. Come by later and you can listen to it."

"What if you just," She leans over and brushes her fingers across the top of his hand. "Tell me a little bit about it?" He quickly becomes visibly flustered.

She's partially aware of the effect she has on him- and Morgan. She's one of those girls that can make a grown man drop to his knees at a simple smile.

"Just come by the studio. I'll- I'll- I'll give you a sneak peek." She giggles and pulls away, taking a bite of her sandwich. She can feel his eyes on her. They've been together for several months now and he's feeling something he's never felt before.

"I gotta get back to work, babe." Kate sighs. "Thank you so much for lunch, Ri."

"Yeah, no problem, Katie." He smiles back, standing. "I'll see you later."

She grins and kisses him. She can't bring herself to pull away from him when his hands slide to her waist. Riley knows what he's doing. They have the same affect on each other.

Are they falling in love?

It's been a short amount of time but it feels right. Maybe Riley is the one for her.
