《Marvel One-Shots》Better than Coffee for a Wake-Up

It was currently four am in the Avengers Tower, and all were asleep but one. You guessed it, Tony Stark. To this man, four in the morning was coffee time, as well as six, eight, and all day. He'd been working in the shop all night trying to sneak another tracker into his kid's suit. 'His kid, wonder when that thought came in', Tony thought to himself while holding back a small laugh.
He got up (for once), and left to the kitchen to grab his second cup of coffee that morning. He just needed it, it was his way of waking up in the morning, considering he really didn't sleep.
"All right, let's get this coffee ready" Tony spoke to himself. He turned on the machine and went to grab a mug when he saw his kid staring down at him from the roof with glazed eyes. "Oh MY GODS Peter, what the heck?!?" Tony yelled as he stumbled backward into the chair. Peter didn't answer, just stared at him. "Kid, what the he-" he stopped as Peter hit the ground with a thud and didn't move.
That put him into parent mode, what if Peter was dying, or he was really sick and he was just a bad dad to not notice.. he stopped as Peter made a soft moan and rolled over, obviously asleep. "Oh.. um.. what.. how did you get here," Tony said to himself. He picked up the kid bridal style, now awake without his coffee and left for Peter's room.
This was the hard part. Peter had a death grip when he was asleep, so no matter how hard he tried, Peter didn't let go. Tony took Peter's hand in his and slowly pried the kid's hand off his own. Just as he was walking away he heard Peter's voice.

"Dad... please don't leave. I...I don't want to be alone again."
Tony just stared at the young spider in shock, he's never been called dad. But he couldn't leave now. Peter's puppy dog eyes were staring into his own and he can't say no to that. He slowly climbed into the teen's bed and watched with a smile as Peter lay his head against Tony's chest.
'The kid has been through too much, with the Vulture a few months ago, and May's unexpected death, the kid had nowhere to go.'
Tony remembered bringing Peter to the tower. He had been quiet and pushed Tony away, but when he learned he had a huge family that loved him no matter what, he knew that he could be happy again. Tony smiled as the Avengers were all wrapped around Peter's finger on the first day.
He knew he wouldn't be getting up anytime soon, so he got comfortable and fell asleep with his son in his arms.

Natasha had gotten up around six am, and expected to see Stark sitting at the table on his fourth cup of coffee for the day. When she didn't see him, she decided to look around for the man.
Her heart warmed when she saw Stark holding Peter in his arms, asleep.
"Friday? Please take a photo of this." She asked
"I already have Ms. Romanoff." the AI replied.
Of course, she did. Friday knew that Stark needed the sleep and Peter was his way of being happy. Natasha hasn't seen this much happiness in the tower since Peter came. She smiled one more time and left. When she entered the kitchen, she took Stark's coffee machine and threw it out. He had a new way of waking up.

Fragments of Glass
before the 1939-1945 War, most churches in England had stained glass windows, but despite local people's best efforts many of these windows were smashed in the bombing. What could be repaired was repaired, but in many churches all they could do was reassemble the remaining fragments randomly, with extra bits of clear glass added to eke them out to fill the windows. That is what I imagined for my collection of short stories: fragments of stained glass, bits of robe, bits of faces, all sorts of odds and ends randomly stuck together. And with quite a lot of clear fragments among the coloured ones. Just broken pieces of stories that anyone can look through.

The Dangers of a Double Life
Arthur Tracz is an IT technician, a loving husband and excellent friend. Aoife Brosnan is a courier, good daughter, and a volunteer. Gary White is a detective, ex-husband, and a father. They appear to be your average citizens, yet they harbour secrets some of which are so dark that if they were to be revealed they would end up on the top of the news on the international level. These people have no connection to each other, yet their double lives will lead to their fates interweaving. Their lives will never be the same. That is... if they survive. This story was originally supposed to be game, but due to me working on more important project and because most likely I would never have time and funds to do it. I decided to write it as a book which gives me more options in pursuing its narrative. Chapters will be released one a week, Sunday, 14 am CET.
