"Young Lady Yun Xie. Please wake up, Lord Yun is at your place. He wishes to see you." A maid in a pink maid's uniform suddenly came in a pink room full of cute and pink stuff toys. The maid seemed to wake someone up, though no one answered.

(A/Nonsense: How many 'pink' are there, again?)

"Young Lady Yun Xie." The maid walked towards the huge king sized pink canopy bed. Seeing the person lying still didn't move an inch made her a bit irritated.

Wearing the pink fluffy gloves put above Yun Xie's bedside table, the maid patted her(YX), not too light and not too strong. "Young Lady."

"You zombies still dare wake me up even in my sleep—Huh? Where's my gun? How about my sword? Huuuh?" The maid stared stupidly at Yun Xie's reaction, stupefied. Was the Young Lady still dreaming?

Trying hard not to laugh, the maid stated, "I am sorry to wake the Young Lady. But the Lord is downstairs, waiting for you."

"...I see. Get out, I'll go down later." The maid was once again stupefied because of Yun Xie's cold remark. Wasn't Young Lady Yun Xie a very bubbly and adorable person? Is she perhaps facing break up problems right now? The maid can't help think different causes but could just swallow* them.

(*Not literally 'swallow' but it is an idiom that means something like 'she just kept it to herself instead')

"Young Lady Yun—"

"Did you not understand what I said?" With a cold glance, Yun Xie made the maid tremble out of fear. Her(maid) face turned pale because of fright, then red because of the pent up anger. It then silently bowed a bit and then rushed outside.

Finally alone in her own room, Yun Xie cursed. Why was it like this? By now, she should be dead! Fuck that Lord Yun, fuck that so-called parents of hers, fuck all the members of her so-called family! They clearly pushed her out of their base to buy time for them to escape!

And now, she is here inside her room alive and can still kick, like the apocalypse never happened. What was the meaning of this?

[Mistress, please be calm first]

Somehow, Yun Xie finally thought she is crazy. First, she is hallucinating that she was still in her own bedroom like the apocalypse never happened. And then she is now hearing voices out of nowhere.

[Can you be a little sensible, Mistress? Didn't you ever think of the option about having been picked by an almighty system?]

"Alright, I'm definitely a hundred percent out of my mind. I didn't think I'd actually go insane." Yun Xie massaged her temples and slowly inhaled and exhaled.

[Mistress, please don't think you turned crazy. The voice you're hearing is from me, the only and most amazing system]

Well, since she(YX) is crazy, she can just talk with this voice inside her mind. "What system. You're clearly just my hallucination." Yun Xie flatly stated and ran towards the bed. "Ah, even if this is an illusion, the bed still feels so good."

[This is a form of abandoning your contracted system, Mistress]

"What the hell is this annoying system?!" Yun Xie's pent up irritation bursted out as she sat up from lying down in her bed. Her posture was great when sitting. Coupled with her graceful but menacing aura, she was like a boss scolding its minion.

[You are an annoying system! Your whole family is an annoying system!]

And thus, a cold war silently began between the two. There were no voices that can be heard and so Yun Xie sighed a sigh of relief.

She started pondering. On her bedside table where things like a pink lamp and a pair of fluffy pink gloves were put was also her phone lying around. She picked it up and looked at the time and date.

January 01, 2020. 2:05pm.

This was way back 10 years ago, 6 months before the outbreak. Is this that something called 'rebirth'?

[Yes it is, Mistress. You were very lucky that I caught you on time, or else you would really die!]

"Who said you can talk?"

[Who said I can't talk, Mistress?]

"..." Yun Xie pondered over the words this voice within her mind had said. She cannot refute back so all she could do was think of a logical reason, but the result was nothing. Yun Xie gave up on the idea of thinking any more reason. She's having the actual experience, why not believe it?

[Mistress, you have finally accepted it! Then our contract is complete! You may now know your status!]

Yun Xie's brows furrowed as she was again using her brain over this hallucination's words. She can't seem to grasp and hold its meaning. "Explain yourself first. I can't understand anything you say."

[Hello, Mistress. I am your contracted system. We started our contract that day when you were pushed out of the base by your parents. When your family was out of sight, before the zombies could devour you, I made you go back in time so that we can finish our contract. You see, Mistress, you were the only one capable and compatible to be my Mistress, so I saved you back then. We finished our contract earlier when you accepted reality. And since you have full access on me, the system, then that means you can see your status and have access to some other things like your inventory, the shop, and my dimension]

Yun Xie absorbed all she could from her system's words. She could only nod her head.

"Seems like I need to start preparing."
