(Y/n)'s POV

We all stand in the homestead ready to discuss our findings from the maze. Gally stands as far away from Thomas as he can manage while I stand behind him, it put an obvious distance between us. Although I knew that no matter what I'd be with Gally this was a huge issue between us. I think I even love-

"We found this, it was inside a griever," Thomas tells Newt handing him the device Minho had pulled out of one of the griever's organs. "These are the same letter we have on our supplies," Newt states his eyes flickering back up after inspecting the device. "Yes, whoever put us here obviously made the grievers. Now, this is the first real clue the first anything you've found in a year, right Minho?" Thomas asks "right," Minho agrees.

"Newt we've got to go back out there, who knows what this might lead us," Thomas protested urging Newt to let him back in the maze. Gally and Newt exchange a look "You see what he's trying to do right?" Gally asks looking between Newt and me "first he breaks the rules, and then he tries to convince us to abandon them completely. The rules are the only thing that has ever kept us together. Why now are we abandoning them! If Alby was here you'd know he'd agree with me. This shank needs to be punished," he says gesturing to Thomas with a glare in his eyes.

Newt is silent for a moment and I know he doesn't enjoy this rule as the leader, and he had hoped he'd never need to step in. Newt steps forward and hands Minho back the device "you're right, Thomas broke the rules, one night in the pit without food," Newt states leaning his head back against the post. "Come on Newt! One night in the pit? You think that's going to stop him from going back into the maze?" Gally shouts angered by the small punishment.

"No, and we can't have non-runners running into the maze whenever they feel like it, so let's make it official. Starting tomorrow you're a runner," Newt says to Thomas causing Gally to scoff "Wow," he states as he marches out of the homestead Fry puts an arm out to him "Gally," he starts "no, Fry," Gally says continuing on his way out. I sigh and follow after him "Gally!" I called out trying to get him to listen to reason.

Gally doesn't stop and I have to jog forward to get in front of him. "Hey, don't just walk away from me," I tell him looking up at him but he avoids my eyes "Why? Why should I listen to you tell me that I'm wrong and that Thomas isn't destroying everything we've built! You can't tell me everything is just coincidence (Y/n)!" he shouts at me causing me to stiffen and step back away from him unsure of what he might do. 

Gally and I fought all the time before we started dating, but never has he yelled at me like this. "Gally," I say putting my arm on his shoulder but he shoves it off aggressively "just leave me alone right now (Y/n)," he tells me walking away from me causing hurt to barrel deep in my chest. I fiddle with the bracelet around my wrist the one he made for me, and it just intensified the pain I felt.

I try to pull myself out of the pit of self-pity I felt. Gally will see that this is a good thing we can get out of here, we'll get out of here together and everything will be okay. I just want things to be okay... I think as I feel a sharp knife barely touch my back. "Come with me," I hear a female voice say "glad to see you're awake," I say sarcastically as she ushers me towards the tower.

"Hey!" I hear Fry call out bringing the other glader's attention to the hostage situation I find myself in. "Hey calm down!" Gally shouts at the girl who has the knife to me "Climb!" she orders me pointing the knife at me again. I'm not an idiot so I do and she is quick behind me, and when we get to the top she instructs me to sit over the hatch. "Leave me alone!" she shouts throwing things over the side of the tower to hit the gladers down below shouting at her.

"Listen we can talk," I tell her she glares at me suspiciously and continues to throw things trying to make the gladers disband "or not," I say watching her "will you talk to Thomas?" I ask and she goes quiet and nods "She'll talk to Thomas!" I shout out to the boys. "Okay! I'm coming up," Thomas calls out making his way up the ladders. The girl pulls me close and presses the knife to my throat lightly, not enough to hurt or draw blood. Just enough to scare Thomas into submission.

This is shaping up to be a great day for me I think feeling the cold metal touch my throat.
