《The Wedding In Miami》Miami Beach

I woke up to a pounding head, with no memory of last night.
"Ow, ow, ow" I cried while stuffing my face into my pillow. I reached out to the nightstand and moved my hand around aimlessly till it stopped at a bottle. A pill bottle. I am very confused. I pulled my head up and looked at it in my hands.
"Advil?" I mumbled to myself.
There's only one person who leaves me Advil for my hangover mornings.
Why were you here Nick?
I groaned and grabbed the water, popping the pill before rubbing my eyes, freezing when I realized I probably just smeared mascara all over my face. I pinched my eyelashes but no. Nothing.
Did he take care of me and tuck me in?
I ran my fingers through my hair and that too was now in a ponytail.
What the hell?
I looked down at my clothes and I was still in the dress. Thank god.
I slowly got out of bed and went to the bathroom where I brushed my teeth and washed my face. While I was doing that, my house phone rang. "Hello?" I picked up.
It was William. "Hi, Emma?" he questioned.
"Yeah," I said.
"We're heading over to Miami Beach for the day, we'll meet you at breakfast, just bring a beach bag with you, okay?" he asked.
"Are you calling everyone to tell them this?" I chuckled.
"I am, and so are my parents," he chuckled.
"See you at breakfast," I said before hanging up. If we're going to the beach then I will shower once we get back. I grabbed a different bikini than yesterday's and began packing up my beach bag.
Sunblock, sunglasses, and a towel. I grabbed a tank top and shorts to wear over my bikini and went and changed, throwing my hair up in a bun before applying sunblock all over myself before pulling on flip flops and heading down to breakfast. As expected, the whole floor was in chaos.
There were a bunch of people going into their rooms, coming out of their rooms, going into the elevators, laughing, talking. It was intimidating. I turned the corner to the elevator and it was fairly crowded.

"Fifty-seven floors. How bad can it be?" I asked myself before taking the stairs.
Bad. Very bad.
And I was just going down, imagine going up fifty-seven floors. I slowed down but kept walking when I saw Nick coming up the stairs. He was running. I'm on the twentieth floor.
"Why are you running?" I asked in confusion.
"I left my key upstairs. I think," he said, only slightly out of breath while he itched his forehead, his phone in his hand.
"Nick," I cleared my throat.
"Yeah?" he asked.
"Your key is in your phone case," I mumbled. He sighed while looking at it, cursing.
"Fuck," he bent over and sat down. "I ran twenty floors for this?" he looked at it.
"Have fun running down twenty more," I smiled before walking past him.
"Well then, I'll just join you and keep you company," he caught up and walked beside me.
"Were you really gonna walk up fifty-seven floors?" I asked.
"Yeah," he shrugged nonchalantly.
Only he can say that.
I pondered over my words before speaking, "Did you take me to my room last night?" I questioned hesitantly.
He shrugged, "No, why?" he asked.
Then who was it?
I looked at him and I kept looking until we reached downstairs.
"Are you just gonna keep staring?" he questioned.
It was him.
"Sorry," I mumbled before we entered the food hall, and parted ways, him joining his family, me joining mine. I sat with my parents for breakfast and met Zoey at the buffet.
"Hey," she said.
"Hey, Zo," I cleared my throat, "Do you know who took me to my room last night?" I questioned.
"I have no idea, Liam maybe?" she guessed.
It wasn't Liam, he was just as hammered as I was.
"Okay, nevermind," I shrugged it off and we went back to our tables. As people began finishing with breakfast, they began getting in cars and going to the beach. Some calling Ubers, some catching cabs, some hotel cars.
I met Zoey, Liam, Landon, and Nick in the lobby. Madeline and William were there too.

"All right, we'll see you all there," William and Madeline left.
"We're sharing a ride?" Liam asked.
"Yup, I'm driving," Nick dangled the keys in our face. We all followed him out and got seated. Landon sat in the front with him, Zoey sat at the back, I sat in the middle, and Liam was to my right. "It's twenty minutes, everyone got everything they need?" he asked while turning around.
I didn't answer him but Zo and Liam nodded so we all buckled up and he began driving. Zoey was listening to her own music and Landon was staring out the window while I talked to Liam.
"I like your bracelet," he complimented.
"Thanks, it was a gift," I smiled. It was from Nick. I'm not sure how he hasn't noticed that I still wear it. It's a silver chain bracelet with a heart hanging off, it's from Tiffany and Co. and it was expensive, so I'm not dumb to throw it away. Plus I kinda like it.
"From who?" he questioned.
"Somebody, I got it on Valentine's," I shrugged. I looked in front and Nick's eyes met mine in the rearview mirror and he lost control of the steering for a split second and everyone was very aware that he was eavesdropping in on my conversation with Liam.
Everyone ignored each other for the rest of the ride and when we finally got there, we all jumped out, eager for air.
I walked to the sun loungers with Zoey and we too were just walking in silence. "It's the one he gave you, isn't it?" she asked as we sat down.
"Yeah, it is," I sighed while staring out at the water.
"Shouldn't you take it off, Emma?" she asked.
"I'm not taking it off, it's a waste of money if I do," I shook my head. "I'll give it back to him," I shrugged.
"You what?" she asked in shock.
"Yeah, I'll just give it back to him," I repeated.
I don't want it, I can't want it.
-----
Currently, we were splitting into teams for volleyball and we didn't even have a volleyball, we just had a beach ball.
We shuffled around and broke up into four teams. In my team, I had Liam, Will, Nick's dad, and Liam's mom. We were playing against Nick, Zoey, Landon, my mom, and Zoey's dad. My dad and Madeline were referees.
"Nobody hit too hard because if we lose that, the game's over," Madeline laughed.
This weighs as light as a feather, we're definitely losing it.
I sighed and took my sunglasses off my head and tossed them to Madeline.
"Rock, paper, scissors for who starts," Madeline said.
"Who are the captains?" I asked in confusion.
"Nick and Liam, go," my dad waved his hand.
They both stepped us and did rock, paper, scissors. Liam won. "There you go," he tossed me the ball.
I shook my head while laughing before serving the ball over. Landon hit it, then Liam hit it, then Nick hit it and scored. I resisted an eye roll and we continued.
Cut to thirty minutes later, time's up.
"All righty!" Madeline sighed while my dad whistled, silencing our bickering over why their last point didn't count. "After serious discussion," she cleared her throat while my dad eyed both teams like this was a very serious thing. "We have decided to cancel that point, it was a foul, you hit the ball twice, Zoey," Madeline rolled her eyes.
"So the points come down to six, team Nick, and seven, team Liam, we know our winners!" my dad announced.
"Yes!" Liam and I cheered in sync, high-fiving each other before we high-fived Will.
"We call a rematch," Nick huffed.
I rolled my eyes, "Okay, can I sit this one out if he's gonna be crying about it?" I asked Will.
"Unless you're too scared," he smirked.
"We'll play a rematch," Liam shrugged.
Great.
"Anyone willing to take my place?" I asked while drinking water. No one. "Thanks, guys," I smiled at them.
"Can I play?" Elijah stood up from his mom's arms.
"How about you give the points with Madeline?" I asked while picking him up.
He was happy to do so.
It was almost noon and it was hot as hell. I pulled my top over my head and re-tied my hair. "Okay, new referee, everyone," I said while setting him down beside Madeline. I turned around to see Nick and Liam both staring at me. "What?" I asked in confusion.
"Nothing," Liam shook his head.
"Everything," Nick smirked while checking me out.
"Why don't you play the game, Nick?" I huffed, tossing the ball to him, hitting his face.
He glared at me.
"You start."

"I have never done this before." he whispered while cupping her face. "Me too" she said looking at his eyes. "What? You... You have... I thought..." he stammered. Her eyes widened in realization of what he could have thought about her. "Don't tell me you also believed in the rumors our office talking about." she chided at him. "I... I am sorry. It didn't matter to me. And it doesn't matter what your past was. So I didn't take into consideration of other possible ways." he tried to explain his blunder mistake of touching her nerve.
