《Mercy (Pennywise 2017 x Reader) UNFINISHED AND DISCONTINUED》Prologue

Life was odd; very odd. Humans didn't live for that long, unlike some other animals, and yet we had to make the most of everything. You had to survive, thrive and live your life to the best of your abilities.
That was what many people lived by, and that was what parents would tell their children young; get a good education, a good job that paid your bills, get married and have kids, and then grow old and live the rest of your life smoking a pipe and living in the countryside, forgetting about all your troubles.
Something about it all didn't seem fulfilling; like life was more than just achieving the goals that your parents wanted you to do. Life was so short, but there were so many adventures and things that you could do to brighten your path of growing.
When you're a kid, you think you're invincible, you think you can do anything- that nothing can stop you. You come to realise very quickly how strange life can be, and before you know it, life and adulthood has snatched you up and you cannot leave the jaws ever again.
When you grow up, you realise the littlest of things. You understand things more, and you really find out about something that didn't seem possible, and it makes you really feel small. Small that you can't do anything. It makes you feel pathetic, knowing that mortal life is all useless.
Every town and state had their own little quips and troubles, but Derry was unlike any other town. It seemed normal from anyone who came to visit or who was new, but if you stayed long enough, you would soon start to notice more and more problems.
It was unlike any other town. It was old, boring and not much that you could do, apart from when you were growing up. But Derry, Maine, had a lot of history and back story; and if you were brave enough one would delve in to come face to face with true horrors.

You had to be smart to get out as quickly as you could; or else you would be trapped forever. Forever trapped in the claws of trouble, deaths and unsolved mysteries. That was why so many teens left when they had the chance; get out and don't come back.
Don't come back or remember it, for if you ever do and decide to come back, you must be insanely mad. And even if you were a kid growing up in Derry, there were some mysteries that had to be left untold. Some kids weren't as lucky in surviving into adulthood; sometimes it was best to never leave your house or got out.
As you would never be seen again.

Shadows in the Dawn Mist
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] - Winner November 2020 When a young woman is lured back to her homeland for the opportunity of a life time, she must face old fears. But never would she think that facing up to her past would change everything. Is History written by the victors, or by someone or something else...? *** I started writing this a few years ago and eventually fell out of love with it. I never finished it and my newer books are being written in different writing style, and genre with a more planned process. I decided to revisit it for the writathon and found that it wasn't as hopeless as I'd come to think. Hopefully, I've improved as a writer since them so the consistency may vary. Its been good to revisit and analyse my writing which I feel used to have some clunky and obvious dialogue which I'm trying to fix. This will always be my first novel and I hope, with a little exposure, I may come to like it again. Thanks for reading!

Daily life of a cultivation judge
Tired of those cultivators who think it is righteous to eliminate a sect or clan root and stem all in the name of revenge and avoiding future troubles, fights over treasures that end up destroying cities with no consequence whatsoever to the culprit, these psychos whose aim for the peak always involves a trail of carnage and bloodshed in its wake for some reason. Then look no further than the daily life of a cultivation judge. Yang Qing, is a young genius cultivator from a low-tier family whose only safe choice to get resources and hopefully lead an easy life led him to the courts of the Cultivation Order Society. Author’s disclaimer: Hey there this is my first novel so any criticism will be well taken though beware I’m a million-year-old monster who has cultivated the way of the sword to the peak. The daily life of a cultivation judge will be true to its name so it will be heavily on the slice of life lane with a bit of action here and there.Meaning we will see the life of Yang Qing when he clocks in and out. Hopefully, it will be one of those novels you read if you need to relax or are in a slacker mood like one of those otakus who listen to the noises of cicadas in the summer famously used in most animes. And it is in the slacker spirit that chapter release will be on Wednesday,Thursday and Friday. Sank yuuu Cover art by Conny Schneider on Unsplash
