That day changed her life forever.

That day a little 8 years old girl lost her father, her worst nightmare.

That day she found a friend, the only friend that she ever had, even if she saw him only that time.

She was a nice little girl, but often bad things happen to nice people.

She lived alone with her dad in the small town of Derry, and since she was born she has known only the bad side of life.

Her dad was a violent and alcoholic man and often he beated and insulted the little one.

She never knew why he was so mean with her. What did she do to deserve this?

That year Derry was struck by a tragedy.

Many children and teens disappeared and died.

People were scared to go out.

But she was scared to stay inside, because inside her house lived her greatest fear.

And she was too young, too nice, too weak... too scared to fight him.

That day her father was again angry with her, no one knows why, and beated and insulted her.

He threatened the little girl with a kitchen knife.

He often threatened her with dangerous objects, but fortunately he almost never used them.

But until that day he had never used a kitchen knife, she didn't even know they had one so big.

And what we don't know scares us the most.

So the young one ran away from her house, from her prison, terrified that her mad dad could use it against her.

She ran and ran, until she arrived in the forest.

Her father didn't have the energy to stay behind her for too long, so she managed to lose him for a bit.

She didn't realized how far from home she was.

She never went that far, and she knew that in that period was dangerous stay alone, in a forest especially.

She continued to walk anyway and soon it started to rain.

She arrived at what she supposed to be the entrance to the sewers.

She didn't like that place, it was wet, stinky and dark. It was scary.

But for her someone was scarier, so she entered, at least to protect herself from the rain.
