He tried to storm to the room but Abraham held him back.

Abraham "calm down"

Daryl wasn't anywhere near calm. 

I walked to him and put my hands on his chest " hey, come on, calm down. he is old enough to be my grandfather. i am already in a relationship, okay?"

Daryl looked at me and nodded. 

He was trying to calm down.

I nodded at Abraham and he let go of Daryl.

Suddenly a guy walked inside " They're back!"

We walked out.

There stood two men and a woman.

Gregory asked confused " Ethan, what happened to everybody else? Where's Tim and Marsha?"

Ethan " they're dead "

Gregory " Negan?"

Ethan nodded " yeah"

The other man " we had a deal. He said it wasn't enough. Was the drop light?"

Gregory shook his head " no."

Woman " They still have Craig. "

Ethan " they're said they keep hiking alive, return him to us, if I deliver a message to you. "

Gregory nodded " so tell me"

Ethan then stabbed Gregory In the stomach " I'm sorry "

Dad and Michonne pulled him off.

Ethan tried to fight them " get off of me! I had to!"

Dad beat the shit out of him but then his friend came and pushed Dad off Ethan but then Abraham came and pushed the guy off dad. Now Dad was beating Ethan and Abraham was beating the other guy.

Daryl pushed the guy off Abraham and broke the guy's arm. 

Suddenly Dad had a knife on his throat.

My jaw dropped.

Dad to Michonne " drop it"

Then he rammed his knife into the he man's throat . 

dad was getting full of blood.

Then he looked around because people were starring " What?"

Suddenly the other guy yelled " Ethan! You killed him!"

Daryl aimed his gun at him.

Dad " he tried to kill Gregory, then me"

The woman came and punched dad in the face. 

Michonne threw her on the ground " Don't "

Suddenly the other people had pointed shovels at dad.

Guy " drop it!"

Dad pointed his gun at them " I don't think I will".

Jesus ran in between them " Everyone, this is over. It's over. Ethan was our friend but let's not pretend he was anything more than a coward who attacked us. He did this. And these people stopped him."

Dad " what can I do?"

Jesus " put the gun away. You've done enough. You need to know that things aren't as simple as they might seem. Just give me some time"

I kneeled down to Abraham " you good?"

Abraham chuckled " yeah. I'm better than all right. "

Daryl came and helped him up.

We walked back inside and sat down on the office. 

Jesus came and told us that Gregory will make It. 

Me " so, what happens now?"

Jesus " things like that don't usually happen here, but , uh, it's settled. "

Dad " we heard the name Negan. A while back, Daryl, Abraham and Kendall had a run- in with his men. Who is he?"

Jesus took a deep breath" Negan's the head of a group he calls the Saviors. As soon as the walls were built, the Saviors showed up. They met with Gregory on behalf of their boss. They made a lot of demands, even more threats. And he killed one of us... Roy. He was 16 Years old. They beat him to death right in front of us. Said we needed to understand right off the bat. Gregory's not exactly good at confrontation. He's not the leader in would've chosen, but he helped make this place what it is, and the people like him."

Me " he made the deal"

Jesus nodded " half of everything. Our supplies, our crops, our livestock, it goes to the Saviors. "

Glenn " and what do you get in return?"

Me " peace?"

Jesus nodded " They don't attack this place. They don't kill us. "

Daryl asked confused " Why not just kill them?"

Jesus " most of the people here don't even know how to fight, even if we had ammo"

Dad " well, how many people does Negan have?"

Jesus "we don't know. We've seen groups as big as 20. "

Daryl " now, hold up. So, they show up, thy kill a kid, and you give them half of everything? These dicks just got a good story. The bogeyman, he ain't shit. "

Jesus " well, how do you know?"

Abraham " a month ago, we took his guys out PPQ. Left them in pieces and puddles. "

Daryl " You know, we'll do it. If we go get your man back, kill Negan, take out his boys, will you hook us up?. We want food, medicine and one of them cows."

Jesus raised an eyebrow at Dad.

Dad shrugged " confrontations has never been something we've had trouble with."

Jesus " I'll take it to Gregory "

Then he left.

Michonne, Dad, Glenn, Maggie and walked to the balcony.

I stayed inside.

I shook my head.

This is going to cost us something. I know it.

Daryl sat down next to me " you ain't happy?"

I nodded " I am. Believe me. "

Daryl "but?"

Me "But I have a feeling that this kill will cost us something"

Daryl shook his head " it won't. "

They walked back in with Jesus.

Jesus " Gregory wants to talk to you, Kendall"

I raised and eyebrow at him " after what happened earlier? "

Jesus nodded. 

I stood up.

Dad nodded " you got this"

I walked to Jesus.

Jesus " I'm sorry in advance. Gregory can be a real prick"

I nodded " I know"

We walked to his bedroom.

I walked inside.

 Gregory was lying in his bed " They gave me these antibiotics that makes me sensitive to the sunlight. This is agony. It's like somebody's twisting my intestines with a cement mixer. "

Me " could've been worse. You're lucky we were here. Jesus told you about our offer?"

Gregory nodded" he did. What makes you think you can do what we haven't done?"

Me " we've handled people like Negan. "

Gregory asked confused " how?"

Me " we killed them. We can get your man back. "

Gregory " I don't know if Craig's worth the trouble. I mean, it's his brother who did this. "

Me " he did this to save someone he loves. He was afraid. "

Gregory " that makes him weak. Frankly, I don't know if I want him back in our gene pool."

Me " we forgive each other. That makes us stronger."

Gregory shrugged" yeah, I guess. He's a hell of a cook. He makes these amazing baked eggs with green tomatoes. "

Me " You give us supplies, we'll save Craig and take care of Negan and his minions, permanently. "

He laughs " I'm sorry, I find this whole conversation pretty funny. I mean, you balked when I proposed that your people work for our supplies, but now..isn't that exactly what's happening here?"

Me " Negan is a problem for you. Sooner or later is going to be a problem for my community as well. We ain't just saving your little town. Call it work but you have what we want. "

Gregory " Then I'll get supplies for your people. "

I nodded " good. "

Gregory " I'll talk to Jesus and he'll make the arrangements. See, this was fun. Exciting. "

Me " half. "

Gregory froze " excuse me?"

Me " half of what you have. Negan's expecting more supplies from the place. More and more. And if this keeps going like that, pretty soon you won't have anything left. And what will happen then?. Without ammo, without fighters... this place will die. And you'd be a dead man. So half of everything you have right now or the deal's off. You see? I have leverage. "

He groaned and clapped in his hands " congratulations. You have yourself a deal. You want anything else, a Kidney, maybe?"

Me "Your head on a pike but there is indeed something you could give me.."

I smiled.

We were all packing the stuff in the RV.

I had asked for Maggie to do a ultrasound.

We all got into the RV. I sat down.

When they came back we drove back. We took Jesus and the other guy with us. I was sitting next to Daryl. He had his arm around me.

Michonne gave us a picture. It was the ultrasound pic.

I looked at it and smiled. Daryl gave it to Abraham.

I looked at Glenn and he smirked at me. I smirked back.
