《King of the Mountain (Witchfire 2)》AFTERWORD (or AFTER PARTY?)

Guess who just finished reading approximately 102,000 words? That's right, YOU did (presuming you didn't skip a bunch of chapters)! A celebration is in order, because together we reached the completion of the second book I have ever written from start to finish. Thank you for sticking around until the end.

King of the Mountain is a particularly important project to me, as it is a direct adaptation of a story called Ridgeview Werewolves that I initially co-authored with a childhood friend (back in the good old days when I couldn't afford my own snacks, but also didn't have to go to work to pay for them myself). The story ultimately fell by the wayside as my friend and I grew older and parted ways, but after picking it up again as a young adult and rewriting and refining it over the years, I'm proud to have finally approached a point where I can see it finished at a quality that reflects my abilities as a writer today.

It's likely that without this particular childhood friend I would never have become as invested in writing as I am today. Thank you, Emily, for breathing life into my love of this craft. And finally, thank you to all of the silent readers, commenters and voters alike for your continued support of my work. I hope you all enjoyed reading King of the Mountain as much as I enjoyed writing it over the years.

Stay toasty,

- AJ.

BOOK 2:

Nora revels in her parasitical ability to translate negative emotions into spell-casting energy. Pandemonium is her passion. All of her interactions are transactions. She grows more powerful and isolated with each day. Until Chance Nightshade tricks her into joining a task-force of supernatural hybrids, prophesied to stop an army from annihilating the whole shadow world. And one of them threatens to warm her cold heart for good...
