《Clato》chapter two

Cato watched her leave; he wondered if he should go with her. After ten minutes of weighing it up he slowly went to her dorm. Knocking on the door lightly.

"Clover?" He called quietly, using her nickname.

Clove concluded that Cato wasn't going to come, and wished that he had. She needed someone with her.

Hearing him calling for her, she smiled a small smile and opened the door for him, trying to look presentable, then realising it was hopeless with all her chocolates she had stashed away in secret strewn all over the bed.

Cato smiled at her.

"You okay?" He walked in quietly.

Clove looked into Cato's eyes. Wet as her eyes were, she could still see his clearly. He had beautiful eyes.

She tried to bring the word 'yes' to her mouth, but it wouldn't come.

Finally, she gave up and looked away. She sat back down on the bed.

Cato sat down beside her quietly, wrapping his arm around her.

Clove looked down in shame of Cato seeing her like this. She offered him a chocolate with a small smile to lighten the mood.

Cato smiled at her.

"Thank you." He said, putting it in his pocket and leaning over to her gently, hesitating slightly before kissing Clove on the lips lightly.

Clove once again looked into his flawless blue eyes, wondering (not for the first time) why someone as amazing as him cared for a girl such as herself. Being kissed like that made her hungry, hungry for more. She kissed him slightly harder back, closing her eyes to stop herself from tearing up again.

Cato's hands ran down her sides gently, resting on her waist as he kissed her with passion.

Clove wrapped her arms around Cato's neck as she kissed him, and lay down, bringing him with her. She snuggled into him, never wanting him to leave.

Cato pulled back slightly to breathe, he smiled snd laid down with her. His arm wrapped around Clove protectively.

Clove forgot all her worries as she tucked her head under Cato's chin, and put her hand on his chest to feel his heartbeat.

Cato smiled at her, his heart beat steady, but faster than usual. Fluttering, almost. He loved Clove and never wanted to lose her.

Cato stroked her dark hair gently. "You'll be okay Clo."

"Thank you." She closed her eyes again and focused on her breathing. Everything would be fine. They would be together.

Somehow.

Cato stayed quiet and stayed with her.

Even though it was still morning, Clove just wanted to sleep. Get out of the real world. She relaxed. Even with the knowledge of the future stuck in her head, Cato's arms made her feel safe and secure. She started to sleep lightly she was as comfortable and happy as she could be.

Cato ended up falling asleep beside her after a while, his arm draped over her side.

Clove didn't know when she woke up, but she didn't want to move. She was still in Cato's arms. Gently kissing his chest, she eased her way out of his arms, carful not to move any chocolate wrappers. She went outside to get some fresh air.

As she walked around the district, she saw her old house. Her family hadn't loved her. When she was five, they sent her off to the academy, where she had met Cato. He had given her the love no one else had. He was the only one who cared. She couldn't bare the thought of him dying. She made her way to where the organised the tesserae, and put her name in 5 times more.

She had to make sure Cato lived.
