《Infinity || Dan Smith》Sixty-Eight.

After everyone went last night Dan and Charlie had an argument about their busy schedules, and of course the very important 'family time' that Dan had seemed to forget. While he apologised and told Charlie that maybe they should wait until Lacey's older to think about more kids...Charlie was, and still not is, having none of it.
She slept in the separate bedroom of their luxury hotel room. Since that argument both of them haven't really spoken, although they have to pretend that everything is picture perfect for the press junket.
The press junket itself is more tiresome than they both intended it to be. One interviewer after another enters the room, each one with a different accent and a different font version of the official poster.
The posters that hangs up on the wall is fairly basic, as is majority of the film's promo. It's just a picture of Liam and Lily standing back to back with the name of the film in the middle. It's not a cliché Marvel poster, although it's had a lot of praise for it being 'one of it's kind'. Marvel is trying a different marketing technique on Illusion, and so far it's working. All of the ticket pre-sales sold out within twenty minutes, making it one of the most anticipated films ever, despite having little merchandise.
There is merchandise, but they're not too concerned about that. There's unannounced Pop Funko figures coming 'soon', a few different posters, t-shirts, collectibles, and things that you'd normally find in HMV.
"Can you give anything away about the plot?" Both of them shake their heads with a smile. This feels like the hundredth time they've been asked this question today alone, of which isn't exactly exaggerated.
"We're literally allowed to say nothing. Like...zilch." Charlie says after swiping her wig from out of her eyes. No one has commented on it because it looks so realistic, although Charlie is getting to the point where she wants to take it off in annoyance.

She thinks everyone can tell it's a wig.
"So you can't give away...nothing?" Dan then nods his head while they both tiredly smile.
"I mean, honestly we've been in interviews all day now and it's just the look on your faces which just...hurts. You look so disappointed" Charlie points out while the male interviewer then laughs nodding his head.
"I was hoping to get something spoiler-y out from you guys today." He admits while Dan then shakes his head. Sometimes it's best if he lets Charlie do all the talking, since he's the worst at keeping secrets.
"I mean...we can give spoilers about our lives if you want? True exclusives and all that bullshit." At first Charlie and Dan tried to keep their interviews strictly professional, but as the times ticks on...they've lost the professional streak and have been doing and saying random stuff.
"Spoilers about your lives? Oh do tell!" He says in his thick American accent while looking very intrigued of Charlie Dan who sit in front of him.
"I mean...now you say it like that I'm not sure if I want to tell." Charlie laughs.
We've kept us a secret for far too long to give up now, Dan thinks to himself with a pained smile tattooed to his lips.
"You have to tell now! What's happening in your lives right now? Give me the gossip." Charlie shrugs her shoulders backwards while looking around the room.
"Well, if you want the tea then I'm here to serve you." Both Charlie and the interviewer, who's a feminine gay, chuckle.
"Um..." — Charlie's voice trails off as she thinks about watch she can say — "last year while making Illusion I fell ill. And I woke up in a hospital room with...someone....telling me that I unfortunately had cancer." The interviewers eyes widen while Charlie sombrely nods her head.
"But because of the situation I was in before I found out...I didn't really care about my diagnosis. I was more concerned about another person." Dan for a second closes his eyes and remembers Charlie screaming at him and his mother to give Lacey to her.

"Last year I got sick...but this year I'm better than I've ever been. I'm just lucky to have a supportive family..." Charlie smiles while the guy makes a 'wow' sound while looking completely saddened.
"Is it...at bay?" Charlie nods her head with a massive smile.
"It's totally gone. I have a second chance of life...and this time I'm embracing it. Even if I'm wearing a shitty wig." Charlie laughs while the guys holds where his heart is feeling touched that Charlie is just here with him today doing this interview.
"I don't think Dan has anything interesting going on in his life." Despite the argument they both happen to smile while gazing into each other's eyes.
"Actually, I'm engaged..." the guy is speechless from all the exclusives that he's getting from this interview, he doesn't want it to stop.
"No way!" Charlie nudges Dan on the air as she flashes her expensive ring in his face.
"I'm engaged too! The fuck?"
"Wicked ring." Dan tries not to laugh while Charlie nods her head.
"Congratulations to you and your partners." Charlie nods her head with a false smile.
"I was going to ask you about the rumours from your last public appearance at Comic-Con but I guess I won't bother now..." he laughs while Dan and Charlie play it cool, although they're both intrigued to hear what people have been saying about themselves.
"Ohh rumours!" Charlie says in a enthusiastic voice.
"Yeah, there was a few. I had to write a whole list on my notes." The interview waves his shitty android in the air with a smile on his face. He no longer feels the urge to debunk the questions.
"Read them to me" Charlie says while Dan leans forwards in his chair.
"Read...the rumours..." the interviewers voice trails off while Charlie nods her head firmly.
"Yeah, it'll be a laugh." Dan smiles and shyly nods his head while Charlie sits up a little and tries to see whether she can see Kyle holding Lacey, but he's gone to change her. Luckily, interviewer can't see behind the scenes to be able to piece two and two together.
He then goes on his 'notes' app and laughs at how ridiculous they seem, although nearly all of them are completely true. "So the first rumour that appeared around you guys was at Comic-Con. Apparently, while the first teaser of Illusion was shown you was spotted cuddling up besides Dan." Charlie nods her head with a smile while Dan then deliberately hugs Charlie.
"Yeah, that sounds like us. We're besties." Charlie rests her head on Dan's shoulder.
The interviewer than goes onto the next rumour. "Apparently you had a visible...well baby bump. And you and Dan went to a restaurant where a fan saw you was clearly pregnant and together..." Charlie bites her lip before shrugging.
"And the final rumour is that you're both signed onto the Illusion's directors next film." Charlie nods her head at that rumour.
"I'm starring in the film, but Dan has other film commitments with another director which is...kinda asshole-ish, right? My best friend leaving me while we're an acting dream team!" Dan gives Charlie a scolding look, but not to make things too obvious Charlie smiles at him.
"Will we ever get to see you both on screen in the future?" Both Charlie and Dan shrug, although they know of a Illusion sequel.
"Who knows..." Charlie voice trails off with a smile.
"Who knows?"

NEWDIE STEADSLAW Part I
NEWDIE STEADSLAW is a randomized array of Chekhov's red herrings, non sequitors ex machina, run-on sentences, and em dashes—so many em dashes. It's like if the Bible and Shakespeare had a baby that they surrendered to foster care, then it got adopted by Alice in Wonderland and Dr. Seuss—the books, not the people—and then the baby fell down the stairs. In this metaphor, the stairs wrote the story. Part I is the tale of the adventures of Traycup and Roby as they try to hold down a job inside the hollow Earth—a place made possible thanks to the secret science of embargoed relativity—and they get distracted by dancing foxes, a giant's record collection, and something with a train, I think. It's a work of fiction—although to call it work seems insulting to, y'know, actual work—but the fiction label is apt, so, y'know, that's a win. Half the words are made up, and the other half are embarrassed to be seen with them. Part I is complete.
