《Infinity || Dan Smith》Twenty-Two.

While everyone is packing up their things for the night, Dan and Charlie are the first to leave the studio. They walk with their hands tied together...but they know they shouldn't. The press aren't really phased with this movie, since they go to the most isolated of places to film. The Marvel movie has been given a fake title 'Wilted Rose' by another company to throw press and fans off course.
"Wait" — Charlie laughs — "you seriously want me to meet your mum and dad?" Dan nods his head enthusiastically. Ever since Charlie made the first move...he's been completely in love with her.
Charlie then makes a 'wow' sound. She's never really met a boyfriends parents before. All of her other ex's are quick to skip things like that...since they're players and cheat multiple times. They wouldn't like their parents to look down on them.
"I mean...only if that's okay by you?" Dan is nervous about bringing her home, they haven't even been dating for long. But it feels 'right'. They're both madly in love and he doesn't see the point in waiting any longer.
"Yeah...I'd love to." She falsely smiles before Dan kisses her on the cheek happily.
They're both in love.

Charlie awkwardly smiles at Dan's mother. Since Dan's parents wasn't suspecting him to show up, his father is at the office and Isla is in her pyjamas. "So how long have you been seeing each other?" His mother breaks the silence.
"Not long...but yeah." Dan says while he gazes into Charlie's pretty brown eyes.
"Are you both co-stars?" They nod their heads.
"Dan plays my onscreen fiancé."
"Onscreen fiancé...no wonder why you two are a thing." Dan's jaw drops open while Isla stands up. He's forever getting embarrassed by his mother, but Charlie finds it sweet. Her parents were never around when she was growing up. Her father committed suicide due to insanity and her mother is a alcoholic druggie.

"I'll get changed...and then we can go out for dinner?" Charlie nods her head at the offer while Dan tilts his head back. He isn't really in the mood to go out for dinner.
"I was thinking why don't we get a takeaway? I'll pay and get it..." Charlie looks at Dan slightly horrified. She doesn't want to be left alone with Dan's mother. Charlie's scared of what Isla thinks about her, and she doesn't want to say anything which might offend Dan's mother.
"No, no. We'll go out to dinner, would you be interested in a calvary? It's a big posh hotel which is out of the way, but they do the best calvary's." Isla asks while looking at Charlie sweetly.
"A calvary sounds lovely. If I knew I would've put on a dress or something fancy." Charlie is in a baggy white hoodie with light pink shorts. She's freezing, but she wore the hoodie because it belongs to Dan. Charlie's original intentions was to see whether he would notice, dot hat he would want it back to wear again. Charlie found him looking 'softer' than usual when he wore it...but the backfired almost straight away.
Dan noticed and he told her to keep it.
"You're welcome to look through my wardrobe although none of them will fit you..." Charlie shakes her head while Dan puts his arm around her back.
"Is it the Harley Hotel?" Dan asks changing the boring subject of dress codes.
"Yes. Me and your father got there every month."
"That's the one where they play live classical music on piano?" It's a very posh hotel. Isla once again nods her head with a smile.
Charlie doesn't know what Dan and Isla is talking about so she keeps out of the conversation. "She might need a dress then...and me in a suit." Dan rolls his eyes back for the seventh time in the past hour.

"Is it that fancy?" Charlie whispers in shock.
She's never been anywhere classy before. When she has ventured out of her humble comfort zone...she found that she didn't like the glamorous life. That's why she sometimes opts out of going to premieres...since she finds them self centred.
The Brit Awards was the first time she ever has been to a 'lavish' event. But then...even the Brit Awards isn't the most lavish event in history. So that's why she agreed.
Isla nods her head slightly. With that Charlie stands up quickly and points towards the living room door, indicating that she needs to go somewhere. "I'll go home quickly and get changed. It's no problem." With that Dan shakes his head.
"Nah. Mum, tell her she doesn't have to get changed to have a fucking calvary in a hotel!" Dan almost laughs at how ridiculous it seems.
"It's a five star hotel, sweetheart."
Charlie dies inside a little. She then nears the door, putting the hood up over her blonde hair so it looks like a Lion's mane.
"You two be back here by eight, okay?" Both Dan and Charlie nods their heads. Dan then pulls himself up from off of the sofa and then walks to the door besides Charlie.
This isn't exactly what Dan had in mind...

Author's Thoughts: What is litRPG (From wikipedia) - LitRPG, short for Literary Role Playing Game, is a literary genre combining the conventions of MMORPGs with science-fiction fantasy novels.[1] LitRPG is a literary genre where games or game-like challenges form an essential part of the story. A LitRPG work simultaneously narrates the story of characters inside and outside of the game-world. At least some of the characters in a LitRPG novel therefore understand that they are playing a game: they are 'meta-aware'. So, while Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is a fantasy novel, a book about people creating avatars and interacting in a Lord of the Rings MMORPG would be a LitRPG novel. Why do I read them? You know, I am not too sure. I love MMOs. I played them, quit them, joined up and repeated the cycle. They are fun! They are a massive waste of time but so are most games. Do I want to read about someone else playing them? Sort of?The advent of VR and the possibility of VR someday becoming so immersive that you can't tell them from reality sets the imagination on fire. What if this could be life? But most stories fall short. At the end of the day the protagonist hangs up his VR helmet and goes to have dinner with his mom and dad or other family and it becomes meaningless. It's like the story that ends because the main character woke up and nothing you read matters. There have been some books that explore the concept of the intersection of reality and total immersion VR. Enders Game is a classic. There were a few others that escape me but they exist, however, the cross between the game and reality is weak.So what if the game was real? The technology needed for total immersion VR is so advanced that by the time we reach that goal technology should have naturally evolved to include several items. You must have direct neural input. You simply can't have a total immersion (all senses and perfect presence) experience without this basic prerequisite. If you have direct neural access, you can probably do neat things like feed knowledge and skills directly to that person. You can undoubtedly do many horrible things as well. Muscles are controlled by the brain. If you control the brain why would you let the body just sit there and rot? A person that sits unmoving for 24 hours a day will have their body whither away just like a coma patient. However, if you control the brain you could control the muscles. On a basic level, this would be isometric impulses, working muscle group against muscle group to avoid atrophy. Taken to its logical conclusion you would be able to gain muscle mass and program muscle memory. The flip side is that you could remote control their body... but let's not go there. So what would people do if it were real? Well, they would probably limit and regulate it since the drawbacks are very obvious. Even if you look at the basic aspects of this you can see some negative possibilities. Look at the Sword Art Online anime. Personally, I think they missed the boat by putting a bomb in the VR helmet. Do you really need a bomb when you have direct access to the brain? So what kind of events would you need to have a situation where the obvious drawbacks haven't been explored? Maybe a society where the advancement of technology has so far outstripped the explorations of its applications that ignorance was truly bliss? Okay, so I had to put in an alien invasion to kickstart the premise, but that was just one of the possibilities.
