《Infinity || Dan Smith》Four.

If Dan wasn't in the mood to be at the table read yesterday say - while being completely sober - then today is going to be torture. Luckily for Dan it was only six o'clock in the evening when Isla put him to bed, so at least he's had more than a few hours rest before waking up at five in the morning.
Out of guilt, Isla drove him to the table read. Of course he is more sober than he was last night, but Dan is now in the full blown hangover stage.
And it's starting to show.
"You know that I would do anything and...and everything for you" - Dan reads the script in a completely unenthusiastic tone. Since he is holding his head while looking down at the script, he doesn't see everyone's concerned looks - "but why do you have to...be like that. You can seem so ungrateful at times and I don't know what...what I'm doing wrong. I love you, L-Lily" As soon as Dan finishes reading his part, he cups his hand over his mouth.
Charlie doesn't read her part, knowing that there's something wrong. Instead there's a uncomfortable silence. Dan looks up in confusion of the silence, and is greeted by eyes of every person in the table read room.
He doesn't say anything...he automatically feels like a let down.
"Big night out, huh?" Aubrey tries making a joke to clear the awkward attention. Dan lowers his hand - still feeling queasy - but he manages a false smile. "Yeah..." his voice trails off as he suddenly thinks that lying about a 'big night out' sounds more mature than the truth.
That his mother got him drunk just to boast to her friends that she has a film star son who is a relatively unknown superhero.
"Let's take an early break, shall we?" The president of Marvel and producer of the movie, Kevin Feige, says with a laugh in his voice. He can understand that Dan might've had a bender after his first official day with his Marvel cast.
However, no one gets out of their seats...it's just Dan who embarrassedly stands up. He doesn't say anything, instead he tucks in his black office chair and quickly walks out of the room with his head lowered in shame and embarrassment.

Once the heavy duty door shuts Aubrey loudly sighs, "if anyone has aspirin...please give it to Dan when he comes back." Everyone then nod's their heads...but they all remain seated,
Charlie helplessly chuckles in disbelief. "What?" A fellow cast mate says while Charlie rolls back her pretty cat eyes. "Nothing. It's just..." Charlie's voice trails off as she feels disappointed. "If this Downey or whoever...everyone would dive into their bags and prey to god they have aspirin." Charlie's character, Lily, has already been briefly seen in a Avengers film. So she knows how Marvel works.
"Not everyone carries aspirin for fucking table reads, Charlotte." The executive producer snaps while the rest of the room sniggers in his favour.
"Well I do." Charlie snaps as she stands up and grabs her bag. "Ten minutes, remember." Aubrey yawns while she skips a few pages ahead in her script and doodles on the side of the page. Charlie, with her face like thunder stands up and marches out of the room.
Charlie can fend for herself. It's one of her many gifts. One of her biggest pet peeves is people not looking out for each other. She hates people who belittle, or don't take the time out to ask if they're okay. Thankfully Charlie is someone who has everyone's back...well mainly those who deserve her help and kindness. She has no time for the people who don't.
The twenty seven year old briskly walks down the long white corridor which still smells like paint, and out of the backdoor. As soon as she takes a step outside she smells the foul strong scent of vomit.
"Jesus..." she mumbles pinching her cold fingertips against her nose. She cannot stand the smell, or sight of sick. She's squirmish that way. Dan however sits on the floor a meter or two away from the drain. He tried pushing most of it down it with his shoe, but the smell still lingers unfortunately.
"Hey..." she casually says slowly walking up to Dan who has most definitely seen better days. Dan looks up and smiles, it's a weak loose smile....but he can't help it. He was hoping to run into Charlie today, he wants to give her his number. It's not in a romance way or anything, it's just so she can tell him all about the role of Liam Dawson before they start filming.

After yesterday's session, Dan overheard Charlie's conversation with the creator of their characters. He heard how passionate she was about the comics, and how much she knows in general. Dan compared Charlie's knowledge of their characters with Aubrey's. That's how much Charlie knows about the 'Illusion & Lady Luck' comics.
If it was up to Dan, he'd made Charlie direct the film.
"Hello." Dan replies back while Charlie sits besides him on the curb. She doesn't say anything else for the time being, instead she opens her bag up slightly and pulls out the asprin. At the corner of Dan's eye - while he tries to be a gentleman and not look in her bag - he spots a graphic novel. The graphic novel contains the issue where Illusion met Lady Luck for the first time, although Dan doesn't know that. The creator of their characters, Chase Reynolds, told Charlie yesterday to re-read that issue and take down notes of Lady Luck's behaviour and mannerisms. He is just as excited that his vision is becoming a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Charlie is.
"Since no one offered you any, take these." Charlie hands Dan the entire box. "Nah, I'll only have two." Dan says as he gently pushes her hand with the box away from him. But Charlie sternly holds it out again, "save them for a later date or something? I've got some more at home anyway." Charlie isn't going to tell Dan that she also woke up with a hangover headache.
Charlie got drunk in a more discreet way last night. She was having a bubble bath while watching netflix, and she simply got the taste for rosé wine. So she got out of the bath and bought two more bottles back in with her, by the fourth bottle she got out of the cold bath. She then somehow managed to dry her hair and put on her nightclothes...and went to bed. She was silent for the entire time unlike Dan.
"Cheers." He says taking them off of her.
In silence Dan pulls the plastic out from the rectangular box and pops open the foil, taking the two tablets.
"I didn't have big night out." Dan confesses, it's only because he's stuck for conversation.
"My mum wanted to know about the film. I normally talk more when I'm drunk..." that's when Charlie bursts out laughing, she wasn't expecting Dan to say that, but she's glad he did. It's lightened the mood up considerably.
"It's not funny. I feel like I'm going to fucking die." She then rubs him on the back supportively, although that makes Dan feel worse, but he doesn't say anything.
"Bless your mum, that's so sweet and hilarious. I never knew gossip was that important." Dan nods his head.
"Clearly me neither." He laughs while Charlie helps him stand up.
"I'm a mess, aren't I?" Charlie shrugs her shoulders back, she isn't sure how to answer that question.
"I think everyone is a mess...some more than others, obviously." With that Dan smiles through his embarrassment as he takes another deep breath. The air is helping him, despite that horrible taste at the back of his mouth, and the feeling like one of the tablets is lodged in the back of his throat. I probably shouldn't of took the tablets without water - he silently thinks to himself.
"Come on, we probably should be getting back now. I don't think they're happy about the early break." Dan nods his head and slowly walks besides Charlie back into the studio.

THE TIME MACHINE (Completed)
The Time Machine is a science fiction novel by H. G. Wells, published in 1895 and written as a frame narrative. Wells is generally credited with the popularization of the concept of time travel by using a vehicle that allows an operator to travel purposely and selectively forwards or backward in time. The term "time machine", coined by Wells, is now almost universally used to refer to such a vehicle. The Time Machine has been adapted into three feature films of the same name, as well as two television versions, and a large number of comic book adaptations. It has also indirectly inspired many more works of fiction in many media productions.

Time Can't Heal This
I've always hated the saying "Time heals all wounds." Maybe in most cases that may be true. In my experience with life and pain however, time has only ever bled out the wound. The scars that the wounds left behind though, are often so deep that just looking at them becomes painful to the mind. Time only heals what you let go of. Sometimes letting go and moving on just doesn't feel possible; no matter how much time you let pass you by.These poems signify what time hasn't healed for me.
