《INVITE ME ROUND》Chapter 24

"Right now she's been hanging out with this new boy, I think his name was Mike. Anyway, now she's barely in contact with Logan. That means-"
"He's all yours." You nudged Sophie aside and she gave you a big smile when she heard your words.
She nodded frantically and clasped her hands.
"Right, Y/n. You're so right.", she exhaled calmly.
"This is the day I've been waiting for. I'm going to run right up to him and ask him if he's-"
"Sophie,"
"Don't keep interrupting me!", she crossed her arms while walking to the classroom with you.
"Hey, I'd like to give you some advice, from friend to friend." You stopped, even though you knew you'd be late for Mr. Bennet's class.
"Don't go up to him and don't ask him out. Just ignore him. You're mysteriously innocent, don't forget that." You put your hand on her shoulder.
"Just wait." You winked and looked at Sophie's serious face. She seemed on the verge of tears and nodded again as she had before.
"You're right again my dear.
Sometimes I wonder why I chose Scarlett and not you." With these words she left you in the hallway.
You made an irritated face and looked after your friend.
"But you know we're in the same class, don't you?"
***
Mr. Bennet's lesson should have started a few minutes ago, but he didn't show up.
The class, on the other hand, was restless. The girls didn't whisper, they cackled like chickens. Well, some of them at least.
Another group of girls tried desperately to silence the class and a group of boys and girls tried to strike up a conversation.
Scarlett and Sophie didn't seem to mind that Mr. Bennet wasn't there either. They also took the opportunity and exchanged some news with each other.

You've just been trying to improve your grades in geography in the last few weeks because at the beginning of the semester you prefer to spend your time with-
"Look who's there! Gay-Gabriel!", Patricia laughed out loud and to top it off, she pointed her finger at the boy who had just entered the classroom.
You got up immediately and took big strides towards the blond girl. You had no idea these people knew Gabriel was gay.
Gabriel tried to make eye contact with you while you were already imagining how you could dig your fist into Patricia's face.
You've never hit anyone before, but there's always a first time at some point.
"You got a problem with that, fatty-patty?" You grabbed the girl's thin shoulders and pressed her against the wall. Suddenly it became quieter in the classroom.
Everything happened so fast. Your fist clenched almost by itself, and the next moment you were looking down at Patty, who was leaning against the wall and holding her nose in pain.
"What's going on here?", the entire students around you fell silent.
The crowd that had formed around you slowly parted and it was like you heard it from afar. The clicking of her heels, the cold, the voice...
She was right behind you.
It was like cold sweat was forming on your back. Suddenly you found it difficult to stand because your legs felt shaky and your hands were also shaking.
Was it the fear of what would happen because you hurt Patty, or because it was Ms. Ritter standing behind you that you slept with before? And what was she doing here?
"Y/n?" you turned around not to keep her waiting any longer.
"Hello Ms. Ritter," you didn't know whether to look angry, scared, or neutral so you just smiled.

"What happened?" Her eyes widened when she saw the girl on the ground.
"I can explain that...?" you mumbled nervously.
"Yes you can." She nodded.
"While you're in detention.", she carefully pushed you aside and knelt down to Patricia.

"Good afternoon, my name is
Y/n Y/l/n and I have to wait here because Ms. Ritter sent me." You tried to speak confidently but still felt embarrassed. Especially since the director was standing in front of you.
"One moment, sir," the secretary turned away and stepped towards you.
"Excuse me, what do you need?" she asked kindly.
"I have to wait here, my teacher sent me," you said again.
"What have you done?", the headmaster laughed while he also appeared.
What the hell just happened?
"You don't want to know that, believe me." You sat down on the chairs at the edge of the secretariat.
"Oh that reminds me of my childhood.", he approached you and sat in the seat next to you. The director really seemed to have a lot of time.
"So?"
"I punched a classmate in the face..." you confessed.
He just raised his eyebrows.
"Why?"
Was he the school psychologist or what happened? The headmaster himself was sitting next to you.
You felt even more embarrassed because you had to tell him everything.
Until, of course, the secretary had to screw everything up.
"Wait a minute, you didn't show up on time this morning Miss." She said, adjusting her glasses.
"Yeah I- I- I overslept, I'm sorry," you stuttered.
"Come on Margot, since when do you mind if a student oversleeps...", the headmaster rolled his eyes and shook his head.
You stared at him in disbelief, still not understanding what was going on. You were starting to feel like it wasn't the headmaster you were talking to but a friend.
"Mr. Phillips, you are particularly talkative today. You don't get this honor every day, dear.", Margot the secretary winked at you.
Phillips.
You had heard this name before.
Suddenly the door of the secretariat was thrown out.
"Ms. Ritter," the secretary took a step back and smiled in surprise.
Lilith's eyes wandered around the room until she found you.
"Uh, something came up. You have to stay here a little longer after your classes, " her hand went to her neck.
"Seriously?", you got up and the principal next to you also stood up.
"Sir," Lilith had only now noticed him.
"I'm sorry Y/n. But you know the consequences. " she said, looking at you with an I'm-not-sorry gaze while her hand was already reaching for the doorknob.
"Well then we're going to have a nice long chat," the director said, pointing to a clothes rack before looking at your jacket.
Lilith gave you a strange look, and waited for something.
As you took off your jacket, being about to hang it up, something fell out of your unlockable jacket pocket.
The cigarettes.
You forgot about your lousy nasty plan. Actually you were still mad at Lilith and you waited for a lot of explanations.
But right now she was waiting for one.
You looked to the headmaster, as in this case he had more power than Lilith.
He scratched his chin, the secretary shook her head and Ms. Ritter considered saying something.
But finally she left the room.
You were hanging up your jacket when it immediately came to your mind.
Why did you never meet Gabriel's father?
Gabriel Phillips.
Was he Mr Phillips' son?
