Everything was going to hell that week. Joanna was still all up in Harry and Piper's business and she had gone as far as getting a social worker to go visit them. And of course the woman had to sit through a whole meal with the two of them and of course Piper had struggled to eat. And of course she had asked about her girlfriend and how that relationship was going and of course she was going to use all of that against the two of them on court the next week, so, in reality, Piper had an excuse to be in such a bad mood all morning during classes that day.

But you know what? After forcing herself through a whole lunch with Mercedes, she was already feeling slightly better, with her headache gone and excited with the prospect of the glee club soon. Her good mood was short lived though, because, as soon as she stepped foot in the choir room, chatting and laughing with Mercedes, everyone stopped talking and turned to look at her. At that, Piper frowned.

"What's going on?" She asked quietly, as everyone turned from her to Brittany. Noticing the shift in focus, Piper looked for her girlfriend. "Britt?"

Brittany pouted then, sitting in one of the chairs as she looked down at the floor for a second, before looking back up at Piper.

"I'm pregnant." She said, and at that, Piper gasped.

"Britt, you can't be pregnant. We're... We're both girls..."

Before anyone could even say anything, however, Mr. Schue — who had just arrived — shook his head in confusion.

"Wait. Brittany, are you pregnant?" He asked, as the blonde whimpered.

"Definitely." She said. "I'm so sorry, Piper. I didn't want to upset you. I thought I could surprise you when I dropped him off. Pretty sure it's a boy."

"Hum, babies don't get dropped off." Puck said.

"Wait, Brittany, have you been to a doctor yet?" Mr. Schue asked, as Piper just stood there, completely lost. "That's the only way to be sure."

"I don't need to go to a doctor. I just need to look outside my window. Three days ago, a stork built its nest on top of my garage." Brittany said and, as soon as the words left her mouth, Piper breathed out a relieved laugh, as Mercedes did the same beside her, shaking her head at the girl. "I'm not stupid, it's obviously getting ready to bring me my baby. I know where babies come from."

"Babe, that's not..."

Before Piper could continue, however, Brittany spoke up.

"The only problem is I don't know who the stork wants me to have the baby with." Brittany said, as Piper frowned.

"What... What do you mean, Britt?"

"Well, one of the moms is me, right? Because the nest is in my house." Brittany explained further. "But I don't know who the other mom is supposed to be. You or Santana."

"Me or Santana?" Piper repeated, already feeling her heart breaking a bit. "Why... Why would you be confused about that?"

"Because I've been sleeping with both of you." Brittany shrugged as if it was nothing. She noticed, though, how Piper whimpered quietly, pushing Mercedes away from her when the girl tried to pull her in a hug. "It's not cheating, though. Santana told me. Because you and I are dating, but Santana and I are just best friends helping each other out."

Piper laughed dryly then, wiping away her tears as she glared at Brittany for a second, for the first time ever, hating how innocent she was and how gullible it made her. Turning to look at Santana instead, she scoffed when the Latina looked down, embarrassed.

"We're done. I don't want to talk to you." She said, unsure if she was looking at Santana or Brittany this time. "I don't want to talk to either of you."

Turning around to leave, Piper hid her face in her hands as she rushed out of the room, ignoring the calls of her name from her friends as she ran down the hallways sobbing quietly and not at all in the mood for a glee club meeting anymore.

Piper wasn't sure how long she had stayed hidden in the bathroom as she cried, but when she finally unlocked herself and washed off her face the best she could before stepping out, she knew it had been a while. And as she noticed someone standing by the lockers in front of the bathroom, she sighed.

"Did they send you to come and talk to me?" She asked.

"No. I volunteered myself." Sam explained, causing Piper to roll her eyes.

"Why?" She asked, walking over to Sam as she stood beside him, leaning against the lockers. "Because you've been cheated on and you can understand what I'm going through?"

"Maybe." Sam shrugged, sitting down on the floor and patting the empty space beside him. "Maybe I just wanted to check on you."

"I'm miserable." Piper admitted with a scoff as she sat down beside Sam. "Family life is going to shit, so is my mental health and now I just found out I've been cheated on. More than once. And who knows for how long..."

"I'm sorry you're going through all of this." Sam said, sincerely as Piper just hummed.

"Yeah, well. It is what it is." She shrugged. "But, you know... If my girlfriend cheated on me with Santana, it means your girlfriend cheated on you too, you know?"

"I know." He admitted. "I don't really mind though. Never had feelings for Santana. Sure, she's a great kisser, but that's about all we ever do."

"Hum..." Piper nodded then. "You know, I don't think I loved Brittany. Like, really loved her. But I really liked her and I think I was on my way there — on my way to actually falling for her. I really cared for her, though, and I really liked that relationship we had. I was loyal to her and, I guess her not being as loyal to me is what got me."

"You guys looked really happy together." Sam said.

"She made me happy." Piper admitted. "I guess I didn't do that for her, though."

"Sorry." He said, looking over at her for a second as the girl frowned a bit under his stare and turned to him with a smile.

"What?" She asked.

"Can I hug you?"

At that, Piper giggled, nodding her head and allowing Sam to throw an arm around her shoulders and bring her closer to him. They stayed like that for a while, Sam staying silent as Piper cried softly again for a few minutes. When she was done, Sam rubbed her arm gently wondering if what he had to say would do more harm then good. When Piper sniffled, though, using her sleeves to wipe her last tears away, Sam decided to give it a shot.

"Remember that day I saved you from Karofsky?" He asked gently as Piper frowned.

"Yeah?"

"Remember I told you someone had asked me to keep an eye on you?"

"Yeah."

"You probably already knew... But that someone was Quinn."

At that, Piper gasped, lifting her head from Sam's shoulder as she stared at him, confused for a second.

"Quinn?"

"Yeah." Sam nodded then, with a small smile in her direction. "She was the one who told me to keep an eye on how you're eating — and if you're eating at all — and she also asked me to step up against Karofsky if I ever saw him giving you a hard time."

"Really?" Piper asked, as Sam chuckled at her surprise.

"Quinn really cares for you, Piper. She's never stopped." He told her sincerely, before shrugging at her with a smile. "That's probably why I was so jealous of you in the first place but, you know..."

"Shut up." Piper giggled as Sam smiled, happy to have made her laugh again, even if just for a little bit. "Here I was, thinking it was just because I had better hair than you."

"I guess that counted a bit too." Sam chuckled when she laughed. "But it was mostly the Quinn thing."

"Sexy." Mr. Schue said, as he wrote the word in the board.

"I really hope that's not one of the requirements for Regionals, because with Berry in those tights, we don't stand a chance." Santana said, as Rachel frowned, offended.

"No, this isn't about Regionals. I'm less worried about that right now and more worried about the fact that it's become clear to me that some of you have been lacking when it comes to understanding the... The, hum... The intricacies of adult relationships." Mr. Schue said, as some of the kids laughed and Piper rolled her eyes quietly. "Yeah, anyways. Along with preparing for our Regionals next week, I want to spend the week educating ourselves about some of these intricacies."

"Just say sex..." Piper mumbled under her breath, unsure as to why this was being such a topic of discussion.

"Is this the appropriate forum for that?" Rachel asked, frowning a bit, clearly uncomfortable.

"Look, whenever we had, hum, issues in the past that are on our minds or giving us problems, it's always helped us to sing about it." Mr. Schue argued. "So, this week I have invited a special guest: Ms. Holiday!"

At that, everyone clapped and even Piper in her bad mood managed to open a smile.

"Hola, clase." Ms, Holiday greeted.

"Oh no, it's the salad lady." Mercedes mumbled from beside Piper as the girl snorted a laugh, remembering the cucumber incident in the sex ed. class that Ms. Holiday tried to give them the other day.

"Okay, so: sex." Ms. Holiday started. "It's just like hugging, only wetter."

"Yeah it is." Artie agreed, as Piper frowned, unsure if the boy had even ever had sex to begin with.

"Okay, so let's start with the basics." Ms. Holiday continued as she turned to look at Finn. "Finn, is it true that you thought you got your girlfriend pregnant via hot tub?"

"I have always been dubious." Finn admitted, as Ms. Holiday, moved along to look at Brittany instead.

"And, Brittany, you think that storks bring babies?" She asked.

"I get my information from Woody Woodpecker cartoons." Brittany shrugged, turning to look at Piper as the girl quickly looked away.

"Well, that's all going to end right here, right now." Ms. Holiday announced. "Because, today, we are going to get under the covers, all together, and get the ditty on the dirty."

"I'm so turned on right now." Puck said, as Mercedes scoffed.

"Disgusting." She mumbled as Piper shrugged from beside her.

"I mean, she is kinda hot..." She admitted, laughing when Mercedes slapped her arm playfully. "She is!"

"Ah, what about those of us who choose to remain celibate?" Rachel interrupted Ms. Holiday, causing everyone to stop for a second and turn to look at her as she touched Quinn's arm only to have the blonde lean away from her.

"Oh, well, I admire you." Ms. Holiday nodded. "Although I think you're naive and possibly frigid, I do admire your choice."

"I think this is a good time for a song." Mr. Schue interrupted, before Ms. Holiday could speak anymore and the woman smiled at the teacher.

"Oh! Yes, okay." She nodded, before turning back to look at the kids. "Rule number one: every intimate encounter that you're ever going to have in your life is going to start with a touch. Hit it!"

And just like that, Ms. Holiday started to sing Do you wanna touch, calling up Brittany and Santana to back her up with dancing. Piper watched Brittany in silence, admiring the way she moved so effortlessly. But then, her eyes fell on Santana and, when she noticed how the two girls watched each other perform and smiled at one another, she sighed. Piper allowed Mercedes to pull her up when Ms. Holiday called everyone to join her as well and, for the two minutes of the song, as she sang and danced with her friends, she forgot about all her troubles and just allowed the music to heal her, even if just for a few moments.

"So just remember, whenever you have sex with someone, you're having sex with everyone they've ever had sex with." Ms. Holiday called out as soon as the song was over, causing everyone to look at one another for a second, considering her words. "And everybody's got a random."

"Hey, could we talk?"

At the sound of her voice, Piper sighed, keeping her eyes in the book inside her locker to try and avoid having to deal with any of that right now.

"I really don't want to talk, Brittany." She mumbled.

"But you said we could always talk about our feelings..." Brittany said, and just by the tone in her voice, Piper knew she was pouting. "I could really use one of our sharing moments right now."

"You really hurt me, Brittany..." Piper sighed, sucking in a deep breath as she tried not to cry again, but, before either of the girls could say anything, another voice cut in the conversation.

"Come on, Piper... It wasn't Brittany's fault, you know it." Santana said, and, at that, Piper huffed. "She never meant to hurt you."

Closing her eyes for a second, Piper debated on what to do. Because, on one hand, she knew Santana was right. She knew Brittany had never really meant to hurt her feelings or upset her in any way. But she had. And she had betrayed her in the worst possible way and it had hurt. So, really, Piper didn't really know what to do.

"Fine." She relented then, closing her locker as she turned to look at the two girls. "What do you want to talk about?"

And judging by the way Santana frowned as she looked around for a second to try and see if anyone was around, Piper had an idea what it was that the two of them had been looking for her for.

"Could we... Could we talk in private, maybe?" Santana whispered, clearly ashamed.

"Yeah, sure." Piper nodded, still acting a bit cold toward the girls, but willing to help anyway. "The art classroom should be empty right now. Come on."

And so Piper guided the two of them toward her art classroom and nodded to herself when she noticed that no one was inside. Pushing the door open, she motioned for the two of them to walk inside.

"Okay." She said, locking the door after her as she walked up to the front of the classroom and leaned against the teacher's desk with her arms crossed over her chest. "What did you want to talk about?"

"I'm really sorry, P..." Brittany was the first one to break the silence and, judging by the crack in her voice, Piper knew she meant it. "I never meant to hurt you."

At that, Piper sighed, looking down at her feet for a second before looking back up at Brittany with a small smile.

"I know, Britt." She nodded gently. "I know you didn't mean any harm. I just... It just really upset me, you know? So... I'm gonna need a while to forgive you, okay? Just... Just give me a bit of time. I'll come back around, I promise."

Brittany nodded then, sending Piper a small smile as she took a step toward her.

"Can I hug you?" She asked and, already tearing up, Piper nodded quietly, allowing Brittany to embrace her as she enjoyed her so familiar heat. "I'm sorry, P."

"It's okay, Britt." Piper whispered in her ear. "I understand."

Nodding at Piper then, Brittany stepped back to stand beside Santana. The Latina bit her lip as she watched the exchange quietly, ignoring the feeling of her stomach turning inside of her knowing full well both girls needed that bit of healing.

"So..." Piper said, wiping away a tear from her eyes as she turned back to look at the girls. "Is that what you wanted to talk about?"

And, at that, Brittany turned to look at Santana who sighed, looking away. Piper watched the pair, the reason behind this talk suddenly becoming very apparent out of the sudden.

"Okay... Why don't we sit down?" Piper offered then, pointing to the ground in front of her, sitting down on the floor herself. She smiled a bit when Santana raised an eyebrow at her. "Come on."

Brittany was all too happy to comply, sitting down cross-legged on the floor facing Piper, as the two of them turned to look at Santana, expectantly. Santana sighed then, relenting.

"Why are we sitting on the floor?" She asked.

"It's an arts class, Santana." Piper smiled, as if that explained it all. "We don't have chairs like other classrooms. We have some stools, if you want."

"It's fine." Santana smiled a bit as Piper nodded. "Look, Piper, I know you and Britt just broke up and it was because of me, but we really didn't know who else to go to."

"It's okay." Piper shrugged then. "I'm happy that you came to me, because I know this is tough. And I want to ask both of you if either one of you thinks that you might be a lesbian?"

"I don't know." Brittany shrugged. "I mean, I was really attracted to you. I am. But I was also attracted to some boys before too."

"Okay." Piper nodded encouragingly before turning to the other girl in front of her. "Santana?"

"Yeah, I mean, who knows?" She shrugged. "I'm attracted to girls and I'm attracted to guys. I made out with a mannequin. I even had a sex dream about a shrub that was just in the shape of a person."

"Well, we've all been there." Piper admitted as the two girls frowned at her. "I mean, I did think I was straight for a long time and I only, you know, admired girl or whatever. I'm still curious about, you know, what it feel like to be with a boy. I'm pretty sure that if Mike was up for it, I'd definitely do it with him. Well, anyway, it's not about who you are attracted to, ultimately. It's about who you fall in love with."

"Well, I don't know how I feel because Santana refuses to talk about it." Brittany said.

"Okay. Well, I know talking about feelings can be really hard, so, I have an idea." Piper suggested, as the two girls turned to look at her again. "Why don't you guys find a song and see if maybe the lyrics of the song can help you start a dialogue going."

Santana and Brittany exchanged a look then and when Brittany nodded at Santana, the girl nodded.

"I could be down with that." She decided as Piper smiled. "I just... I don't know a song we could use for this."

"Well, I have a suggestion." Piper shrugged. "I mean, if you want it."

Looking at each other again for a second, Brittany turned back around to look at her ex-girlfriend with a small smile.

"Will you help us sing it?"

***

Piper

I took my love, I took it down

I climbed a mountain and I turned around

And I saw my reflection in the snow-covered hills

When the landslide brought me down

Oh, mirror in the sky

What is love?

Now, Piper was well aware that wasn't her moment. It wasn't her song. But she couldn't help but relate and, even though, on either side of her — as her, Santana and Brittany sat in stools in front of the whole glee club — the two other girls kept staring at each other, Piper couldn't help but let her eyes wander around until they found Quinn, sitting by herself that day as she sang those words to her and no one else.

Piper and Santana

Can the child within my heart rise above?

Can I sail through the changin' ocean tides?

Can I handle the seasons of my life?

Oh, oh

Piper, Santana and Brittany

Well, I've been afraid of changin'

'Cause I've built my life around you

Santana and Brittany

But time makes you bolder

Children get older

And I'm getting older too

As the song progressed and Quinn kept on staring right into Piper's eyes, the blonde couldn't help but tear up when Piper sent her a small smile before taking over for the next verse, her voice sounding so pure and sweet it made Quinn's whole body come alive like nothing in her life ever did.

Piper

Well, I'm getting older too

So, take this love, take it down
