I walk out of the bathroom and jump back into bed, alone. Klaus was downstairs doing god knows what. I sigh, remembering some moments that happened last night.

The embarrassing ones to be specific, the one where I went off on Hayley like a jealous girlfriend. Something I deeply regret and cannot take back.

I mentioned it to Klaus and he just continues to tease me about it. Now, all I want to know if Klaus gets jealous and how will he act? Probably kill a man if they look at me in a different way.

I groan and began to clean up the very messy bedroom filled with last night's clothes. I throw them into the hamper and sit on the bed, getting lazy.

I lay back on the bed and stare up at the ceiling, thinking about last night. Then my thoughts tuned to will I have a future with Klaus? What will I do when I graduate? I'm not sure if I want to run off with Klaus or stay here and continue my plan what Elena, Caroline, Bonnie, and I created ever since we were kids; to go to college together.

A part of me wants to leave Mystic Falls for good and explore the world. That was plan B if the first plan didn't work out. But, everything has changed and at this point I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do next.

I hear the door open and soon feel a presence lay right next to me. "Good morning, love." he says to me and gives me a soft kiss on my neck. I flutter my eyes shut and he makes his way up to my lips, giving me one last lingering kiss before pulling away. "What's on your mind?"

I smile and shake my head. "Nothing." I tell him and give him a kiss, about to pull away when he pulls me on top of him. "Surprised you're still walking, even after last night."

I playfully roll my eyes at him, about to get up for a second time, but he pulls me down again. Only this time, he was attacking me with his kisses.

I kiss back, my hands moving up to the side of his face, then slowly moving backwards to his head. He flips us over, hovering over me as his hands slide up and down my sides.

He ends the kiss and moves down, kissing down my neck. I take my hands and stop him before he could continue. "Klaus..."

"Maya..."

His eyes are staring up at mine. Klaus is still on top of me, just lower. "We're supposed to be at Stefan's. He called and I said we'd be there." I tell him and he scoffs. "Stefan? What could he possibly need from us?"

"Ugh, I don't know. He said he might know where Silas is." I respond and he rolls his eyes with a loud sigh.

"So... in order to do that, I need you to move." I say, giving him a quick smile. Klaus doesn't move, instead he uses his strength to move me and presses my back against the headboard.

I gasp at the sudden cold impact that shivered down my body. I was now sitting against the bed with Klaus still staring back up at me, only this time with his usual famous smirk.

"Hmm, Stefan's gonna have to wait, sweetheart."

Caroline is collecting trash from around the house, which is still a disaster after Elena's party. I roll my eyes at the thought of Elena throwing a party for her own entertainment.

"Maya! Thanks for joining! The trash bag is in the kitchen and you can start at that corner." Caroline tells me, pointing to a random corner before finding a cup that still has alcohol in it and thriftily drinks the last sip before tossing it in the bin.

I groan and walk into the kitchen to retrieve the trash bag she said earlier. There was no way I could get out of this one. It's usually always Caroline and I to clean up after people's messes. Unless...

"Desperate times, I take it?" Klaus asks Caroline as I step back into the room. She gives me a glare, "What is he doing here?" she questions. Yeah, Caroline is still pretty mad after he drove Tyler out of town.

"Actually, I didn't come to clean." I say, throwing the empty trash bag onto the table filled with cups. "I didn't know about the party until earlier today," I step down the few steps and stand next to Klaus. "Stefan sent us."

"She's right." Stefan says, stepping out of nowhere and into the room where we are all located. "So some blood went missing from a few hospitals. What about Elena? Don't vampires with their humanity off tend to overindulge in human blood, or were you the exception?" Klaus says while pouring himself a drink.

I went to do the same, but he stops me with a smirk while shaking his head. I huff, crossing my arms and listen on with the conversation.

"It's not Elena." Stefan says as he eyes us both.

"Well, let's say for a moment that it was Silas. I'm struggling to see how this affects me." Klaus states and I raise my eyebrows. "Look. Silas wants to die and be reunited with his one true love, but he's supernatural, so if he takes the cure and dies, he gets stuck on the Other Side." Stefan tells him and Klaus smirks, "How Shakespearian."

"But if he destroys the Other Side altogether, he can take the cure, die, and pass on, but in destroying it, every dead supernatural being will return to our side." Stefan explains and I nod, taking all this in. Even the supernatural creatures I killed.

"That means every werewolf, every witch, every vampire. I wonder how many of those you personally killed. Care yet?" Caroline asks with a hint of sarcasm.

Klaus smiles, "My interest is piqued," he turns to Stefan, "How do we stop him?"

"Bonnie said Silas needs to complete three massacres to do this spell. Before Professor Shane died, he convinced the pastor to blow up the Council. Next, he had you kill your hybrids, and now he only needs one more massacre, so if he's here, that's what he's doing. We need to find him."

§

It was now nighttime and I sit quietly next to Klaus as Stefan and Caroline roam around looking at books in Professor Shane's office. I close the current book I was ready and plop it down on the desk in front of me, not finding any information in it.

Klaus' hands grazes over mine and soon puts his hand over mine. My eyes flutter up to his, but he's already staring back at me. I give him a small smile, him returning one as well.

"What are we even looking for?"

I snap out of my gaze once Caroline's voice hit the silent room. "Well, if Shane really was working with Silas, chances are he was helping him plan his next move." Stefan replies.

"Where, on his evil villain to-do list? 'Steal blood, perform 3 massacres, pick up dry cleaning'?" Caroline asks sarcastically. Klaus chimes in, "Actually, not to nit-pick, but we evil villains usually use minions to pick up our dry cleaning, that sort of thing."

Caroline scoffs and turns to Stefan. "Why is he necessary again?" Stefan sighs, "Well, we don't know what Silas can do, so if we do have to go head to head with him, an Original hybrid who can't die might come in handy."

"Besides, Stefan and I work well together, or at least we did in the twenties." Klaus states, smirking as usual. Stefan gives him a look, "Well, granted my emotions were off."

Klaus smirks, "And that's why you were more fun, just as Damon is probably relishing in Elena's emotionless company in New York."

Stefan shakes his head, trying to convince him. "My brother knows what he's doing."

Klaus raises his eyebrows, "Does he? Don't underestimate the allure of darkness, Stefan. Even the purest hearts are drawn to it."

I look up at him, taking in what he just said. I knew he meant Damon and Elena, but it also seemed like he was hinting at me.

I hear Stefan laugh him off and Klaus shrugs, "Still, I'm sure it'll all be fine."

Caroline breaks off the tension, "I–I think I found something." she says, carrying a large book over to the desk. "Symbolic Figures in the Dark Arts. Didn't Bonnie talk about Expression Triangles? Here."

Stefan reads from the opposite page. "In some schools of magic such as Expression, human sacrifice can be used as a focus for power. It is rumored that the addition of two supernatural sacrifices compounds the mystical energy, creating an Expression Triangle."

Caroline points at a symbol in the drawing, Humans– that was the council fire." She then points at another symbol, "Demons–Klaus' hybrid failure."

"Well, I wouldn't exactly call it a failure. What's the third?" Klaus questions and Caroline clasps her hands to her mouth, "Oh, no."

The third one was the witches. Stefan and Caroline walk out of the office to call Bonnie whereas Klaus and I are trying to figure out where the location of the massacre is.

I hold onto a ruler and sharpie marker, eyeing the map of Mystic Falls that was laid out right in front of me. I use both my tools and start to draw lines, "There've been two massacres. Pastor Young's farm is here, and the old Lockwood cellar is here. According to the book, the Expression Triangle is equilateral, putting it here."

I draw another two lines, forming a triangle on the map. I smile, proud of myself, but my smile turns into a frown when Klaus gives me a look. "What?" I ask, crossing my arms.

"Somebody's been skipping their geometry classes." Klaus says and takes the ruler and pen out of my hands, beginning to draw another triangle opposite to mine. "There are actually two places where the third massacre could be."

"I could of done that.. if you'd had let me finish." I tell him, eventually staring back at him across from the desk. Klaus lowers his eyes before flickering them back to mine again. Before I could even respond back, Stefan and Caroline burst through the doors.

I turn my back around and hear Klaus sigh behind me. I give my two friends a smile, "Hey. Did you find Bonnie?" I ask and he shakes his head, "No, but I talked to her dad. I think I found Silas."

§

"They're linked. Bonnie's gonna kill them." Stefan says, kneeling on the floor in pain. I look up, seeing 12 witches in a circle chanting as Bonnie is in the middle, screaming. One witch had her hand up, controlling the pain of Stefan.

Klaus slams Stefan up against a tree, "Not if the witches kill her first."

"No. Klaus, we need to save her." I state, walking towards Caroline who frantically walks forward to Bonnie.

"How? The only way to stop the witches is to kill them, and then Silas gets what he wants." Klaus says, but I ignore him, not caring about Silas but Bonnie.

"Spirits, take her soul. Free her from darkness." one of the witches raises her voice from the circle. She holds the dagger over Bonnie and screams in pain. I gasp, "No!"

Suddenly Caroline speeds into the circle and pulls the dagger into one of the witch's chest, killing her. "Oh, my god." I widen my eyes, my hands clasping over my mouth as Klaus screams in anger.

The witches forming the circle begin to drop dead and the torches' flames burn out. I run over to Caroline and Bonnie, kneeling down to shake her. "Bonnie!"

Bonnie opens her eyes and they're are a milky-white color. She smiles, "The triangle is complete."

§

The next morning I found myself in Bonnie's room. After last night, Bonnie had returned to her old self and the last thing she remembered was being at the island. Meaning, the whole time she was here, she was controlled by Silas and has no memory of what happened.

Bonnie was nowhere to be found. Stefan was also here last night. I pull out my phone, seeing a ton of missed calls and messages from Klaus. I furrow my eyebrows, about to call him back, but Caroline's name rings on my phone.

I slide on my phone and answer her. "Hey, Caroline. Do you know where Bonnie is? I stayed over with Stefan and neither of them are here." I say and get my bag, leaving Bonnie's house.

"Stefan went to Willoughby with Damon to find Elena and I think Bonnie went to her mom's." she says and I nod, getting in my car and starting it.

"Are you able to meet me? I'm running three prom committees right now and I need your help." Caroline asks me and I shrug, even thought she cannot see me.

"Yeah, I can. I just have to stop by Klaus'. He keeps calling me and I want to make sure he's alright." I tell her, making my way over to his house.

"Aw," Caroline teases and I roll my eyes. "For once I'm hoping he's alright so you can get here. So, be quick!" Caroline states before hanging up the phone.

After driving around for awhile, I arrive at Klaus'. It wasn't long before I found myself in Klaus' living room where he's shirtless, moaning in pain, leaning on a piano seat.

I drop my bag, running over to him. "Klaus?! What the hell happened to you?" I ask, cupping his face. "I need more time. Stop hounding me!" he yells at me and I furrow my eyebrows, taking my hands away from his face.

"I'm hounding you?" I stand up from my feet, crossing my arms. "Tell me what happened, so I can help you."

Klaus looks up at me, his face softening. "Maya. Is it really you?" he asks, struggling and pulls himself onto the piano seat and leans back against the piano. "Prove it to me."

"Prove it to you? What am I supposed to do?" I question, no ideas coming to mind. "Listen, I'm supposed to be helping Caroline run three different prom committees and if you don't tell me what's going on, I'll leave."

"Silas. He stabbed me with the white oak stake. There's a– a piece of it stuck inside me." he tells me and I tilt my head, widening my eyes.

"Wait, why would Silas attack you?" I ask, walking back towards him. "Well, I was in no position to ask questions. Suffice it to say, I'm hurt."

I frown and look around the room, rubbing my hands on my arm. "What do you want me to do?"

"Well, it's quite simple, really. I need you to cut the stake out of me." Klaus concedes, pointing down at a pair of bloody pliers lying on the rug. I look at them, then back at Klaus.

I bend over to grab the pliers and turn back to him. "Turn around." I instruct and he does as told, turning around. I stare at his back where there was a gaping wound at the top corner.

"I don't think I can do this, Klaus. It's gonna hurt." I sigh, putting my hands down. "Just do it, Maya." he tells me, his voice shuddering in pain.

I give him a disappointing look before taking the pliers into his wound, searching around for the white oak stake. Klaus gasp in pain, but I continued to look.

After awhile, I was still digging in his back and I could not find the white oak stake anywhere. "Klaus, it's not in here." I say, trying to convince him, but he seemed to get angrier.

"It is there. I can feel it piercing against my heart." he tells me and I let out a sigh, knowing that I checked near his heart about a thousand times and there was no piece of wood in there.

I shake my head, taking the pliers out once again. "I'm telling you, there's nothing in there." I reply, setting the useless took on the piano.

Klaus spins around to face me, slowly at first. "You're not looking hard enough." he responds, anger lingering in his voice. "Give me the pliers. I'll finish off the dirty work myself since you'd rather be elsewhere."

I squint my eyes, grabbing the pliers and stepping towards him. "You're right. I'd rather be anywhere else, but I'm not. I am here, helping you and you keep giving me an attitude when I know damn well there's no piece of wood stuck in you."

It was like he completely ignored my words because he grabs the pliers from my hands and begins to stab it in his wound, hissing in pain.

"You said Silas staked you right?" I ask and he grunts, nodding. "And he was able to manipulate Bonnie. Maybe he can manipulate you too?" I suggest, brain storming thoughts together.

"I have no bloody idea what you're going at about, but if you don't help me–" Klaus starts, but I cut him off, "Listen! It makes sense, right? Silas can make you believe you're in pain when you really aren't."

He turns around, slowly walking towards me. "...and how do you suppose we get rid of this pain?" he questions and I look down, not knowing an answer to that.

I sit down on one of the sofas and begin to ponder as Klaus continues to groan in pain, aching at his wound. That was until I thought of an idea. It probably won't work, but it's worth a try.

I stand up from my seat and walk over to Klaus. He is knelt down, hissing in pain. I cup his face once again and he looks at me. I pull his face closer, connecting his lips and he almost immediately kisses back.

I pull away after a minute and his eyes were still closed. He is no longer slouching down in pain. I smile in accomplishment and watch as he slowly opens his eyes. "It's gone. The pain–it's gone."

I let my head rest on his forehead while letting out a huge sigh of relief. The only way to get rid of Silas' manipulation was to take the mind off of it.

"Thank you."
