《Rythian Enderbane》Chapter 3: Growing Up
Advertisement
Duncan had been teaching Rythian science for quite some time. First, he had to figure it out himself, of course,
but he had gone to school, unlike Rythian, and he just had to add on to what he learnt there.
In return, Rythian taught him magic. They learnt from each mother, practised with each other and everyday they became stronger.
Their home was a simple wooden shack that they had built years before, it only had two rooms, but they managed.
Duncan was becoming evermore successful in his pursuits of science, and the experiments he ran were promising. One fateful day, he had planned a knew experiment. This particular experiment required a test subject, however, and although he knew Rythian would be more than happy to be a guinea pig, the test was dangerous. Maybe if he were to leave out that little disclaimer....?
When Rythian arrived 'home' carrying newfound ingredients for a condenser (A magical item that - when combined with a few relays and a lot of energy collectors - takes energy from light so that it can multiply anything that you put in one slot, and create multiples) he found that Duncan was there waiting for him. The eery glint that flickered through his eyes signalled he was once again in need of assistance with one of his science projects. Rythian didn't mind helping him out, plus furthering their scientific knowledge would be helpful in the long term.
"Hey, Rythian...."
"Yeah, sure, I'll be your Guinea pig, so long as I don't have to eat that dreaded cheese again."
He looked stunned,
"Well, do you even want me to tell you-"
"Don't tell me what you're going to do to me, it normally just grosses me out. I'm sure you'll teach it to me at some point but let's just get this over with, okay?"

He nodded. I went to sit down on a large chair, made to be a couch. He turned away to get ready with his preparations. When he turned to me again he asked me to pull up my sleeve, as though he was a real doctor getting ready to give an injection. I did as I was told, a needle was barely anything compared to a sword. He dabbed clean a spot on my arm and then reached for the syringe. It was full of purple liquid.
"Now, I'm putting this straight into your bloodstream, so it's going to hurt."
I shrugged my shoulders, I could take pain.
He injected the strange substance into my arm and I watched it sink down. I could almost feel the stuff run up my arm. I felt it, cold, going through my shoulder. But then it hit my heart. I screamed in pain. I collapsed onto the ground, screeching and wailing. I tried to move but I lost all control of my limbs, when I moved it wasn't by my own will. I was still screaming but my hearing was fuzzy. My eyesight was blurred. I could just make out Duncan's white labcoat before I completely blacked out.
Duncan's POV
Rythian's screeches flew around my head, unforgiving and cruel. It was just going to add to the tangle of bad memories in my head. As he wailed his eyes went from a sea blue, like waves crashing over rocks, to shades of purple swirling over each other, in one small blink. He lay on the ground, unconscious. The only thing that told me he was still alive was the faint mumbles that escaped his lips as he lay there. I picked him up and lay him on the 'couch' with effort. I watched him. I knew what I had done. But I had no idea what I'd done to him. I knew the side effects were permanent and lethal. But I had no idea what they were. I knew it would have been dangerous. But I had no idea what I'd just leapt into.

Rythian's POV
I awoke with no thoughts. I literally thought I was dead. When the mental capacity to actually think came back, turned my head. It hurt. What a simple thing to do! And it actually made me flinch!
"What did you do to me, Duncan?" I asked, my voice hardly sounded like my own, it was sore from screaming so much last night.
"...I should have warned you..." He said, his head was down as though he was a dog who'd just been called a 'bad dog' by his owner.
"What, Duncan, What!" I didn't ask, I demanded. My head was spinning.
Duncan's POV
I looked up at the weak being on the splintered chair. I could see that a patch of skin near his heart was black, and that colour was spreading up toward his neck.
"I..."
"Tell me, god dammit!"
I saw the black creep over his chin and over his mouth, it quickened when he shouted.
"I injected you with endermen blood."
I said it loud and clear so that he didn't have to ask again, I was afraid his whole face would cover with the black infection.
Rythian's POV
I said nothing. I turned back to stare at the ceiling. That makes me part enderman... As a boy of only 15 years, this sounded pretty cool, quite frankly. I might be able to teleport, and to a boy of my age, being able to dissolve into a million little particles and then be put back together again wherever I wanted to, all in a matter of seconds, was awesome. So I just stared at the ceiling, feeling very optimistic.
All I said, was:
"Fair enough"

Kill the Harem
I was never a person who struggled with anything. Whatever I wanted to achieve, I achieved, except for finding a good reason for living. That was until I died. Perhaps it was karma, or perhaps it was some particularly sick god. I woke up in a world full of magic and encountered all these women who became romantically obsessed with me. It bears an uncanny resemblance to those garbage isekai series that I had the misfortune of reading in high school. The problem is, I loathe isekai. It got to the point where ever time I read about a busty elf-girl wanting to follow the protagonist, I wanted to throw something. It's illogical and it ruins the flow of the story. But now, I'm the one getting harassed by such illogical people? What complete and utter drivel. If any obsessive crazy person tries to make me theirs without even caring about my opinion, I'll f*cking kill them! I'll kill them all! I'm getting back home no matter what. My favorite manga hasn't finished yet and I want to read it to the end. Q&A Section Q: Is the protagonist mentally healthy? A: No, not even close. Q: Are all the female characters stupid? A: Barring extenuating circumstances, nobody rational would fall for a guy like the protagonist, so there's a bit of selection bias going on here. Q: Is this about a Gary Stu killing a bunch of irrational harem characters in a cliche isekai world? A: Go reread the title and the synopsis. Q: Do the women die because they won't sleep with the protagonist? A: No. I'm not sure where anyone got that from since it's entirely the opposite of what happens.
