《Fuck you Fred (a Fred Weasley love story)》Chapter Sixteen: The Yule Ball Part I
Advertisement
The Yule ball was here.
I was so ready for the most perfect night of my life. I had the perfect friends and the perfect date.
Cheesy I know.
"Whats up Frankielicoius," I asked Frankie, her brows furrowed and her face screwed up.
"I can't find my fucking shoes." She pulled on her hair a little with a sense of urgency.
I looked around nervously only to see Alica holding a black pair of heels and walking toward us.
"There we are my darling," Alica said as she kissed Frankie on the cheek in a mother-like way. Frankie smiled at her and nodded in thanks.
I had decided to do my hair slightly curled and in a half up half down. When I was ready, I told the girls; watch this and pulled out the silver box that Lee gifted me, a couple of hours ago. I opened it gently to have two dancing butterflies circle the dorm and land in my hair perfectly placed to cover my hair tie and compliment my shoes.
"Woah!" The girls exclaimed.
"Where did you get that" Angelina demanded dramatically.
"Lee made it for me" I smirked. "Early Christmas present."
"Well Godric, how I am going to top that?" Frankie sighed.
The other girls laughed a little and told me that it finalised the look.
"Okay, ladies gather around. Last-minute checks!" Frankie exclaimed.
"Lipgloss, mirrors and powder?" Angelina said.
"Check." We chimed in.
"Hair ties, cameras and wands?" Alica asked.
"Check."
"Confidence, beauty and joy" I happily mocked.
"Check."
"Oh and don't forget, condoms, extra underwear and a razor"
Silence.
We all at Frankie. "Guys it's the necessities!"
"Let's go meet our dates!" I laugh.

As we twisted around the spiral staircase and into the common room four boys came into site. Noah Coleman, Lee Jordan, George Weasley and Freddie.
Frankie's date was her boyfriend, Noah Coleman. They met first at the end of the staircase and his eyes followed her. She ran up to him for a quick kiss and I heard the mutterings of I love you's exchanged between them.
Alica met Lee at the foot of the staircase. Lee flashed his bright grin and twirled Alica around saying she looked beautiful.
Angelina's date was George, they had formed a great friendship quietly through their passion for quidditch, on and off the pitch. Months ago they had agreed to go together.
Lastly was me. As the girls cleared I walked through and down the steps to the boy who wouldn't leave me alone the whole school year. I am glad it was him. I didn't want anyone else. Fred's jaw hung open a little, admiring the blush pink dress that flowed out around me.

My heels tapped as I reached him. He took my fingertips in his to kiss the back of my hand, "M'lady." He bowed. I giggled. His broad shoulder was framed beautifully in the dress robes he was wearing. Black and white classically with a pink tie to match my dress. It seemed pretty perfect to me.
Katie appeared out of the dorm and flashed Angelina a grin. Katie wore a beautiful gold dress with off the shoulder straps. George shot her a knowing look and told Angelina that she could catch him up later.
Everyone kind of knew something was going on between the two but never ventured into it because it was too complicated and Angelina wasn't usually one to pour out her feelings. She kept herself a very good reputation, good grades and on her way to becoming quidditch captain. She had always had a huge fear of failure, but sometimes especially, in this case, she was viewing an opportunity with Katie as a chance to fail.
Angelina wasn't ready to tell people how she felt and I wasn't going to make her. All we could do was support her.

Fred and I were dancing and laughing and kissing happily at the ball. After we had finished showering eachother with sarcastic comments we were straight to the dance floor.
Everything about this night was amazing. I could see the decorations, the snow, the tables, the band. But nothing was as amazing as him. Fred's brown eyes stared into mine as one of my favourite songs played 'Magic works.'
My hand slipped into his and the other on his chest as I laid my head on his shoulder. Fred rested his chin on top of my head his free hand gripped my waist strong.
And dance your final dance
This is your final chance
To hold the one you love
You know you've waited long enough
"I have waited bloody long enough" Fred chuckled. We swayed faster as the chorus picked up. Fred twirled me around so my dress flowed out graciously. As I twirled back around to him his hands wrapped around my body. We threw out heads back in laughter as he twirled me around again a little too quickly and I slammed into his chest. I went on my tiptoes to reach his mouth and gave him a long kiss as the song ended.
So dance, your final dance.
'Cause this is, your final chance
"Let's go get some drinks." I said and pulled him off the dance floor.

We helped ourselves to the lemonade in the punch bowl. I took a sip and the sweet lemon fizzled my lips and tongue.
I licked my lips and smiled. I looked to see Fred staring at me.
"Good?" He asked.
"Oh yes, super yum, you should try some" I answered enthusiastically. After all, the elves had a way with food and drink like no other.
"Okay," Fred smirked and leaned down close to my face.
He looked me in the eye and I softly giggled.
Fred kissed and licked my lower lip, as I opened my mouth slightly, making my whole body tremble.
He pulled backed up, tutting his tongue.
"Hm..." He pondered. "Good."
I stood a little frozen at what he just did.
Fred Weasley would be the death of me.

I was dancing with Angelina, Alica and Frankie. We had ditched our dates for the moment. The girls were more important.
We jumped up and down to the rhythm of the music. Angelina pulled out a small flask and took a discreet gulp. "Have some!" She half-shouted half-whispered. Everyone took a gulp just like Angelina and it was my turn. I could even smell how strong that stuff. It probably wasn't even one of Angelina's concoctions that got you so drunk you had trouble waking up the next morning. I refused and pushed the flask away.
"Oh come on Randy. It will be fun" Frankie rolled her eyes and leered the bottle my way.
"Nah I'm good," I mumbled, suddenly feeling a little judged.
"You are no fun just have a bit" Angelina insisted.
"I said I don't want to" My hands were clammy and the music seemed a little too loud now.
"You're being a pussy Miranda" Angelina stared into my eyes with anger.
"I... I-" I looked to my friends for help. Frankies face looked confused as if she was about to say something but couldn't figure it out. Alica looked worried but small.
Angelina took another step forward and pressed the bottle into my chest "Drink it bitch."
Angelina looked angry, I had never seen her this drunk before.
I started to stumble back I thought I was going to fall. But someone behind steadier me and help onto my forearms.
"She said fucking no Angelina" Fred seethed. "Now get out of her face and run along to Katie so she can reject you all over again."
Angelina stood shocked, still clutching the flask. Fred took my hand and started to walk away but he stopped in his tracks and turned around to face Alica and Frankie.
"And you two, why were you just standing there! Huh? Fucking pathetic" Fred fumed.
We walked out of the ball.
"Darling, are you okay?" Fred questioned. I was feeling a little light-headed, my breath hadn't calmed down yet.
I nodded "Let's go someplace else."
Fred took me outside and to the bench near the bushes of the greenhouse. The fresh air filled my lungs and made me smile and replayed the events of what just happened in my head. The smell of the alcohol, the anger, Fred's shouting.
Before we sat down I turned to Fred to look at him. I could see how stressed he was. The glint of sweat brushed his forehead. He ran his hand through his hair and turned to look to me for the 500th in the past five minutes.
When he looked at me I reached out to touch his arm again. I stood and kissed his lips. Gentle, full and reassuring. Everything he needed. Everything I wanted to give him.
"Thank you, Fred."
"I am just glad I saw you when I did." He exhaled.
"They wouldn't have hurt me or anything, they are my best friends Freddie" I assured
"You don't know that."
"Actually I do. Angelina was just upset about Katie rejecting her. And she was drunk, sad and drunk. Angie was bound to turn angry... just didn't think it would be at me." I faltered.
"Still acted like a crazy bitch though," Fred remarked.
I elbowed his rib and laughed. "No one talks about my best friend like that."
"You're too forgiving," Fred murmured.
I could still hear the music playing, the once jamming rock now turned to a slow swift classical. I stood up and reached my hand out.
"May I have this dance, M'lady" I requested in my best impression of a deep-pitch-voiced man.
"Absolutely"
We spun and twirled around in the snow. I laughed so much pain was shooting up my ribs. My feet were freezing but I didn't care much, all I cared about was him.
All I cared about was Fred.
