The last of Max's back are finally packed and they all sit on his bed waiting for the last hour to be over.
Alix: Wait, so... We- We won't have any contact with you? Like, at all?
Max: No... Not for 2 years...
Kim: Damn...
Max: Listen, if you wanna break up with me, I'd be ok with that-
Kim: No way! We'll just right letters!
Alix: We'll even graduate to carrier pigeons if we have to!
Kim: Yeah- What are those again?
Alix: Like, those pigeons that you tie the letter too and they carry it to the person.
Kim: Oh yeah! Yeah, we'll do that!
Max: You guys are the best.
Mrs. Kanté appears in the doorway with her bags in hand and Markov hovering by her head.
Mrs. Kanté: Max, we've gotta get going now.
Markov: If we leave quickly, we will shave 20 minutes off the estimated arrival time.
Max: Ok...
Mrs. Kanté and Markov head out to the car to give Alix, Max and Kim a little more time.
Alix: At least you can visit over the summer! A-And for Christmas and stuff, right?
Max: (Sigh) I went through the schedule... They don't match at all. Even if I wanted to stay, there a child laws and other stuff to deal with.
Kim: So... You really gotta go?
Max: Yeah...
Alix: We'll visit you then!
Max: That's a great idea band all, but you and I both know that your guys' parents aren't gonna let you guys take time off school just to go to the states.
He grabs his suitcases and they all leave the house and stand outside waiting for something to happen so Max doesn't have to leave.
Kim: We'll think of something.
Alix: Yeah, we swear.
Max: That's sweet, really, but I don't think there's a way out of this.
He gets in the car and Max and Kim watch them drive down the street and turn the corner before turning and starting to walk back to the hotel.
Alix: Stupid child laws...
Kim: Stupid fucking child services...
Kim holds Alix's hand with his arm around her while she wipes the tears out of her eyes.
Kim: You ok?
Alix: I'm fine, ok?
Kim: You're crying...
Alix: No, I-
Kim: I'm gonna miss him too, Alix.
Alix: Mhm...
They're about to walk through the doors when Kacey crashes into them with Marinette flying off his back being caught by Alix.
Marinette: OH! OH! OH MY! OH!
Kacey: I-I'M SORRY!
Marinette: YOU THREW ME!
Kacey: I SAID I WAS SORRY!
Marinette: I AM TRAUMATIZED! Y-Y'know what? I-I'm gonna go hang with the girls. Let's go Alix.
Alix: Yeah, ok. Kim, catch you later?
Kim: Sure.
Alix, Kim, Marinette and Kacey head up to the 11th floor and while Marinette and Alix go into Kagami and Luka's room, Kim and Kacey ho hang out with the other guys in Nino and Juleka's room.
Lila: MARI!
Chloe: SIS!
Kagami: YOU'RE OK!
Juleka: WHAT DID HE DO TO YOU!?
Alix: Wait, wait, wait! What's going on?
Juleka: Oh yeah, I forgot you were with Max and Kim. So, long story short, Mari's been gone since, like, 8 PM, and everyone was freaking.
Chloe: We were so worried about you! What did that bastard do!?
Marinette takes a deep breath before starting to tell them all what happened from beginning to end. From the time they left the hotel to just now.
With all the girls comforting her they slowly build up the courage to finish telling their story making sure to go into detail so Kagami can record it for a court testimony.

When they finish their story an hour later all the girls are offering her words of encouragement and comfort while making sure to keep a look out for any Akumas.
Marinette: I-I'm S-Sorry, girls... I-I really sh-shouldn't be b-bothering any of you...
Kagami: What!? No! You aren't bothering anyone, Mari!
Chloe: Yeah! Nobody deserves anything like this!
Juleka: Yeah, that's right!
Alix: We're gonna be behind you all the damn way!
Lila: Yeah, we are!
Marinette: Thanks girls...
All the girls surround Marinette in a hug and Alix hits Juleka upside the head with a pillow.
Juleka: Hey! No fair!
Alix: Well, that's what happens when you don't pay atten- Gah!
She's blind sided by Kagami throwing a few throw pillows and falls on top of Lila.
Lila: Get off me, Alix! You're heavy!
Alix: I am not!
Lila: Are so!
Everyone grabs some pillows and starts hitting each other and laughing together while Kacey and the others are out looking for Nino.
After a few hours, it now being 2 in the morning, when all the girls are sleeping, sprawled out on the floor, Chloe's phone starts ringing with a call from Jason.
She feels around and grabs her phone off the ground and answers the call.
Chloe: Jason...?
Jason: I know you just woke up, so I'm gonna tell you this now because I know you're gonna forget this convo in the morning and because Kacey and Luke won't stop grilling me until I tell you.
Chloe: Uh huh...?
Jason: I... I... I really, really, really like you! I guess you could even say I-I love you! I know everyone thinks you're selfish and mean and-and that you don't care about anyone but yourself, but I know better. You're not selfish, you're not mean, and I know for a fact that you care about me more than I could ever know.
Chloe: Uh huh...
Jason: What I'm trying to say is...that...I love you, ok? I love you, a lot, and- and when we're older, I wanna make you mine, forever! I- I wanna be the first face you see in the morning and the last you see at night! I wanna hold you, hug you, and kiss you until you get tired of it! I love you so much it physically hurts... It-It hurts so much, Chloe...but I love it, don't you?
Chloe: Y-Yeah... Yeah...
Jason: It's like you're a drug, and I'm so fucking addicted. I love it though. I swear on everything I am, that I will make you mine. Having you as my best friend is great. Having you as my girlfriend would be even better, but... But, having you as my wife? Having you as my wife would be better than anything in the world.
Marc: C'mon, man, we've gotta find Nino! You can talk to your girlfriend later!
Jason: Can it, Emo boy! I gotta go. Love you, Queen.
Chloe: Yeah... You too...
Jason hangs up the call and Chloe puts her phone back down before quickly falling back asleep, not knowing that she had her call recorder on.
It's now 4 in the morning when Marinette's phone starts ringing with a call from Kim. They groggily feel around until they find their phone and answers it.
Marinette: What...?
Kim: We're all at the police station in our part of Paris. They collard Nino.
Marinette: W-What!?
They start rushing around trying to find some shoes and a jacket to put on.
Kim: Yeah. They took- Hey!
Detective: Is this Marinette Dupain-Cheng?
Marinette: Yes, this is them?
Detective: I'm detective Grayson. Are you in any way related to Nino Lahiffe?
Marinette: He's my honorary brother, why?
Detective: Because we found him beating Adrien Agreste with a metal pipe. When we took him in for questioning, all he's been repeating is, "He raped my baby sister. That bastard raped her." We asked for a name and he gave us, "Marinette Dupain-Cheng".
Marinette: Fuck...
Detective: We've sent a squad car to come to the hotel to get you. Is that alright?
Marinette: Y-Yes, Ma'am. Is there a way to tell them not to turn on the sirens? My friends are sleeping and I really don't want them to get woken up.
Detective: I've sent them instructions not to use the sirens. They're out front now.
Marinette: O-Ok.
They hang up and go outside to see a police car out front waiting for them. They get in the car and for the whole drive, everything is dead silent.
They get to the police station and when Marinette walks in, they see all the guys sitting in the lobby in handcuffs.
Kacey: Before you ask what we did, promise you won't be angry.
Marinette: Depends on what you did.
Kacey: Promise!
Marinette: Ok, ok! I promise I won't be angry!
Kacey: We're all here for resisting arrest, trespassing on private property, and assault on an officer. But, we had a very good reason!
Marinette: Which is?
Luka: We were trying to defend Nino, and most of us were trynna get our lick back for what he did! If you ask me-
Marinette: I didn't, but keep talking.
Luka: If you ask me, that seems like a VERY good reason, does it not!?
Marinette: It does, but that still doesn't make you right. Now, just get me to an interrogation room. So help me God, if I see any men in that room-
Detective Grayson: I will actually be the one doing the interrogating.
Marinette: That's great! No offence, but-
Detective Grayson: We understand perfectly. Now, let's get this over with as quickly and smoothly as possible.
She leads Marinette to an interrogation room and on the way there, Marinette sees Adrien in one of the rooms talking to his lawyer and they start to hyperventilate.
Marinette: N-No! NO! NO, NO! WHY- WHY IS HE HERE!? WHY-
Detective Grayson: Don't worry! Don't worry, Marinette, he can't hurt you anymore. You're completely safe here.
Marinette: I-I wanna see Nino! I-I want my brother! Where's Nino!?
Detective Grayson: I can take you to him, Marinette. Would you like to go now?
Marinette: P-Please?
Detective Grayson: Ok, c'mon.
Detective Grayson helps Marinette calm down and takes her to Nino's room. They walk in and can see him sitting peacefully at his table repeating the words, "He raped her." over and over in a full voice before he finally notices them and jumps up from his chair.
Nino: Mari! Did they tell you what I did? I was so badass! I was a total badass, right?
Marinette: Y-Yeah, you were awesome, b-but... What- What happened to- to your head?
They point to a spot where a large bump is formed on his head and he touches it, then winces.
Nino: Oh, that. It was just from when they slammed me on the ground. I wasn't resisting, they just slammed on the ground. They put my handcuffs on super tight too, see?
He holds up his hands and you can still see imprints of the metal handcuffs surrounding his wrists.
Marinette: Nino...
Nino: I'm trynna figure why they all had their guns pointed at me. I had a weapon, yeah, but so did Marc. He got a "drop it", which I understand, but they all had their guns on me, and I don't know why.
Marinette: Nino, did you ever have a talk with your mom about...police brutality and racial profiling?
Nino: I've heard those terms thrown around a few times, but I don't know anything about it. Is is bad? Did I do something wrong?
Marinette looks at Detective Grayson who just looks down in shame and shakes her head.
Detective Grayson: Kid, we need to have a very serious talk.
She sits them both down and starts going over the basics of the standard black vs. white status while also interviewing Marinette about what happened.
It's been about 3 hours now and it's now 7 in the morning. Nino finally understands that he was racially profiled and Marinette finishes the interview faster than expected.
Nino and Marinette are taken out of the interrogation room and back to the lobby where they see all the guys have already been taking home and Adrien standing at the door with a giant smile on his face.
Nino wraps his arms protectively around Marinette who is quivering in fear.
Nino: What's he doing here? Shouldn't he be in a holding cell somewhere?
Adrien's lawyer comes up to them and hands Nino some papers that he looks over and after finishing all he can see is red.
Nino: WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU AREN'T CHARGING HIM!? HE RAPED MY BABY SISTER! HE'S A FUCKING RAPIST AND YOU'RE JUST GONNA LET HIM GO!
Marinette: N-Nino, s-stop...
Nino: NO! THIS ISN'T FAIR! THEY HAVE THE EVIDENCE, THEY HAVE THE DNA, AND THEY HAVE WITNESSES THAT SAY THEY SAW HIM GO INTO THAT BUILDING! WHY AREN'T YOU CHARGING HIM!?
Captain Lee: We can't do anything. If we do, then our entire department is shut down, any and all homeless shelters will close, children's orphanages will be closed down, and all inmates in any jail in Paris will be set free. We're backed into a corner and had no choice.
Marinette looks at Adrien who has a sick smile on his face with tears falling down theirs. Nino looks at his broken little sister and all he can do is stand and watch.
He decides that he won't just stand there and do nothing anymore. He grabs the gun from Captain Lee's holster and before anyone can blink he pins Adrien to the ground with the gun pressed against his head.
Nino: YOU BASTARD! YOU KNEW MAX WAS LEAVING! YOU KNEW THAT IF HE LEFT, WE'D HAVING NOTHING AGAINST YOU! YOU PLANNED EVERYTHING!
He presses Adrien's face into the ground and all the officers in the lobby train their guns on Nino, whose hand in shaking with the gun in it.
Marinette: Nino, put the gun down...
Nino: I'M GONNA PUT LEAD IN HIS FUCKING HEAD FIRST!
Marinette: That's not gonna solve anything, and you know that.
Nino: Y-YES IT WILL! HE'LL BE DEAD AND HE WON'T EVER HURT YOU AGAIN!
Marinette: Will that change anything that's already happened though?
Nino: Well, no...b-but-
Marinette: What would Chris say if he saw you right now? Do you think he'd be proud of his big brother?
Nino: I...I don't...
Marinette: You don't know? Or is it the fact that you feel you have something to prove to me that's making you do this?
Nino: I-I just wanna be there...for you and for Chris...
Marinette: You always are, Nino. Look at yourself, bro... What happened to the Nino that always wanted to talk it out before going to the whole "let's go kick butt" thing?
Nino: He died when this bastard decided to start talking with his dick!
Marinette: No, no he didn't. I know he's still in there somewhere. You don't really wanna do this, Nino. You don't really wanna kill anyone. I know you, and I know that you don't wanna do this.
Nino: SHUT UP!
Marinette: DROP THE GUN! DROP IT! DROP IT NOW!
Nino cocks the gun and all the officers in the room get ready to take fire.
Nino: I SAID SHUT UP!
Marinette: DROP IT! DROP THE DAMN GUN! PUT IT DOWN!
Nino: STOP IT!
Marinette: DON'T DO THIS! P-Please... How am I gonna explain this to Chris? I can't tell him you died on my watch, Nino... I can't do that...
Nino looks up at all the cops who have their guns on him and Marinette who's looking at him trying not to cry. He unloads the gun and slides both the bullet holder and the gun itself across back to the captain separately.
He picks Adrien up by his collar and belt and tosses him into some metal tables.
Nino: Come anywhere near my sister- or any of my family at all for that matter- and I will make your life a living hell! I hope I've made myself clear.
He grabs Marinette and they get on Jason's motorcycle that he left for them and start going back to the hotel.
Adrien: (Oh, you've made yourself VERY clear on where you stand, Nino. Very clear.)
He gives his lawyer a stern look and she nods back. She takes out he phone and starts talking to someone almost immediately. After about 5 minutes she hangs up and looks at Adrien who just looks calm and collected.
Adrien: Is it done?
Adrien's lawyer: Yes. Everything is going exactly as you want, Mr. Agreed.
Adrien: Great!
He goes outside and they both get into his limo that's just pulled up and start going back to his mansion.
Adrien: (If I can't have Marinette, then I'll just ruin her for anyone else. Starting with that fucking pretty boy that practically worships the ground she walks on.)
He chuckles to himself and opens his Instagram to a DM from Rose.
He closes his DMs with Rose and opens the link for the editors Instagram. He sends any photos of Kacey and Marinette and of himself assaulting her to this mystery editor along with a message that says, "Make it look like this girl is with another man. It's for a loyalty test."
The man responds with, "Ok. You'll have the pics in 3 hours tops." Adrien wires him a large sum of $500,000 with an, "Alright 👍" and shuts off his phone.
They finally reach the hotel and Adrien goes to his room and turns on his TV like nothing ever happened.
Adrien: Timing and precision are everything, Marinette. It's only a matter of time before you realize that.
He laughs to himself knowing that Marinette doesn't know that their going to be watching their life crumble before their eyes.

Sweet Minds

By the end of the week the mysterious train accident turns out to be the least of her problems. Her life was never supposed to become this serious this fast. Through an improbable and unfortunate series of events she is soon introduced to a motley crew of characters that appear to be carrying the same struggles through life. They possess a familiar sense of inadequacy and insecurity. Marith realizes that for the first time in her life she has found herself a tribe, or, as they prefer to call it, a Chain. 8 578Deviant Rule
When their world changed, everyone began chasing the same thing. The emergence of an energy that could make you strong enough to take anything you wanted changed everyone. They blinded themselves to a part of the world's new truth. For them, the only truth was that the powerful would rule the weak. Alius was someone different from all of them. A deviation from the plan. It made him hated. His only question was why? Why did they think his path was wrong? Maybe... they were the ones who had made a mistake. (The warnings are mainly to give myself creative freedom in the future. While we're here, I would also like to warn you that there will be a decently chaotic release schedule. Add that to the first-time experience and you have a crappy story that might get better. Enjoy what you can!)
