《AN UNEXPECTED ENCOUNTER》CHAPTER 23

[This line reminds me so much of this bickering duo]
Easton flexed his aching back as he entered the office where two other gentlemen were ready to welcome him. "Good morning, guys" he greeted with a strained voice.
"Woah, you look like a mango that got all its pulp sucked up" Tib comments cackling, he grabs a mango out of the thin air, because he felt like eating it now. Easton glares his way and sits down on the alpha chair. The half-vampire was comfortable on his customized chair, whereas, Duncan sat on the chair right in front of his alpha.
"Well, let's say my mate decided that I was not supposed to smile when he was suffering from the consequences of something I did" the alpha sighed. "And I got to sleep on the couch"
"Thanks to you" the alpha cursed his wolf.
You blame me? I have no idea either why did I go so overboard. I just couldn't control myself. One touch led to other and things happened. It was crazy.
"Ugh. How will you convince Blake on this?"
I am very charming.
"That is why I like that man so much" Tib comments to which Duncan manages to laugh a bit. "He does just whatever he thinks first, thinks it is right. I like his dumb-self" he grinned with the sweet delight in his mouth.
Easton glances and shuts him up with it. "You don't look wonderful yourself, mind telling us why?" the alpha directs the question towards the beta. Duncan had big eye bags with almost bloodshot eyes from lack of sleep. His complexion was paler than the day he was bought to the hospital.
"I'm fine-"
"No, you are not. Stop pretending, Duncan. What is it?". Easton uses his alpha voice to know the truth. Tib has also noticed the beta's body and voice getting weaker but he left it to the alpha to question.
Duncan takes a deep breath and opens his grey eyes. "He isn't responding, Alpha" he states in a line. Arion had not shown any sign of improvements, Duncan had tried his best to talk to the wolf but his presence was decreasing with time.
The seriousness in his voice threw Easton off the edge. Tib brought his chair down and gestured to Duncan with his finger. "I will kill you if you think of kissing me again" Duncan put his hands in defense, the karate defense. Easton was not even surprised and just waved off the duo.
"I am not in a mood, Duncan. And I have moved on, I like Blake now" he finished with a wink earning a life-threatening growl from his right. "Ugh! Anyways, let me check what's wrong with you" he says as Duncan carefully takes his steps.
"You are a doctor now?" the beta asks once he stood close enough to the vampire.
"I can be whatever I want and whenever I want" he states closing his eyes and placing his palm over Duncan's chest. He takes a deep breath, with his lips moving, and brows furrowed. Duncan watched the man with confusion on his face, while Easton was laid back. He knew that this will be fine.
After a while, Tib opens his eyes which were all violet now. "They injected him with Silver" he declares with a weak voice as he took his hand off immediately.
"Bastards!" Easton slam on the table hearing the news. Silver was a very dangerous thing for werewolves and vampires. If the amount sent is adequate enough it would easily kill a grown werewolf. And burn the skin of a vampire, which also ends up with death.

Easton walked to the cabinet next to the books rack and grabbed the first aid box. "You're skin is burnt, Tib. Give it to me" the alpha orders when the vampire tries to shake off.
"This is nothing -"
"TIB!" the anger in his voice made the half-vampire submit with a whine. The man had a smile on his face watching his friend clean the burnt wound and band-aid it. There weren't many people in his life that cared about him. Watching someone do such as treating his injury was a new feeling.
"I'm so sorry" the beta apologizes as he sat right back on the chair, his legs giving away.
"No, Duncan. It's all good. This is nothing compared to what you got inside, and Arion has taken everything he can, to save you" the vampire states making Duncan's heartbreak.
"No...." he says, tears stinging his eyes. Arion was a big mouth, idiot, pervert, and a horny bastard. But, he was Duncan's wolf. His other-half. Duncan could barely imagine living without someone who was there for him when he sneaked into the Knights' household for Ezra. Who stayed up with him for long nights when he had terrible nightmares about his parents. Who was the first one to answer his every question which wasn't even directed towards him.
Once, Easton was done treating the wound. He put the box back and sat in his seat.
"What can we do now?" he asks being the most conscious one in the room. Tib stays silent to ponder for few minutes before opening his mouth to state the outcomes of this situation.
"The silver was injected on various occasions. Arion must have been in full power while the injections were given which affected him a lot and rather less to you" Tib explains which Duncan nods with his eyes still full. "We should get it out as soon as possible. The effects are clearly visible on his body" he gestures to the tired body of Duncan, that couldn't stand for more than ten minutes.
"And how could we get that out, Tib? It's obviously hurting you to even touch it" Easton questions. Sure Duncan was in danger but he couldn't possibly watch two of his best friends suffer together with his naked eye. One was already enough.
"There is another thing but they are very rare to find, Easton" the half-vampire lets out.
"And what is it? We can try anything and everything, Tib. He needs to live" No one dared to admit what the silver would do, if not taken off. It was not an imaginable thing. And also something which you can't waste your time thinking of, rather thinking of a solution.
"You can't track one werewolf, who is immune to silver easily, Easton. That too in speeding time. And Duncan needs a wolf like that asap" he concludes stroking Duncan's hair who was weakly laying with his head back.
There remained silent in the room, as no one dared to speak a word. A werewolf immune to silver? Easton had not heard anything like this all his life. The metal was the werewolf kinds biggest enemy, despite the wolf's bane. This is going to be hard.
I know one. Aziel says after a lot of thought.
"What? Who?"
Silver...
"Silver?"
Yes, Silver is that one wolf that is immune to the metal and thus he was named after it. The alpha wolf says with determination.
"Ezra..."
Easton's mind was playing games with him, he had no idea what he should decide on. Will this affect Ezra in any way? Having no mate will also destroy him. Well, let Tib decide. "Aziel says Silver, Duncan's mate, is immune to the metal," Easton tells.

"Really? That makes things easy" Tib says with a smile. "We should talk to Silver about this. I'm sure he already knows things about this" he lets out with his hand on Duncan's chest again. "By the way, nice pecs"
---------------------------
"Thanks for today, Blake. Your notes helped me catch up" Ezra says as they walk out of the school. Zander took an off for reasons, so it was only them today.
"Well, you can count on me with Geography. Rest all doesn't make my mind work" he shrugs off making the young alpha smile. It was good to see Ezra smile, he became very quiet and reserved for some time now. And Blake didn't even know what to question. So, he concluded it to be his worry for Duncan.
"Oh, brother," Ezra says looking in a direction that Blake follows to stop at the tall man, he called his mate. He averts his gaze immediately as they walk to the red car. "What's wrong?" Ezra nudges Blake for his weird behavior.
"I'm not talking to him" Blake states in a monotone.
"And why is that?" the young alpha asks.
"'Cause-"
Cause he played with me hard until I came over and over again. And Blake here doesn't want to admit it that he loved it.
"Oh my goddess, Kai. You are being shameless"
Says you...
"Shut up, Kai"
"Forget that I asked," Ezra says watching pink staining the alpha's cheek. "Easton" the younger brother rushes to the other alpha with the brightest smile.
"Hey," the older brother stroked Ezra's hair with an affectionate smile. The younger alpha didn't look all that good either. He was getting weaker and it was showing on his body. "How are you?" the alpha asked looking in the eyes of his brother. He wanted an honest answer.
"I'm good-" Ezra stopped his prepared answer when he looked into his brother's gaze. "I'm trying" he smiled at the end to assure his elder one that even though he isn't doing all good he's trying his best to.
"Okay..." Easton trails off his eyes landing on his gorgeous mate who was lazily walking towards them. Blake did not have any interest in the other one coming to pick them up until his eyes landed on the half-vampire who had a tremendous crowd around him.
"Sir Tib" the alpha tried to run past the brother duo but Easton held on to him by the wrist. "Let go, asshole" he struggled against Easton's hold while Ezra watched with amusement. "Sir Tib" he shouted over his lungs to catch the attention of the man that was flirting with a girl around Blake's age.
"Oh?" a smirk formed on Tib's lips as he watched the mates struggling for him. It was way too flattering. "I'll see you tonight, sweetie" he winked at the girl who kept nodding, being mesmerized by the stunning smile. He dispersed the crowd and walked to the duo. "What's up?"
"Sir Tib, tell this man to let go of me," Blake said squirming his wrist while Easton glared at Tib with visible 'I dare you to'.
"No can do, sweetheart, you are stuck with this mutt for life. And I value my balls way too much. So thank you" the vampire worded making Easton roll his eyes. Well, that was his intention with Aziel growling.
"Ugh! Easton, let go" he glares at his mate who gave in to the gaze and dropped Blake's hand. Before the young alpha could move an inch, he grabs him by the waist and holds him in his arms. "Easton!!"
Easton had his arms folded around Blake's waist as he settled his head on his mate's shoulder pulling him more closer. The act took Blake by surprise as he stopped struggling. "I'm sorry" he whispered which was clearly audible to the other two. Blake just blinked in the daze he was with a lot of emotions flowing through the touch. "Hm? Hm? Hm?" he snuggled further into his neck tickling Blake and making him shiver. In the public.
Ezra had his mouth dropped open while Tib watched with a smirk. The crowd in the school area had their foot stopped working, was this really the Easton Knight they knew? Easton had never acted sorry or this childlike before. To begin with, he was a very adult child even when he was supposed to act childish. But, this wasn't new to Blake, he watched his mate behave like this before. He was just like a big puppy. "I-I get it, Easton. Now let go" Blake replied with his skin burning red.
"Promise?" Easton pulled back, keeping his arms still crossed over the other alpha's waist. His nose touched Blake's with their lips mere inches away. Blake looked into Easton's eyes and could Aziel peeking out with puppy eyes. No one here would know the ruthless alpha wolf Aziel was the one who was asking for forgiveness which made him chuckle and nod his head a yes.
"Promise" he finished which returned the glitter in the alpha's eyes.
"Thank you" the older alpha kissed Blake tight on the lips caring least about the surrounding. Blake pushed Easton by the chest and walked ahead in the car. Recovering once his mate was gone, Easton looked at Ezra who had his mouth touching the ground. "Ahem," he stood straight and looked at Tib gesturing him to talk about the things for which they have come.
"Right! Ezra, we need to talk to Silver" Tib declared grasping the attention of the younger alpha.
I don't want to.
"It's important, Silver. Please" Tib pleads within the link making Ezra and Silver shock but nod nevertheless.
-----------------------
"So, you telling me that I got to try talking to Arion first, then try to extract the silver from him to keep him safe in..... some way" Silver confirms the words Tib told him.
"That someway is body fluids, Silver" Tib retorts with an eye roll.
"I don't want you to explain it to me. I understood, so shut up" the wolf replies. Silver hated the idea of even talking to Arion. However, he could feel that the wolf was weaker than ever which earned a soft spot in his heart. And Duncan was the innocent being who was unaware of his wolf's doings. "Fine, when?" he replies after so much pondering.
"Now?" Easton replied who sitting next to Blake on the couch in the study while Silver sat on the stool beside Duncan who was fast asleep. Silver unconsciously stroked Duncan on the head, as the beta leaned into the touch despite being mindless.
"I get it" he agreed which brought a smile to everyone's face.
"But, Silver you, how-?" Ezra knew his wolf's struggle. It was hard for him to even stand his mate's presence, talking to him and touching the man would be another level.
I got this, Ezra. Don't worry. The wolf replied with a smile.
"You will have to talk to the wolf first since you are his mate things are easier" Tib instructs which makes Silver nod. "Everyone else, please step outside. I will also leave the room, once Arion responds to your calls or whenever you want me to"
"Okay" Easton and Blake walk out of the leaving Silver and Tib with Duncan.
"Do you think this will work?" Blake asks closing the door of the study.
"I'm not sure but I trust Tib" the other alpha replies.
"Yeah, Sir Tib will do it" Blake nods off which triggers Easton. He pulls Blake by the waist, close to his body.
"Why do you keep calling him "sir"? Are you being kinky now?" The older alpha questions, making Blake smile amusingly.
"Are you being jealous, Mr. Knight?" Blake retorts finding this very entertaining. He pats the older alpha on the shoulders which a sly smirk sitting on his lips.
"So what if I am" he pulls Blake more closer, the sparks evident through their bond. "You are mine" he continues making Blake shudder in his hold.
"Uh-huh," the younger alpha replies, both of them moving unconsciously towards each other's lips.
"As much as I'm sure I will enjoy this, it's very inappropriate to do in the middle of a corridor," Tib says with his face inches away from the mates. Both the alphas turn to the voice just to scramble away at the closeness to them.
"Holy shi-" Blake catches his heart which nearly exploded.
"Also, you guys stink of heat energy, do something about it as soon as possible, it's killing me" Tib shivers and walks away, blocking his nose.
"Heat?" Both of their faces showed expressions of horror.
--------------------------
[A/N: Guys, in my mind, I have decided the wolves' before life to be exactly like the normal but a little bit of ancient with no technology, buildings, and stuff. The features of the wolves' would be the same as a human but a change of face structures compared to their humans now]
"Hey," Silver starts the conversation. Duncan was still conscious and Arion was still not sensible but the wolf had to try. He asked Tib to step out to have a private conversation within the four walls. "Let me tell you this clearly before you get your hopes up, I'm doing this for Duncan and Ezra. And I still don't want to look at your face" he continues in a sassy tone making Ezra laugh.
He takes a deep breath pondering into the topics he might start talking about. Like their first meet. "Remember when you stumbled across the red-lake in the afternoon that day. You looked like a cooked potato. Not like you would look any different now" the wolf chuckled remembering the day.
Ezra was having a hard time believing, listening to his wolf act this playful. He was the kind to be quiet and reserved all the time. This was so different. And it was a good difference.
"You wet my whole book. It was my favorite one, you asshole. And then you started apologizing while wearing nothing. I was horrified" he visibly shivers, holding his chest. "It was one epic of a first meeting. Then we met again at the big pack library. I didn't know you were the kind to read something" he pauses recalling the moments. Duncan was still asleep while the other wolf continued.
"I thought it was a coincidence, but it happened three more times" he chortles. "I was such a coward to even confront you regarding it, so I stayed quiet until you approached me on your own" he smiled making his human smile too. "That day at the packhouse when Aziel was training us, you sneaked me by the hand to the apple tree" he snickers but his eyes said the opposite with tears flooding them.
Ezra was so quiet in the back hearing to the truth he pleaded with Silver to tell him, thousands of times.
"R-remember the first thing you told me? Like hell you do, but I remember it word-to-word. You said-"
"Your eyes are the most prettiest thing I have ever seen" the voice made goosebumps raise throughout Silver's body with his eyes full. "They still are.." Silver looked with wide eyes towards the bed where Duncan was asleep, but now his wolf was laying on his back with his eyes shining yellow with black stripes.
"You-" the words were hard to form and tears were hard to stop. Silver licked his dry lips and wiped off his tears. "Good, that you are awake," he says with all his cheerful voice gone. "Tib said we need to get that silver out of your system" he continues avoiding Arion's gaze.
"Silver..." the wolf pleads in a weaker voice earning a tear from the other wolf. Silver had no idea why was he crying, maybe the story he didn't want to think of again, triggered his feelings which made his eyes weep. The first meeting, the first words, Arion and everything was very overwhelming to survive.
Silver closes his eyes and opens them with determination to look at his mate. "Yeah? You need anything?" he pretends. "We got some fruits here" he gets up from the stool and walks to the fridge in the corner. He grabs an apple and two oranges leaving the kiwis behind because he knew Arion didn't like them. "Here, I will peel off some orange for you" he sets the plate down while Arion watched him with his eyes almost closing.
"Sil-Silver-" he manages again making the wolf finally look at him. He finds Arion smiling with a glint in his eyes. "I missed you..." he admits making a tear slip down the other wolf's cheek. "I-I mi-ss-" the words were difficult to sort with his energy wearing off.
Silver puts away the plate he was holding on the side table and stands up the stool only to bend forward and push his lips against Arion. This takes everyone by surprise especially the beta. Placing his hand on Arion's jaw, he presses his thumb on the wolf's chin to open his mouth for him.
