[I don't know if you guys are really good at remembering names or not. But, I suck at them. That's definitely me when writing a chapter and can't remember the fucking names I have given to my own characters. So here's a thing for you and most importantly for me and my lost mind😌]

It was past midnight. The guards on duty were at the borders and gates. The alpha couple was asleep with the rest of the pack. It was the usual time for the beta of the pack to do rounds before going to sleep. So like the usual, Duncan was on rounds. He checked around the whole packhouse, on the four sides which were guarded by two guards each.

Arion took over to sprint towards the borders which had heavy and increased security after the attacks last week. After making sure everything was in its place, Arion took over towards the Knight household which was five minutes away on a walk which means less than thirty seconds for Arion.

After witnessing huge chaos on Wednesday and two missing alphas yesterday for reasons, the whole family was now back to their house where the former alpha lived peacefully with his family. The house was modern and good-sized where kids could bring over friends and play in the backyard. The older couple and Elena had their own rooms and also Easton. Whereas Ezra and Elias shared a room. There was a spare room for any guests. And as of now, everyone in the house was deep asleep except one, Ezra.

In the room which he shared with his younger brother Elias, Ezra was wide awake and pacing like a maniac. If anyone could peak from above and watch Ezra awake at this hour would literally die of shock. 'Cause, this was Ezra Knight we are talking about. Though Ezra followed his older brother in every aspect, he turned out to be more disciplined and punctual than his brother himself. His routine was fixed from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. sharp.

But, now he was here pacing in his room while he bit his perfectly trimmed nails. Again, an unbelievable thing Ezra would do.

The lights were off as his brother was sleeping and also because Ezra was pretending to be asleep when his mom checked on them. As soon as his mom left, Ezra got up from the bed and stood right next to the window waiting for someone.

Duncan did promise Ezra, that he'll let him meet Arion tonight. But, the beta still couldn't understand, how? Even a deep breath in his mate's presence did wonders to him so letting his wolf out would be out of the question. Arion kept pondering in those thirty seconds about how he would face Ezra.

Ezra was still unaware of Duncan being his mate. Of course, he wouldn't know how the mate bond works when he didn't have a wolf yet. One more day and Ezra would know the truth. Just one more day to decide acceptance or rejection.

Arion stopped in the trees across from the house. He could clearly see Ezra standing at the window, biting his nails. He promised, he would meet him today and he can't go back on that now. He turned back into the human form and still stayed. Arion had to meet the young alpha so Duncan stayed back with Arion in full power.

[a/n: they don't get naked when they change back and forth, so let them be]

Arion's features were more masculine than Duncan's. With a sharper jawline and more muscles, he looked more attractive than the usual. Though both were the same, their features showed the difference. Arion's eyes glowed yellow with black strikes whereas Duncan has the grey ones. Anyone who knew Duncan personally could easily make out the difference.

He fetched out the phone from his pocket and dialed Ezra's number. The phone got answered on the second ring.

"Hello?"

"Hi" was it because of the phone line or something else but Duncan's voice sounded deeper than usual. The line vibrated with the pitch which made goosebumps travel through Ezra's whole body. Ezra almost lost the grip on his phone but then his hold tightened.

"D-duncan?"

"Arion" the man corrected.

[a/n: I literally have goosebumps imagining the name pronounced in that deeper voice. Anyways, continue]

The name made a weird sensation take over Ezra. A feeling that he never felt before. Though he heard the name before, now that the wolf himself spelled it, it hit differently.

Different in a very intimate way.

"H-hi"

"Why are you shivering? Close your window, it's chilled outside" Ezra now looked out of the window for the first time and noticed a shadow walking out of the trees.

"Arion..."

"Yeah, that's me" a small chuckle escapes Ezra's lips as he gets all ready to walk downstairs and meet the guy in the backyard.

"Don't"

"Huh?"

"Don't come here. I'll come up" he gestures and starts walking to the window. "Just keep the window close," he says before hanging up the phone and putting back in his pocket. Arion was already losing it. Now, that he has visibly seen that smile on his mate's lips just because he was meeting him was enough reason to pounce on him.

But, he was controlling himself.

Arion stops before the pipe structure right below the building. He maps the things in between he could use to get to the window. With everything in mind, he puts his foot on the starting end of the pipe and helps himself up easily. He let his legs work on the thin pipe line and its holdings. He then jumps to the balcony railing, he gets to the balcony in one go and maps the distance between the balcony and the small gallery at the window. It would be around three-four feet.

Good enough.

He launches himself from the balcony in a go and lands right at the railing of the gallery. Ezra just blinks blankly staring at the live-action movie.

What did just happen?

[a/n: In my head, the balcony is the kind of patio at the end of the hallway where people have tea and stuff. Whereas, a gallery is the one right outside your bedroom and limited to the window area]

Arion climbs into the gallery and stands against the railing. "Hey," he waves through the glass window. Ezra just blinks and stares at the man realizing how different he is from Duncan. If only he could know Duncan was stupid and innocent only for his mate. If not, how could he be the beta warrior of the most powerful pack?

"Hi" he waves back at Arion and starts adjusting his self to be presentable. Arion let out a chuckle holding on to the railing tight to control himself, his claws scraping against the iron. It was hard when his mate was being cute. The window being soundproof it was hard to talk and also since Arion couldn't move from the edge of the gallery.

Distance, it is.

Arion picks out the phone again and dials the same number. Ezra answers it right away without even looking at the ID.

"What you wanna talk about?"

"I- huh? Nothing? I just wanted to see you" Ezra smiles foolishly.

"Well... Me too" a small smile stays on Arion's lips making him more and more attractive if that was even possible.

Back at the packhouse, everyone was tucked in the bed. The guards were alert on the sides and the gated. No one would even try to mess with them.

The guards stood wide awake at a distance of a door in between. They flexed their build-up muscles before sitting on the wooden chair. Only dark and thick trees were in their vision. Jonathan, one of the guards at the South gate, was also sitting in his place watching for any unusual activity around.

His eyes started scanning the area, that was allotted under him and his partner, Liam. He watched through the trees at every nook. His eyes stopped at a particular tree that had a human shadow fallen across it. "Who is it?" he yelled with no answer in response he takes a step forward and repeats the question. He receive no answers, he blinks to clear his vision and the next second a man in a black coat and red eyes stood before him with an evil grin.

"Hey"

*crack*

Blake was sound asleep on the bed dreaming about having some more strawberry pancakes. Maybe he'll have to seduce Easton into making them again.

And that was a piece of cake.

He wanted to keep dreaming about the food, the booze he had at the last party, Mr. Steven giving away grace points for the chemistry project he missed this semester but no. A stupid, idiot, bloody fool keeps shuffling beside him and kept disturbing his sleep.

"What the hell, Easton?" Blake was all awake now. He sat up and watched Easton all set for his usual run. "Where the fuck are you going?"

"Don't curse first thing in the morning, idiot" Easton shakes his head while Blake rolls his eyes. "And we are going for a morning run"

"Oh? Go on. Good night" Blake ignores the "we" and lay back in the bed.

"I said "we", Blake. Come on get up"

"I'm not going anywhere, Easton. You enjoy your exercise" Blake tucked himself in with the duvet, only his head showing out.

"Your wolf needs the exercise, Blake"

"Kai says he doesn't. All he needs is "sleep" "

He was about to drift away and continue his dream but Easton had other plans.

*splash*

"Ah!!!" the icy cool water drained the whole mattress including the big alpha. Blake tried to breathe after the cool attack and glared at the very cause. "What the hell?"

Easton just shrugs and smirks at the other alpha before running downstairs. "You are so dead, Easton Knight" Blake chases right after, his sleep all gone. He rushed in the corridor screeched when Easton took a turn. Blake was right back and chased the alpha who was now running out of the alpha suite. The pair rushed through the hallways and Easton took the stairs instead of the elevator and Blake blindly followed.

Easton was letting out laughter like a maniac which was very odd for the Knight known. The pack as disciplined was also up for the runs and this took everyone by shock. They had their jaws dropping to the floor or more like walking on the floor.

Both the alphas were dressed in their PJs and hair disheveled by the wind that flowed through the big open windows. "Stop right there, Easton!" Blake yelled but the other alpha was enjoying this a lot. "Easton!!"

Easton ran out of the house after climbing down the four-story building without even a bead of sweat and with a steady breath. On the other hand, Blake was having a hard time breathing but a little sweat.

Easton finally stopped and glanced back to find Blake still on the run towards him. A proud smirk appeared on his face for not only bringing Blake out of the bed but also making him run four floors.

"You are dead. So dead" Blake chanted it until he reached the alpha and stood nose to nose. "You stupid little fucker. You want a fight? Huh?" He glared at the alpha in the eyes. Easton was amused to watch the amount of energy his mate has gathered. The one who wasn't convinced to come out of bed five minutes ago.

The smirk slipped away from Easton's face as he stared into the brown orbs. "I just wanted to run with my mate" he honestly admitted. The thought of Blake joining him for the run never crossed his mind but when Ezra bailed out for a "reason", it all of a sudden sounded very interesting.

But, he was also sure that he couldn't bring out this lazy ass easily. Hence, he prepared a bucket full of chilled water. Though it wouldn't do wonders in California's heat, but it can when the person is peacefully asleep in the duvet and an air conditioner for eight hours straight.

As the sweet words sunk in Blake's numb mind, he felt a daze taking over his brain. "H-huh?" he just kept staring at his partner, the words playing on repeat.

"I just wanted a run with you" Easton took a step closer which made his breath fan over Blake's lips. "But, I guess it's okay if you don't want to, dork" with that he took the step back and waited for the late reaction his mate would give.

"Dork? Me? Oh, you'll see" Blake took a step aside and pulled his wet shirt over his head. Easton's eyes mindlessly roamed all over his mate's body making Aziel growl loudly.

His body was of the athlete type, his skin was pale on the inside without a tan compared to his face, his nips had a very pretty color, and his stomach was flat with right muscles. Easton's eyes kept traveling down and down. "What happened?" Blake smirked and raised his brow. "Not running anymore?" Aziel growled louder.

Bastard.

Easton shook his head to the sides taking his steps towards Blake. Blake smiled innocently turning his back to the alpha. "Here we go" he started running after a steady speed and with Easton following, Kai took over jumping off in the air. It took Easton's breath away with watching the white wolf launching off in the air for a second.

"Wow"

My mate

"Our mate"

*chuckle*

The pair came back from the run with Easton all soaked in water while Blake with a smirk.

"You just watch me next time" Easton growled shrugging off his t-shirt. They were just entering the house which meant the whole pack was witnessing the man all drenched in water as the t-shirt hugged him even tighter.

"Sure" Blake smirked. The stares directed towards his mate were valid 'cause he, himself could barely contain. His eyes kept directing to those lips which were red due to the chillness. But, that doesn't give any other a right to stare. "I hope you guys are very free this morning to watch us like this" Blake politely but loudly said which made everyone disperse to their works. "Hoes"

"Language"

"Shut up"

Blake took off to the elevator with Easton following. They reached the suite and immediately Easton took off his t-shirt. If Blake was looking at his lips first now he was directly watching the body. Without any shame.

He gawked at Easton's tanned body which was covered in tattoos except in the middle. He had two identical tattoos to each side of the chest and then on the arms and lastly on the back. The one which stood out the most was the wolf imprinted on his arm.

Blake unconsciously took his steps forward and touched his arm, fingers caressing the wolf. "Wow". Easton stood still and let his mate admire his body and the art tatted. "This is so beautiful" Blake stroked his fingers across the arm, then the chest and the back. Easton relished his mate's touch and focused him on the most than any other thing right now.

Easton mindlessly stroked Blake's hair bringing back the boy from the trance. Blake looked up to the man and found him smiling at him. A light tint of red covered his cheek as he lowered his head back. Easton wanted to kiss his mate and he wanted it now. Easton grabbed Blake's chin and lifted his head gently.

He had no idea as to why he was so attracted towards Blake. He was clumsy, lazy, untidy, and whatnot. But still, he found those things bearable now. This absolutely wasn't like Easton Knight.

Easton bent his head down as his hand caressed his mate's cheek. Blake, in a daze, closed his eyes welcoming the kiss. The sparks flowed again with the increase of tension.

It was the moment.

*Knock Knock*

"Alpha?" Blake pushed Easton by the chest and rushed upstairs. He heard Easton muttering a "damn" which made him let out a chuckle which accompanied his blush.

"Stupid Easton" Blake took his clothes off in a go and stepped into the shower. He was all muddy and wet with all the playing they did at the lake. The very lake where Blake pushed Easton in. The mud washed away with the warm water spraying down his body.

After cleaning himself thoroughly, he stepped out in a towel. Looking at the clothes, he picked a pair of jeans with a classic white polo t-shirt. He changed into the clothes and walked downstairs to find Duncan leaving the suite.

"Good morning, alpha" Duncan greeted with a bow.

"Morning, Duncan" Blake smiled and waved towards the beta. The smile was replicated and he left. "What was it about?" Blake asked as he walked into the kitchen to find the same half-naked Easton drinking some coffee. Blake put the slices of bread in the toaster while he watched Easton who sat silently with a frown.

"Two of our guards, who were on duty at the South gate yesterday, are missing" Easton finally said staring in space.

"Oh? Any clue you found, like how, who and all?"

"There were blood drops from the gate to a point in the forest but then it disappeared" Easton fed the information.

"Hmm... That means the person or creature should have teleported at that point, 'cause if our pack members were able to access the area, it was still our borders. And as my knowledge goes we don't have any unusual traps in the woods. And the disappearing of the blood explains" Blake pondered as he took out the popped bread from the toaster.

"Point. But, rogues can't teleport. It has to be someone else"

"True. There are only three types of creatures that can teleport: elves, witches, and vampires. Now the question lies who did this" Blake shrugged off taking a seat right next to Easton and biting his peanut butter toast.

"Yeah. Wow," Easton looked at the side with a smirk and raised brows. "I'm impressed. Didn't see that coming" he pushed Blake by the shoulders and kept raising his brows.

"I'm definitely not the dork in this relationship" Blake sighed and got up his seat. "Anyways, I'm going to school. See you in the evening" Blake announce and ran upstairs to grab his bag.

He comes down to find Easton wearing a proper shirt and a pair of blue jeans. "What are you doing, Mr. Knight?" Blake asks with a forced smile. Easton smiles and offers his hand to his mate.

"Taking you to the school, Mrs. Knight"

"Fuck you, Easton" Blake throws his bag at the alpha and walks out of the door, fuming.

"Now I know why you wanted to drop me so desperately" all the eyes in the Wolf High were gawking at the car and men sitting inside. To be honest, it was the car.
