《*DISCONTINUED* Resistance - A Fortnite Story No.6》This Is Now Discontinued
Advertisement
Yep. You're reading that title right. This story is getting discontinued.
I know I promised you all, myself included, that I'd pull through and finish it...but I'm afraid that for the past few weeks (probably a whole month or so now) I just haven't had any motivation to write this anymore.
The reason is mostly because, again, I'm just not as into Fortnite as I once was. I still play the game now and then, and I still love Midas and Jones to pieces (and people are predicting that he may return during this season's live event (if there is one)).
Another reason is that I've been more interested in Eddsworld as of late, and I'm currently working on a story involving the 4 boys and myself as a character that I've had bouncing around my brain for the past couple of weeks. (YES IT'S ANOTHER SHAMELESS SELF INSERT OF MYSELF) But I probably won't publish anything from it until either December or next year.
However since I'm not writing the final battle and ending for this story, I thought I'd summarise it instead. Give you guys something to imagine before I lay this and my Fortnite storyline to rest.
-------
The event would play out just like it did in game, with Midas and Jones occasionally talking to one another to make sure the other is okay. (protective bois :3)
(I also originally had the idea that the Joneses would be involved in the fight too. Being ground team and being lead by Jonesy The First)
The point in the event where Jones and Foundation jumped into the Zero Point and went after Genō is different. Instead the members of the Seven all go after him, leaving Jones behind. But Foundation thanks him, and Midas too, for their help. Jones and Foundation share a fist bump before hopping into the Zero Point.
After the Collider is destroyed Midas requests that Paradigm, who didn't go with the Seven as she was still piloting the Mech, lowers him and Jones near the wreckage of the tank Slone was in as they have 'unfinished business' with her.

They find her surrounded by rubble mixed with bend metal parts and rocks. It's similar to how Ares looked moments before he and Midas were separated ages ago. Her legs seem to be broken though so she can't go anywhere.
As Midas raises a revolver to her head Slone quickly tells him that she can't be killed as people who work for I.O are granted immortality and just regenerate after being badly hurt.
However, she's unaware that Midas knows this already thanks to Jones telling him about it back on their infiltration mission.
So while putting the gun away he says 'yes, you're right. I can't kill you by normal means...but there is one way I can that isn't normal.'
You probably know what that means.
Midas decides to turn Slone into gold and permanently killing her as while he does have the power to reverse the golden touch with Oro's staff, he ain't gonna reverse it for her.
Once that's done with, Midas and Jones take a moment to sit down and relax for a bit. They take in the fact that finally, after so many months, they finally won.
Slone's dead.
I.O's practically nothing at this point.
The Zero Point, when the Seven return, will be safe.
People who were dragged into the Loop by I.O will get a chance to go home through the Zero Point.
But it begs the question.
Now that the war's over, and they won't have to fight anymore, what will Midas, Jones and their family do with themselves now?
Luckily, Midas already had a plan in mind.
Then there was going to be either a few months timeskip or a year's timeskip.
Midas had founded a new Agency and called it 'The Peace Syndicate'. (I have a headcannon that Midas is the boss behind it. Let me dream XD) He's obviously the boss. Jones, Jules and the rest of his family are some of the people who work there, Jones being his assistant...kind of.
(It's basically his way of seeing Jones a lot while he works.)

Midas, Jones, Jules, and Ares also have a house connected to the main building so they have somewhere to live that's close by.
Anyway. After another day's work, and just before Jones and Midas can start flirting with each other, Jules comes into his office and tells them that Orelia wants to speak to Midas.
They find her outside where she offers Midas the chance to take Oro's place up in their palace and become the next god of light and gold. This would mean that he'd have to leave his family behind though so, naturally, he declines the offer. He says that he'd rather stay on the Island with his family and friends.
Orelia understands that. Jones asks why she can't do it as she's a god too.
That's when she tells them that, while she is a god, her magic has been quickly disappearing throughout the story. (I tried hinting at this a couple of times during the earlier chapters.)
She doesn't have much time left so, as a parting gift, she uses up her remaining magic to create illusions of most of the characters that have died throughout this storyline. Giving them one last chance to interact with their dead loved ones before she died.
Astra (who at this point now FINALLY has a glass eye in her eye socket) gets to see her old parents she had when she used to be 'Hope'.
Jones gets to see Janice again. (Before she was killed by Slone and regenerated.)
And Midas and Jules get to see their mum, Agatha.
There's a moment where Midas introduces Jones to his mum as his boyfriend, pretty much coming out to her as gay. And Jones feels very awkward about it as he still worked for I.O at the time they killed her.
Ares also joins Midas and the others. (He's still mute unfortunately and probably always will be). While he doesn't remember Agatha all that well, he feels somewhat relieved to see her and allows her to give him a kiss on the cheek.
As Orelia's powers fades, the illusions wave goodbye before disappearing. Midas requests one last thing from her and it's that he wants to know the whereabouts of Sophie (the character me).
Orelia passes him a letter before saying goodbye and crumbling to dust, her crown being the only thing that remains.
The letter is one from Sophie pretty much apologizing to Midas for not writing or calling. But she reassures him that she's fine and hasn't forgotten about him and the others.
She tells him that she made some new friends (aka hint towards my next story) and that she's always thinking of them. She says she'll write again soon.
Midas smiles to himself, glad to know his old friend is safe.
Just like he and his family are.
Safe. At long last...
-----------
And that's pretty much it.
Again I'm really sorry this story ended like this, especially since the last chapter ended with me hyping up the live event section of the story.
I'm thrilled that people enjoyed my Fortnite storyline as much as I enjoyed writing it. It started off as me obsessing over Midas and wanting the Ghost v Shadow storyline to get a proper ending and turned into this big AU full of action, drama and...
🏳️🌈 GAY ROMANCE 🏳️🌈 (I loved fleshing out Midas and Jones' romance. ^-^)
I'm boggled that the first (and second) story has the amount of votes and reads it has as it's child's play compared to the other 4.
So, to all of you lovely people, thank you for reading my Fortnite AU/Storyline thingie. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I may still do that Mijones oneshot for Christmas but we'll see what happens.
But for now, I hope you'll enjoy my future Eddsworld story that will start either in December or next year.
💛💙 - Sophie395, your local Mijones nerd :P
(Here's a dumb lil comic I drew probably over a year ago now.)
