I wake up by a knock on the door. Oh shit, are they already here? I run over to the window and there is a car on the street with two people in it. Travis and Kevin. Billie must be the one who's knocking. I'm such a genius for figuring that out. I run to my closet to find something to wear on our little meet up but the problem is that I don't know what the fuck we are going to do. After putting on a white long-sleeved shirt and a pair of black cargo pants I run down the stairs to put my shoes on. I open up the door, and there stands Billie, looking right at me.

"Yo, you're finally awake!" She laughs before pulling me into a hug. She smells like vanilla and I usually HATE vanilla perfume, but I love it on her for some weird reason.

"I'm so sorry, for how long have y'all been here?" I ask, ashamed.

"It's fine, we have only been here for ten minutes or something. Now, come on!" She says, grabbing my hand and pulling me to the car. As soon as I sit down in the backseat Kevin turns the radio on.

"Hey, Ember! We fucking missed you!" He outbursts before putting his hands on the steering wheel, driving away from the small street.

"Missed you too, dude", I say, looking over at Travis who turns around as well. He looks really good with his black short dreads that are right now in a bun on the top of his head. He's wearing a yellow hoodie that fits him perfectly.

"Sup, Ems" He smiles before turning around again. I can see how he's looking at me in the rear-view mirror.

"Yo, stop eye fucking each other, man", Kevin chuckles, making me blush and look away immediately. I look at Billie, expecting her to laugh, but she just rolls her eyes and looks out through the window, leaving me confused.

After a while, Kevin stops the car outside Julia's house. She's already waiting on the steps so I just open up the car window and scream:

"Hey, Julia! Come on!"

She immediately runs towards us and opens the door. I now realise that we have to be three people in the backseat, which means that I have to sit in the middle, closer to Billie. I awkwardly shuffle closer to her so Julia can sit by my right side. I rest my head on Billie's shoulder, making her rest my head on mine. Wasn't she mad? This is confusing as fuck. While looking through my phone, I hear a noise. Looking up at Billie, I can see that she took a picture of me and her.

"Hey, I wasn't ready!" I exclaim.

"Doesn't matter, you still look cute", she grins, uploading the picture to her story, making me sigh.

After half an hour, Kevin stops the car in the middle of nowhere. Confused, I look out through the window. It's basically a small lake, surrounded by cliffs and a small beach. The whole place is surrounded by a big forest and it actaully looks beautiful.

"Really? A lake? That's it?" Travis complains in disbelief.

"That's it", Kevin confirms before getting out of the car.

"I brought some shit to eat, though", he says, holding up his backpack and we all get out from the car to get the food. Billie grins while opening up the black backpack before turning it upside down. Five soda cans, three small bags of candy and some chips.

''People only like me because I give them food'', Kevin says sadly, making me laugh.

"Yo! I'ma eat it all!" I scream, trying to grab all the snacks and run away but Billie grabs my waist, pulling me back to them.

"No, you asshole!" She laughs, releasing her grip on me. I pout before grabbing a soda can and opening it, taking a sip.

"Okay, let's play truth or dare!" Travis says, making Kevin sigh.

"I'm down!" Julia says and we all sit down in a circle. Julia sits next to me on my left side and Billie sits on the right. Travis sits next to Julia and Kevin sits between Billie and him.

"Okay, Julia! Truth or dare?" I ask.

"Truth", she says after thinking for a while.

"Who looks better, Kev or Trav?" Billie asks, smirking as if she had just asked the hardest question ever. I look at Julia excited because I really think that she and Kevin look cute together. Julia puts her hand against her forehead, blushing before answering the hard question.

"Kevin."

We all cheer while Kevin looks more red than a fucking tomato. Travis sits next to Julia so we all look at him, waiting for him to choose truth or dare.

"I want you to kiss the most attractive person in this circle, bro!" Kevin says, clapping his hands. Travis thinks for a while before standing up, walking over to me and Billie. He then crouches down in front of me and leans in, placing his lips against mine. It feels pretty weird, not bad but just weird. He kisses me one more time from another angle, his hands placed on my cheeks before pulling away, smiling. He sits down again and I wipe my mouth uncomfortably before looking at Billie. She doesn't look happy at all. She's glaring at Travis, as if she wants to kill him. Literally. If looks could kill, Travis would have been a skeleton by now.

''Billie, your turn!'' Julia says. No one except me saw how pissed Billie was, and that's good. The others would make a big thing and it would ruin the vibe.

''Truth'', she says, taking a sip from the soda can.

''Okay, Billie. Are you interested in anyone here?'' Julia asks, making Billie smirk. After asking the question, Julia looks at me, as if she just did me a favour.

''Yeah'', she simply says, making everyone raise their eyebrows. Her confidence surprised us all.

''Wha-'' I start.

''Who?'' Kevin interrupts.

''That wasn't the question'', she smirks with a satisfied look on her face. This fucking girl. She doesn't mean me, does she?

I turn around to face Julia and she's looking at me with the biggest grin ever on her face. I give her a deathglare before returning to the game.

''Okay, so one of us is lucky enough to be Billie's crush.'' Kevin starts. ''I don't know about you but I'm tired of this game and it's getting late. I'm going to the car to get some blankets, I'll be right back.''

Billie and Travis follows Kevin, leaving me and Julia alone. Julia immediately grabs my shoulder, looking like a child on christmas.

''Oh my god, she is so fucking into you!'' she grins, clapping her hands.

''Shut the fuck up! Kevin's more into you!'' I say, laughing.

''Ember, I fucking like him!'' She says excitedly, 'her hands bouncing up and down on her knees.

''Aww, that's so cute. I promise that I will do everything to make you guys a couple, deadass.'' I grin, giving her a side hug. I turn around to see how everyone gets back form the car.

''Come on, Julia! Go and talk to him! Y'all can sit alone on a rock and talk about life or something.'' I say with a chuckle, forcing her to stand up before pushing her in his direction. She walks to him nervously and they go away together, making me cheer quietly. Julia really deserves a good guy like Kevin. I can see how Travis and Billie are having an awkward conversation by the car while I walk to the water. It's like 200 feet from the car so the others can't see me. I sit down with my hands on my knees, breathing in the natural scent from the nature.

This is actually the first time I feel appreciated for real by my friends. I don't usually enjoy being around people, but right now I feel fine and it means a lot. I've been missing the feeling of having someone to fight for since the accident. Evan was the reason to why I was alive a big part of my life. I couldn't stand seeing him in pain, so I did everything I could to make him happy. I don't feel like my friends means as much as Evan did to be honest, but they still are a big part of my life right now, and they do help me, more than they realise. It surprises me that I am myself around these people. I feel confident for real and it's not an act anymore when I'm around them.

''Hey'', a voice says. I turn around and see Billie standing behind me. ''Can I join?''

''Sure'' I say softly and she sits down by my side.

''What's up?'' She asks, looking at me.

''Just looking at the water, it's beautiful.'' I answer, not moving my gaze away from the lake.

''It is'', she says. We just sit there, enjoying each others company when a strong wind blows over us. I suddenly feel really cold and start to shake a bit. Why didn't I put a jacket or at least a hoodie on before I left?

''Are you cold?'' Billie asks, concerned.

''It's okay.''

''Come on, you're not even wearing a jacket. You must be freezing to death, hold on.'' She says with a pout before getting up on her feet, running away to the car. After a while, she comes back with a red blanket folded in her hand. She unfolds it and takes one corner in each hand before wrapping it around my freezing, shaking body.

''Better?'' she asks.

''A little'', I answer with a weak smile. She sits down by my side again and wraps her arms around me, rubbing my back with her hand to warm me up more. I show her that I appreciate it by leaning my head on her shoulder.

''So, that kiss with Travis. Are you guys like... a thing?'' She suddenly asks, sounding a bit hurt but trying her best to hide it. I sigh before answering.

''To be honest, I do like him, but... just not in that way. He does look good but I would rather only be his friend. I realised it after that kiss, it just felt wrong, you know?'' I answer, truthfully. I can see how she smirks a bit before answering.

''Really? I actually thought that you two were going to fuck under a tree around here or something'' she says with a laugh, recieving a slap on the arm from me.

''Can I ask you something?'' I ask, after a while of silence.

''Sure.''

''Why were you so upset when you saw me with Trav?'' I finally ask. The question makes her tense and shuffle a bit. I have never seen Billie beeing uncomfortable, so it's pretty new.

''What do you mean?'' She asks back, pretending not to know what I'm talking about.

''Billie, I saw the way you looked at us. Why would it upset you?''

It looks like she doesn't know what to say, or as if she has to choose between two answers. One answer that's made up and one that's the truth. Pick the truth, please.

''I like you, okay?'' She finally says, throwing her arms out in front of her. ''You can run away and never talk to me again, but that's the answer. You asked for it!''

Billie? Likes me? No fucking way. This is not real, she must be kidding.

''Billie, calm the fuck down! Why would I run away?'' I ask her, stumbling on my words while trying to sound confident. She stays silent for a while, trying to find the right words.

''Because you don't like me back'', she says quietly. The sadness in her voice breaks my heart. I want to tell her that I in fact do like her back, but my mouth is paralyzed. I try to speak but I can't form a single word. I just keep loking at her.

Without another word being shared between us, she leans in closer to my face. Her blue diamond eyes meets mine and she looks even more beautiful than usual. Her eyes are flickering between my lips and my eyes, making me understand what she wants to do.

''Can I kiss you?''
