Prompt: Protective/Secret Relationship
Synopsis: Jonathan Samuel Kent is going to space with his grandfather, but before he goes he has to make one final stop at Wayne Manor.
"You're WHAT?!" Damian growled, still dressed in his pajamas. Jon had barged in through his window uninvited like many times before, at first he was vexed.. but after hearing what Jon had to say? Damian was Furious.
"It'll only be for a few weeks.." Jon said, trying to sound convincing, but honestly? This was every bit as difficult for him as it was for Damian. He stood there, the proud symbol of house El displayed on his chest, his cape fluttering in the wind.
"THE HELL YOU ARE." Damian said, angrily pushing Jon aside, and stomping his way to the window, slamming his shutters closed in an (useless) attempt to bar Jon from leaving.
"But Dami!" Jon complained "this might be my only chance to learn more about my kryptonian heritage!" Jon tried to reason out.
"I said NO, Kent. And that's FUCKING final." Damian said, crossing his arms over his chest. A scowl on his face, his hair a mess.
"But-" Jon was cut off, Damian talking over him
"No, Kent. No amount of your incessant blabbering and nagging will sway me to even BEGIN to consider that terrible idea." Damian snapped, his voice bitter. Until his lips trembled and his voice faltered. A single tear streaming down his face, his eyes betraying him.
"Damian, are you-"
"No Jon! I'm not okay." Damian said, as more tears broke from his eyes. "I- I can't lose you... not yet.. not a few months after I finally became your's.. not now.." Damian paused, steadying his breath "not ever.." Damian breathed out, trying to calm himself when he felt his boyfriends arms wrap around him in a warm embrace, only making him whimper, tears began to stream down his face.
"Its ok Dami.. I'm here.. I'll always be here..." Jon cooed, kissing Damian's cheek, his boyfriend dampening his shoulder with tears.

"You can't go Jon.. please.. don't- don't.. leave me..." Damian pleaded, tightening his grip, not ever wanting to let go.
Everyone thinks Jon's the soft one in their friendship, but they couldn't be more wrong. Damian talks all big and brooding but deep down.. he's all soft- at least for Jon. Jon was his kryptonite, the prospect of him leaving, turning one of the world's deadliest assassins into a crying little mess.
"Shh.. shh..." Jon hushed, floating over to Damian's bed, sitting down. Damian burying his face in his boyfriend's chest.
"I'm not leaving you Dami.. I'd never.. ever leave you" Jon said, lifting his boyfriend's chin so their eyes could meet. Sapphires meeting emeralds. The boys blushed.
"I'm not leaving you Dami.. I'd never.. ever leave you" Jon said, lifting his boyfriend's chin so their eyes could meet. Sapphires meeting emeralds. The boys blushed.
"You don't know that, Kent.." Damian managed to say. "You can never know that.." Damian spat "Every night we go out there.. the super sons. we fight crime.. every night we save lives... every night we risk our lives.. risk losing the other in this... cruel hateful world." Damian said bitterly.
"But you won't lose me-"
Jon sighed, closing his eyes. "Every night we go out there.. but we always end up together.. right?" Jon asked, Damian. Damian nodded slowly in response.
"Then why is me going away for a few weeks any different?" Jon asked
"Because, beloved..." Damian's voice was still shakey "I'm not there, not there to protect you.." he answered, his voice trailing off, tightening his hug.
"Oh Dami.." Jon said sweetly, lifting Damian up and plopping him down on his bed so they're both facing each other, lying down.
"You know I can take care of myself.. right?" Jon asked, cupping Damian's cheek. "I mean.. I can like punch hard.. like, really hard." Jon said confidently, eliciting the smallest of laughs from Damian.

"I know, beloved but.." Damian said, kissing Jon's hand "its.. different." Damian comtinued.
"Besides, my grandpa will be with me!" Jon smiled, beeming.
Damian sighed, his gaze drifting away from his boyfriend to the blade of his grandfather that he kept on a plaque on the wall.
"That's just it, Kent." Damian began "I don't.. trust him." Damian said bitterly.
"What? Why? You haven't even met the guy." Jon asked, raising a brow
"Its just.. a gut feeling, he doesn't sit right with me." Damian said, narrowing his eyes at the sword. "He's bad news." Damian spat like venom.
"I mean.." jon began "right now, the only bad thing I see in him is his haircut" the boys shared a laugh, enjoying a comfortable silence until Damian broke it.
"What about... prom?" Damian asked
"You mean the one we'll have with the rest of the league?" Jon asked
"Yes, that.. we were supposed to.." Damian paused "Come out then, Jon.. remember? It's in 3 weeks." Damian continued.
"Oh yeah.. uhm- don't worry, I'll be back before then" jon said
"What if you miss it..?" Damian asked, worry in his voice.
Jon seemed to think it over, scrunching his brows together before answering "I- I won't Damian.." Jon said.
"You promise..?" Damian asked.
"You promise..?" Damian asked.
"I promise" Jon answered, promising not only Damian but also himself.
Damian still seemed upset, letting out a shakey sigh. He could tell there was no way to shake Jon of his decision.. he just prayed to whatever power there was that they wouldn't regret it.
"Hey Dami?" Jon asked, breaking Damian from his thoughts.
"About prom.." Jon began.
"Uhm- could we practice again?" Jon paused "just one more time before I go?" Jon asked, a sweet smile on his face.
Damian sighed, a smile finding its place on his lips. "Alright, but only because I love you." Damian said, causing Jon to blush. Damian got out of bed, turning on his phone.
"What song?" Damian asked, looking over at Jon who was already waiting for Damian to join him, standing in position.
"You decide" Jon smiled sweetly
Damian blushed and sighed, thankful after so long, struggling with his feelings he could finally call Jon his. He chose the song 'Stay with me' by Sam Smith.
The song started to play, Damian walking over to his boyfriend.
"Ready?" Damian asked, their fingers intertwined, Damian had his other hand on Jon's shoulder, Jon has his other hand on Damian's waist.
"Ready as I'll ever be!" Jon said, a nervous giggle escaping his lips.
The pair began to dance, moving gracefully. Damian, despite being shorter, due to being more experienced, took the lead.
The light of the moon light shined through the windows of Damian's room, bathing the boys in a tinge of bluish-white.
Their eyes locked, their bodies drawn so close they could feel the other's body heat. This is what they wanted, this is what they've wanted ever since they met. And now, they finally had it. The moment was perfect, that is until.
"Ouch!" Damian yelped, Jon stepping on his feet.
"Haha.. sorry" Jon giggled, embarrased a tinge of pink on his cheeks.
"That's alright." Damian said
"You sure..?" Jon asked, skeptical. Raising a brow.
"Of course, beloved. We've got.. plenty of time to practice once you get back." Damian began.
"For now.. let's just practice this." Damian said, leaning forward. His lips meeting Jon's in a loving kiss, Jon was at first taken aback, but after a few seconds he felt his body turn to jelly at Damian's touch, melting into his kiss.
Both boys felt the heat rush to their cheeks, enjoying this picture perfect moment.. both blissfully unaware of the heart ache to come.

Tales of Ordinary, Completely Unremarkable Contractors
"Where life had no value, death, sometimes, had its price. That is why the mercenaries appeared." - Artur Xerxes, in A Century of Disappointment: Memoirs of a Travelling Dwarf It's never too difficult to land contracts for a set very specialised skills in a continent teeming with werewolves, vampires, giant leopards, undead and, god forbid, elves. The difficulty comes when these contractors find themselves suffocated in the dense atmosphere of this world's rigid - and mostly unfair - rules; death, suffering and misfortune await those unwilling to sacrifice to bend these in their favour. In this non-linear plot, you will observe a scarred and deformed farm girl cashing her first bounty posters, a seemingly ordinary barmaid at a tavern in the bustling centre of a sprawling, corrupt city and an enigmatic leader of a firm specialising in dealings any other would consider suicidal. Watch them all take everything to the next level at every available opportunity, and then feel dread at the thought that this still might not be enough to halt the physical embodiment of doom about to do what it does best Please, feel free to review and comment! Any sort of feedback can help me become a better writer and write more engaging stories for you. I used to update once every 3-5 days, but this rewrite is taking much too long...I do hope it will be worth it.
