Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Surprisingly, I don't have much to say. I did start another CM story though, lol. Another one. I'm super excited for this one, I'm in love with it already. Got about five chapters or so.

Anyway, enjoy this chapter!

"I want you to rest. Stay off your feet for at least two weeks," Ryder nods along to her doctor's words but otherwise makes no sign that she's really listening to the woman. "Make sure rests." The doctor turns to Spencer now and he nods as well, looking more present than his fiancée.

"Thanks," He says to her and she gives a tight smile before leaving the room. "Hey," Spencer mumbles to Ryder, gently resting his hand on her arm. "You ready?"

"Yeah," She whispers back. "Sorry."

"It's okay," The circles under Ryder's eyes are very prominent. She didn't sleep last night, neither of them did. But she hasn't talked to him about what happened either. He knows she needs to or she won't move on. He hopes going home will help.

The ride back is silent. Spener drives while Ryder stares out the window. After Steve and Nat left the night before, she told him she didn't want to see anyone else for the rest of the night or today. Of course, the others want to see her, but they understand.

When Spencer steps out of the car, he rushes around quickly to help Ryder out. Other than the bruises on her face, there are cuts lining her legs and a few on her back from the broken glass. All in all, it could've been much worse, Spencer knows that but seeing the love of his life hurt is more painful than anything he's ever felt. Physical or otherwise.

"You need to eat," He says as he closes and locks the door behind him.

"Not really hungry," Ryder mumbles while running her hand over Willow's head when the dog greets her. After leaving the hospital the night before, Tommy had come to check on her.

"You need to eat," Spencer repeats. He hates making her do something she doesn't want, but she hadn't eaten at the hospital and on top of everything that happened, she's pregnant.

"I know," Ryder nods and sits herself down on one of the barstools. "Whatever you want is fine." Spencer sighs and turns to her, staring into her eyes from across the counter. "I don't know what you want me to say, Spence."

"Whatever you need to." Ryder's eyes burn and she looks away from Spencer and off to the side, her lips pursed.

"I knew-" She starts only to cut herself off. "The moment I saw him, I knew." Spencer walks around the counter and sits next to Ryder, placing a hand on her back. "I reached for my gun but of course I left the damn thing in the car." She scoffs at herself and shakes her head. "I-I tried to talk to him but he wouldn't listen." Ryder pauses and swallows, ducking her head and leaning closer towards Spencer. "When he pulled me through the window, I just knew he was going to kill our baby and I-"

"It's okay," Spencer wraps his arms around Ryder when a sob breaks free from her throat. "She's fine, okay? I promise she's okay."

Nodding, Ryder pulls back and gently wipes the tears off her face before places her hands over her baby bump. "She hasn't kicked yet."

"Well, she still has time," Spencer assures her. "We've just entered that window. Could be another day or a few more weeks. Every baby is different."

Ryder nods and grabs Spencer's hands in her own. "I'm tired." She mumbles quietly.

"We'll eat then lie down for a while, yeah?"

"Yeah."

"Okay," Spencer places a kiss to Ryder's forehead before standing.

"You know I can take another day off."

"No, Spence," Ryder shakes her head with a soft chuckle. "Tommy will be here soon. We're just gonna have a sibling day."

"You still have to rest, you know? Doctor's orders." Spencer tells her while tying his tie.

"Who? My doctor or you, Dr. Reid?"

"Both," Spencer says and spins around to place a kiss to her lips. "Tom knows this, he'll tell me if you do more than walk from point A to point B."

"Yes, sir," Ryder mumbles with a mock salute. "I'm okay, Spence. I'll text you and if something happens, which it won't, I will call you."

"I love you."

"Love you more," Ryder says before leaning forward to kiss him once more.

"Hmm," Spencer hums when he pulls away, his eyes still closed. "Not possible."

"Oh, no, it is," Ryder nods.

"Prove it,"

Gasping, Ryder places her hand over her heart. "Spencer Reid, I never." She chuckles and Spencer does the same. "I'm carrying and creating a human being inside of me. That human is half yours. It's not as glamorous as it sounds. You know the gory details. That's how much I love you."

"Touché. As much as I hate it, I do have to go."

"Yes, love you lots. See you when you get home."

"I will see you tonight, love." With one last parting kiss, Spencer leaves his fiancé and heads off to work.

"Hey," Emily is the first to greet him when he enters the bullpen. "How's Ryder?"

"Uh, she's okay," He nods while removing his messenger bag from his shoulder. "Better. The baby's good. Though she hasn't kicked and Ryder's worried despite me and her doctor telling her it's normal."

Emily smiles and nods. "Oh, man, Spencer Reid is gonna be a dad."

"Don't remind me, I'm nervous enough."

"I'd be worried if you weren't. You'll be great."

Spencer gives his friend an appreciative nod before looking towards his boss's office. "Hotch in?"

"I think so," Emily nods and glances up at the room as well, eyebrows furrowing. "Why?"

"Uh, no reason," Spencer shakes his head and though she doesn't believe him, Emily drops it. Sitting down at his desk, Spencer tries to focus on work but can't help glancing towards Hotch's office every few seconds.

Grumbling to himself, the young man stands as calmly as he can and starts towards the smaller room.

"What do you think?" After the question leaves his mouth, Spencer fidgets in his seat. His hands wring together, eyes boring into Hotch's forehead.

"I think..." The man trails off and Spencer feels his skin crawling. Is the pause really necessary? "It's a plan." Spencer releases the breath he'd been holding and nods, sitting straighter in his seat. "You've put a lot of thought into this."

"Yes," Spencer nods, pursing his lips. "Um, I just...with things the way they are. What's happened, what's going to happen."

"I understand," Hotch nods and sets the papers in front of him to the side. "You're getting married, having a kid. Teaching part-time will allow you to be there more." Be there like he couldn't in his own marriage. Hotch loves his team, they're apart of his family. Despite knowing he'll miss Spencer not being here for every case, he wants this for him. He's happy for the young man. "Have you spoken to Ryder about this?"

"No," Spencer admits sheepishly. "She'd just try to talk me out of it. She'll think I'm only doing this for her. And I am, but I'm also doing it for my daughter. And I'm doing it for me."

Hotch folds his hands under his chin and looks across his desk to Reid. He studies him for a moment before letting a rare smile pull his lips up. "It'll take a little time, but we can get it done." Sighing, Hotch leans forward. "Congratulation, Reid."

"Thanks, Hotch."

Well look at that, Spencer has come up with a plan to be there more for his family. I think it's a good decision, especially with recent events. (And possible future ones) What? I didn't say anything.

Anyway! Love you guys, love your comments! Keep 'em coming lol.

Until next time, friends!
