It was hot.
Oh god, was it hot. Jungkook focused on keeping his breathing regulated, squeezing his eyes shut still. He knew that Hoseok told him that he could open his eyes as soon as it got hotter, but he was a bit scared to.
He was in hell; as soon as he opened his eyes he would have to accept that, and he wasn't quite sure if he wanted to. But then, as he came to realize that he was still holding Jimin's hand, he remembered what he was really there for.
He gulped before opening his eyes, trembling once he took in his surroundings. The walls looked like they were the side of a jagged cliff, an ominous red lighting causing them to seem to just glow. The tile that he sat on was made of black marble tile, a near searing heat coming up from below and heating the ground.
He let go of Jimin's hand, taking a shaking breath before he took the demon into his arms, standing up and carrying him bridal style. His head fell against Jungkook's shoulder, making the younger have to look away as he felt tears well up in his eyes once more.
Jungkook took a deep breath before starting to walk forwards, his sneakers insulating the heat that came up from the ground. He was already starting to sweat, but it was all for Jimin. He was okay with it as long as it was for Jimin.
The further he walked, the more that the path he walked down began to narrow, and he became suddenly aware of the two rivers that rushed beside him on either side. They looked innocent enough, but they were in hell, so he knew that nothing could be exactly as what it seemed to be.
"If only my mom knew where I was right now." He sighed, adjusting his hold on Jimin's limp body. "She'd have a stroke."
In all honesty, Jungkook should have been more panicked than he currently was as he walked down the pathway to the devil's throne; but he couldn't find himself to be, because he knew that it was for Jimin's sake. That was the only thing that was still keeping him somewhat sane at this point.
He needed Jimin back. He would do absolutely anything that it took.
However, when the devil finally began to come into view, there were no words to even describe to fear that struck through his entire body. All of the other fear that he had ever experienced in his life was irrelevant, because nothing compared to this level of terror.

She didn't look scary, Jungkook noticed as he walked even closer, but it was the knowledge of who she was and what power she held, that had panic rushing through Jungkook's veins.
"So you're the one that killed my demon, huh?" She spoke up, legs crossed as she leaned back in her throne. She brushed a few pieces of hair out of her eyes, raising an eyebrow at the human in front of her. "You're so brave to come down here, considering that it's my domain, and I can just do with you what I please."
Jungkook gulped, looking down at Jimin's peaceful expression.
"I'm here to ask you to bring Jimin back." He spoke, proud of himself when his voice didn't tremble at all. "Please, I need him back."
The devil laughed, the sound causing a shiver to go down Jungkook's spine.
"What makes you think that you're in a position to be asking me for favours?" She sneered. "You don't have a right to even be here, so you certainly don't have a right to ask me to do anything for you."
"I think I have at least a bit of a right to be here." Jungkook spoke, gaining the confidence to look her in the eye. "I'm coming down here when I die anyway, so what's the difference?"
The devil narrowed her eyes, leaning forwards in her seat.
"It's funny how you talk to me like you're at the same level as me." She spoke calmly. "I could kill you with the snap of my fingers, and yet you're still speaking to me like I'm not a threat." She stepped down from her seat, taking a few long strides towards Jungkook and her late creation.
She sighed softly, tracing Jimin's jawline with one of her fingers. "You're doing so much for him." She breathed. "Why? Why are you really here Jungkook?
Jungkook frowned and looked down at Jimin once more. He still looked beautiful, as if he was just in a deep slumber. Jungkook would believe that, if he didn't know better.
"Because I love him." He whispered. "I need him."
The devil rolled her eyes.
"You don't need him." She huffed. "Nobody needs a demon in their life. That's the point. They're not needed, they cause problems."
Jungkook's eyes wandered to the blood that still stained Jimin's lips, and he used one of his fingers to wipe it away gently.
"Please." He pleaded. "I know I'm just some human that probably looks pathetic at this point but please." Jungkook was starting to lose his confidence. "I can't have him die because of me. I know that my love for him is the reason that he died in the first place but I need him."
"It wasn't your love for him that killed him." The devil shrugged, crossing her arms. "It was his love for you." She was beginning to get irritated at this point, but wanted to see just what she could get out of the human. "Demons can't love, Jungkook. Shouldn't be able to; especially not one like Jimin. He was supposed to make people stray away from love. The fact that he even fell for you is ridiculous!"

Jungkook chose not to speak, gaze still focused on Jimin. He couldn't be gone forever. He just couldn't.
"It killed him but completely tearing him apart from the inside out." The devil explained, not sugar coating anything. "That's why demons can't love. Their bodies aren't made to withstand it." She exhaled. "His death was inevitable."
There was something about the last four words that the devil spoke that caused something to crack within Jungkook, a tear slipping down his face as he stared at Jimin. His legs felt weak at the thought that he may never hear his laugh again, or see him smile, and he sunk to his knees in front of the devil; still holding Jimin snug against his chest.
"Just bring him back!" He cried. "You created him, why can't you bring him back?"
"It's not a matter of if I can or not, it's a matter of if I want to or not." She looked down at the scene in front of her, merely raising an eyebrow. "And I'm not sure if I really do want to."
She walked closer, reaching down and petting Jungkook's hair. "I want to bring back Lust, but not necessarily Jimin per say. His personality and actions cause me way too much stress." She sighed. "I just need an entirely new demon."
"What do I have to do?" Jungkook asked, voice trembling. The devil's eyebrows shot up at that, using her pointer finger to tilt Jungkook's chin up so that they could make eye contact.
"What are you offering?" She asked slowly, voice low and eyes glinting.
Jungkook thought for a moment. This was the devil he was speaking to. He was already in dangerous territory, but he needed Jimin back, no matter what it took.
"Anything." He whispered, and would be lying if he said that he didn't regret it just a little bit.
The devil's smirk curled up into a full blown smile, excitement coursing through her veins at the human's words. She couldn't believe just how lucky she was.
"You're being generous." She grinned, caressing Jungkook's face with her thumb.
His expression stayed the same; oddly calm.
"Anything to have Jimin back." He spoke, the devil loving the way that things had played out.
"You're being stupid too." She laughed. "But sure, I'll bring Jimin back, but only if you give me the one thing that makes you human."
Jungkook gulped, eyes widening.
"I want your soul, Jungkook." The devil smiled coyly. "Your precious, unique, human soul. Give me that, and I'll give this nuisance some life again." She prodded Jimin with the toe of her high heel.
"Why do you want my soul?" Jungkook asked, the devil's expression scaring him.
"Nothing satisfies me more than knowing that I stole the life out of an innocent human being." She smiled. "So, what do you say? Fair exchange I think, a soul for a life?"
Jungkook knew that he shouldn't agree. He didn't know what giving your soul away entailed, he should've asked, but he didn't think to right then. Was he going to die? He wasn't sure. He couldn't find it in him to care.
"Deal." He spoke, watching as the devil's eyes flickered in colour like flames of a fire. It was terrifying.
"Stupid, stupid boy." She laughed, leaning down and taking Jimin out of his arms. Jungkook put up a bit of a fight, but he knew better than to battle with the devil.
The devil lay Jimin down on the tile floor, brushing a few pieces of hair out of his eyes and sighing. "I thought you had so much potential too." She placed her hand over his heart, applying pressure to the point that Jungkook knew it would hurt if he was alive.
She then lifted her hand up, mumbling something under her breath that Jungkook couldn't understand, before bringing the heel of her palm down hard against Jimin's chest.
Jungkook sat in shock as he watched Jimin take a gasping breath due to the action, his fingers twitching.
The one thing that had him confused though, was when he watched Jimin's hair turn from a jet black to a chestnut brown, a warm pink glow being brought to his cheeks. He hadn't looked like that before, why was she changing his appearance?
"Why does he look different?" He asked aloud, the devil turning to him and raising an eyebrow.
"You didn't honestly think I'd bring him back as a demon, did you?" She asked. "He definitely doesn't deserve that. If he wanted to experience human emotions, why not make him human, you know?"
She stood up, now walking towards Jungkook.
Jimin was still unconscious, but his chest now rose and fell with each breath, and that alone calmed Jungkook.
"Alright Jungkook." The devil smirked, kneeling beside him and running her fingers through his hair. "It's time for your end of the deal."
Jungkook merely nodded and bowed his head.
He couldn't back out now.
He felt the devil's fingernails against his arm, then dragging across his collarbone, before her hand rested over his heart.
And the pain as she sunk her nails into his skin; the pain was the last memory he had.

No More Respawns
Synopsis: The first time Allen died, he was forced back into a living hell where death is temporary, and power is all that matters. With evil and depravity as the rule, tragedy becomes comedy and life becomes an act. Only a deal with a shady god can get him back to his old life, but what happens if there’s nothing left to save? Maybe hell isn’t so bad if you have infinite lives… until you don’t. Needless to say, it’s all fun and games until there’s no more respawns. Foreword: This story is meant primarily as an action adventure and secondarily as a dark and nihilistic comedy. It may not be readily apparent in the beginning, but that's what I have planned (I feel the need to emphasize the dark; don’t rage at me if it gets too ‘traumatizing’ or something). I’m going to take my time with this, so it won’t immediately inundate you with doom and gloom. This is also a comedy, remember? On that note, if for some cursed reason you just can't handle either the references or the jokes, I am willing to battle in the comments. Anyway, I still put a significant amount of effort into the system, so I hope you enjoy that part. It is a little bulky, I'll admit to that, but I wanted to try something new and its more fun when there's more depth to it. Regardless, I still have a lot of fun doing math in the middle of writing a fictional story (/s). I also want to see if I can keep from messing up the pacing. Many times, I end up going too fast because I'm afraid of the story getting boring, which tends to ironically have the opposite effect. I'm still learning I suppose; we'll see how things go. Lastly, please leave reviews and comments, they really mean a lot to me and (usually) help me improve considerably. I'll be asking for feedback in the polls and I do still check the old ones from time to time. Notes: The story takes a bit of time to develop; give it time if you're here for drama, grimdark, or antihero. The system is all blue boxes and I'm not half-assing the numbers. Chapters will be between 1k and 2k words usually. I always use the oxford coma, fight me. Might drop if rating falls below 4 stars, idk. It depends on how my life is going. Cover drawn by yours truly in MS paint. (I have skill, I know)
