《Ice Queen》Dawson and Rylee

"Yes!!! I love your dramatic moves and expressions! You're really killing it Ice Queen!" My choreographer, John, compliments me. I shake my head with a smile as I skate around. He's the one who's being dramatic. "Arms up, arms up, Ice Queen. Flutter those arms like you're going to fly in any moment," I ignore him and go to the center of the rink before halting myself.

"Just give me a song to dance to," I yell at him.

"Warm up first," he reminds me.

"I did," I pout.

"Show me some jumps," I roll my eyes and skate again.

I make a backward approach, this is when I'm skating backward, I also have to look at where I'm going. When I feel confident in doing the jump, I shift my weight to the outside edge of my right foot then use the toe pick of the other foot to launch myself into the air. As I start to launch, I rotate my body so I do the spin, three spins counted. I landed on the same foot, same outside edge, and swing my leg foot out to balance my landing. There, I just did a loop jump.

John claps. "Beautiful, beautiful!" He compliments me. Of course, I never fail to do a jump. I've already mastered all when I was nine years old. "Now your reward," John plays a slow gentle smooth song. "Dance your heart out, Ice Queen."

I got that title by winning the National Women's Professional Ice Skating (NWPIS) back to back. And here's a little history, my first appearance made people doubt me. I was a sixteen years old back then and the rest of the women were like my mom or eighteen at minimum. Of course, I shouldn't be competing at such level, but Mrs. Jones, you can say she's my boss. She convinced the judges and got me into the competition. Long story short, I won that year and became the youngest ice skater to win the NWPIS. My reign is still on going and never have I lost yet. It's been nine years, maybe I should stop and let someone else win.

I sit down and take my skates off. Today has been another successful day and I enjoyed it a lot.

"Tomorrow, let's do a new set of choreography. We have to prepare for the infamous three stages of free skates," John informs me.

"Or we can go along with our old ones," I suggest.

"We can't. Something new has to be produce each year."

"I mean, if you have the energy to do that. Each routine that I do is perfection, even my old ones."

"We will make a new routine, Ice Queen."

"If you say so," I put my sneakers on then stand up to zip my thin white windbreaker. "Have a good night, John."

"Goodnight to you too, Ice Queen," I carry my duffel bag on one shoulder then turn away to exit the arena. Every time John calls me 'Ice Queen', I want to cringe. True that the title is nice, but it is overused by him.

Ahh... It doesn't get any better than this. I smile back at the sun after opening the curtains. It loves me. It gives me something to wake up to.

"Dawson? New offers just came in, we would like you to see it yourself," my secretary tells me through the phone.

"I'll be right there," I said with a mouth full of oatmeal. After doing all my business, I grab my keys and leave the house.

"This is amazing! And this too! Ah, I love them!" I shout in happiness. All the offers are laid in front of me, on the meeting table that holds ten seats. I move to the next work of art: drawing, painting, photography, or digital art. "Bummer. I can't buy all of them," the last picture catches my attention. "Well who is this?" I ask.

The photo shows a female ice skater. She wears a light paled turquoise dress, but it ends in a mini skirt that covers her mid-thighs. The skater is on one toe as her other leg is raise back. Her arms are out, but not stiff. I think what really gives this picture a feel is her expression and how the light is shine on her. Her eyes are closed which makes you feel her relaxation.

"That is Rylee Garland, or known as Ice Queen," my secretary inform me.

I cross my arms then hold my chin between my thumb and index finger. "Hum... make this as my first choice," I went on to pick three other offers then dismiss everything.

I love my business. I love it so much that it has made me a workaholic, but I don't regret it. They said if you love your job, you'll never work a day in your life.

I'm supported by my small family of four: My parents, sister, and brother. All of us are grown, I'm the youngest and I'm twenty five. There are great gaps between my siblings and I. But here I am, living in a house that is better than those mansions, penthouses, on skyscrapers, or the hills. It's quite tucked away. Behind the house is the woods, that gives me a sense of appreciation of nature. If it was winter, you'll love how the snow covers the trees. Enough about the house, I live in a wealthy lifestyle. Things that are given to me are free, mostly sponsorship, and that's from cars, watches, boats, physical or nonphysical things, you name it. Apart from that, my network is huge and in life, you need a big network.

"Dawson, it's me," my mom said through the phone. I can feel her smile also.

"Hi, mom. How are you this morning?" I ask.

"I am super duper great! How about you?"

"Mine is super duper great also. I just bought four offers all in total of about four million dollars."

"Well, Dawson. I am proud of you and I believe that this news will also make you the happiest person alive."

I laugh at my mom. What can she tell me that will make me the happiest person alive? "Tell me mom."

"You are now officially married!!!"
