《Alone (Joocie X Laff!)》9

Joocie's point of view:
The sunlight shining through the window woke me up this morning; I hate sunlight. I had to take a minute to process where I was. Then I remembered, I'm in Makaes. I couldn't help but wonder what my life would be like from here on out. I mean, wouldn't you? He wouldn't return me to Pika or Willow, would he? No way, I can't be trusted enough for that. What if I told them everything about Makaes? Okay, then why am I here? That question got answered pretty quickly.
The king walked into the room with absolutely zero facial expression.
"Morning," he said.
"Uh... Good morning..."
"You're probably wondering what plans I have for you?"
"Uh... Yeah."
"Honestly, I have no idea. You can pick. Your first choice is to leave this continent, and never come back. Your second choice is to join our army and fight with us. And your final choice is to die."
Die? Uh.... No thanks.
"Uhm...."
"What's it gonna be?"
I don't really want to leave or die.... Guess I'm fighting, huh?
I took a deep breath in before revealing my final decision.
"I-I guess I'm fighting..."
I wasn't very thrilled about it, it's like I was returning to the old days... This time with a new leader though.
"I wish I could just let you live here, but our rules say otherwise... If you would like to stay here after war, you must fight the battles."
Seems fair enough, I guess..
"O-ok... I'll do that...."
"Good. Allow me to get you out of there."
He opened the door, but grabbed my arm. Probably so I don't run away? But why would I? I have nowhere to go...
Moments later I was taken to get again another room. This one had a few more people though. After the king entered, however, they all left immediately. No questions, no talking, they just left. Laff then went to the door and locked it.

"#1 rule when in battle: Never. Run. Away. You did that the other day."
I looked away, quite embarrassed.
"Now tell me, why did you that? It nearly cost you your life."
"I just didn't want to be there.... They forced me into fighting."
"Mhm.... I see. Well, if you expect for us NOT to hurt you, you must follow orders. The first one always given is to fight, not run."
"Y-yes sir..."
"Please, call me Laff."
I nodded my head... It then got a bit silent. It was kind of awkward.
"I don't have the energy to train you today. You are to report here every single morning at sunrise, or there will be consequences. Understand?"
"Yes..."
"Good. You are not to leave my side today either; I don't feel like i can fully trust you quite yet. No offense."
"I get it, it's fine..."
Then we left that weird room and the rest of the day went by super slowly. Laff gave me a room to sleep in that was almost surrounded by guards, so I couldn't run even if I tried.
