《Just Another Bad Boy》42. Stress grays

"I can't believe you agreed to this." I glared at my boyfriend who was currently laying across my bed.

"Did you expect me to say no?" He laughed.

"Yes!" I yelled.

I was shaking with either anger or fear. I couldn't decide which one it was.

"They are my parents and you've met them before." He reminded me.

I sighed I tugged on the dress I was wearing one last time. I had picked out a black t shirt dress and a pair of vans. I wanted to be casual but also look nice. Trevor has tried to tell me that I didn't need to wear a dress and that my normal attire was fine but I refused to listen to a word he said.

"This is a big deal." I told him.

This was the first time I was having dinner with his family since we started dating. I saw them mostly in passing, I'd be over Trevor's but I wouldn't stay for dinner. I went to New Year's Eve but because of Trevor's grandma passing his parents didn't go.

Trevor wanted to do it earlier but with our fight and then the passing of his grandma it never seemed to be a good time. It was finally a time that seemed good and I would be lying if I said I wasn't incredibly nervous.

"You have no reason to be nervous, my parents love you." He assured me.

"What if they are acting and actually hate me and want us to break up?" I started to let my head take things to the worst possible place.

"My mom may be crazy but she's not that crazy." He got off my bed and walked over to me.

He wrapped his arms around me and just pulled me into his chest. Just being in his arms helped calm some of my nerves.

"Everything is going to go great." He assured me.

"And if it doesn't I'm blaming you."

"So when do I get to meet you're parents?" He questioned.

I had waited for him to ask, it had been a question that had been stressing me out ever since we started dating.

"Are you trying to make me get stress grays?" I complained, dodging the questioned.

"Come on Ella, I want to meet them." He urged.

"You have meet them."

"In passing, why don't you seem to want to have me over for a family dinner?"

If I thought I was nervous before, I felt like a million times worse after he asked that. He knew my family wasn't the most loving and he knew my parents weren't really friendly to each other but he still wanted to know where I came from.

"They never asked." I shrugged.

"Well I want to come over so can we do that sometime soon?" He asked.

"Trevor," I sighed not wanting to get into why I didn't think it was a good idea.

"What?"

"My family isn't like yours, we don't have family dinners. My parents can't stand to be in the same room for longer than like five minutes."

I didn't want to break down in front of Trevor but I was frustrated. I knew how hard this was to want to build a solid relationship with the fact he couldn't sit down and actually meet my parents. I wished they cared enough to put all the issues they had aside long enough to have this dinner but instead I was left with reality.

"Hey, it's ok. Don't worry about it, we will figure it all out." He assured me and kissed my forehead.

Every time he just wrapped his arms around me and just comforted me it just made me fall harder for him.

"You're kinda spectacular," I grinned.

"I know." He winked.

"Don't make me take it back." I smacked his arm.

"You wouldn't dare."

"Don't push me Walker." I teased.

He didn't even bother answering he just crashed his lips against mine in a heated kiss. I didn't know where the intensity came from but I wasn't complaining. I wanted nothing more than to be able to get lost in the kiss but our plans for tonight popped into my head and I pulled back.

"We are going to be late if you keep this up." I told Trevor.

"I don't think my parents will mind." He shrugged and leaned in for another kiss.

I easily dodged his attempts and smiled at my very frustrated looking boyfriend.

"Come on we need to leave." I grabbed his hand and led him out of my room.

"Why did I agree to this dinner again?" He muttered to himself.

I just shook my head at him.

I had been thinking the same thing earlier. While I was nervous for this dinner I tried to remind myself that Trevor's parents liked me and everything was going to go great.

--

"You ready?" He asked.

I just nodded. He pushed his front door open and led me into his apartment. Trevor's mom was bouncing around the kitchen humming to herself. She didn't seem to notice we had arrived. It was sweet to watch her setting everything up for the dinner.

"Please don't tell me dad let you cook." Trevor said walking over to greet his mom.

"Fix your attitude," She smacked his shoulder.

"Hi Mrs. Walker." I greeted.

"It's good to see that my son hasn't scared you away yet." She chuckled.

"I found it." Trevor's Dad walked out of their room holding an album in his hands.

"What is that?" Trevor eyed the object in his father's hands.

"Nothing you need to worry about." Trevor's mom smiled and took it from her husbands hands.

"Mom," Trevor gave his mother a questioning look.

She just laughed.

"Trevor, help your dad with dinner. Ella and I are going to sit in the living room." She walked over to me and led me to the couch.

She didn't say anything, she just handed me the album. I flipped it open and the first picture I saw was of her and her husband. She was very pregnant and they were in this apartment but it was empty.

"That was the day we moved in here," She sighed looking at the picture with me.

I flipped to the next page and let out a soft laugh when I saw a crying baby, who I was guessing was Trevor.

"He hated pictures and just seemed to love to cry every time I took out the camera." She laughed at the picture of little Trevor. "Luckily he grew out of that and we actually got some good pictures of him."

I turned to the next page and saw Trevor again but this time he was crawling towards the camera with a huge smile on his face.

"He was such a cute baby." I couldn't help but sigh at the cuteness.

"The next one is even better." She turned the page for me.

I couldn't help but let out a loud laugh at the picture of Trevor in a batman costume. He was standing on top of his bed looking like he was ready to jump off of it.

"Are those my baby pictures." Trevor yelled.

"No," His mom lied.

"Mom! I told you not to bring those out." He stormed over and snatched the album away.

"It's just a little bit of fun, she didn't see the one I took when you got into my makeup." She smiled.

"Can I see it?" I questioned.

"No,"

"Of course,"

Trevor and his mom said at the same time.

I couldn't keep the smile off of my face. I don't know why I thought this night would be a disaster.
