《Sunshine (Sun x Child Reader)》☀️ Chapter 3 ☀️

You drop your crayon and look at the drawing, the proportions of the body looked a bit off but other then that the coloring was quite impressive for your age. Sun began to wander around the daycare where all the kids were hunched over scribbling away. "Wow that's a great drawing!" Sun said, pointing to a child's drawing. "That's my dog scruffy!" The child said with a toothy smile. The drawing showed a black and white dog with a fluffy tail, you could just make it out. You were sitting far away from the other kids. Suns head pointed towards your direction, you jump in surprise. His facial design was quite creepy, but his kind and fun personality made up for that.
He skips towards you, his head rocking back and forth. "Hellooo! Now what have you drawn?" He leans his tall figure down to look at your drawing. He doesn't talk for a while, he just looks at it. "Come here!" He says taking your hand and jerking you upwards, you don't even have time to react. He grabs your drawing and drags you over to a wall. "Okay now wait here!" He says letting go of your hand. He rushes back over to the small cabinet, leaning over and feeling around for whatever he was looking for. "Ah!" He says jumping with joy. He pulls out a small bottle of glitter glue.
He rushes back over to you, then pumps the glitter glue onto the wall. If I did that to my wall my mama would kill me! He takes the drawing and places it carefully onto the glue-covered wall, straightening the creases out with his hands. "It's lovely." He says calmly. It's the first time you've heard him not shout. You smile, then look at the other kids. They're all playing and shouting, some are drawing. "Why don't you go play with those kids?" Sun says. You look downwards. "I don't like them." You say quietly so they don't hear you, though your too far away for them to hear you anyway.

"Why not? They're all super nice!" He shouts, distressed. "I don't know." You say rubbing your eyes, that are now starting to tear up. "Ahh! Don't cry!!" He exclaims, hopping around with his hands on his head. You feel incredibly embarrassed, you want to stop crying but you feel overwhelmed. "Your drawing is amazing! It looks just like me!" You wipe your tears and look up at him. "Really?" You say in a soft shaky voice. He nods, his spikes bouncing in the air with the movement. You laugh a little. "Your funny." You say wiping your eyes a bit more.
"I'm glad you stopped crying!" He says getting closer to your face. His eyes jitter a little, then he moves away. "Your guest profile says your eight years old, and your name is (y/n) right?" He says rotating his head a little in confusion. "Yeah but.. how did you know that?" You say, a bit worried. "I scanned your guest profile!" He says with a spin. That doesn't really explain it but okay..
You look towards the play place and see that boy again, examining the generator and pressing random buttons. "Mister sun he's messing with the generators again." Sun jumps and runs towards the boy shouting. "Weird." You whisper to yourself. I wonder why he cares so much, I mean I know it would be a hassle turning the lights back on but... he looks.. scared? "Im putting you in time out!" He says dragging the boy by the shirt. "Hey!!" The boy shouts. Sun drops him in the corner of the daycare. "Stay there until I say you can leave!" Sun shouts sternly, motioning the boy to sit down.
"Ugh.. why cant I mess with the generator?" The boy complains crossing his arms and sitting down. "Because some people here are scared of the dark!" Sun says motioning the boy to stay there. "Like who?" The boy says with a cheeky smirk. Sun doesn't respond, instead he just looks away. "Whatever." The boy says looking away from sun. Is he looking at me? Sun wanders off to the other kids, but the boy sneaks off towards you. "Damn snitch." The boy says grabbing you by the hair. "Ow!" You yelp.

"Shut your tattling mouth up!" He says pushing you over. You fall on your face. "I'm turning those lights off no matter what." He exclaims standing over you. "But why?" You say, holding back tears. "You seriously haven't heard?!" He asks pulling you upwards by your arm, forcing you into a sitting position. "Didn't you see that awesome golden statue?" He says with a smile.
"There's two guys! Ones a sun and the others a moon." He explains with this crazy look in his eyes. "It's way too bright in here for moon to come out, so if I turn off the lights..?" You understand what he's saying, but you still feel like there's a reason Sun doesn't want them off.

Old Riding Author Lunatic Asylum
Just off the A19, in the dark, incomprehensible lands known as Yorkshire, there lies a town. A town where shadow-silent alleys glint with the secret hunger of knives. Where blood soaks the chipboard window shutters of forsaken terraces stretching off into the night. Where the smog-choked air rattles with the depraved laughter echoing out from clubs that can only generously be described as post-apocalyptic. Well, that’s Middlesbrough. But down the A19 a bit (an impossibly long way down, actually) there lies another town: Raughnen, in the ancient, forgotten Old Riding. It is an equal match in muggery and thuggery alike. It also has magic spells and pointy wizard hats. And now, across the miles and across all sensibilities, a pretty nasty power (a magic one) calls out for its pretty nasty counterpart (a decidedly unmagic one): a proper sound Boro lad. Nothing good can come of it. This is a collection of one novella and four connected short stories: I. A Yorkshire Summoning II. Old Riding Day Trip (the novella) III. Heaven is a Parmo IV. Death on the 66 V. Death on the 257 In total, this comprises 34 chapters totalling around 35,000 words, so try not to worry. It will be over relatively quickly. There are three more short stories with more tenuous links to the core collection: Rush, Paper Round and Scenario 79: Sausage Fingers, all of which can be found in my collection Short Records of Misadventure. Reading these may allow you to make more sense of certain parts of the story, if any sense is to be made at all. NOTE: There are instances of prejudice and discrimination within these stories, including elements of sexism and ageism, which are purely the thoughts and actions of the characters involved and which certainly do not reflect my own views on these matters. ANOTHER NOTE; A WARNING, PERHAPS: This can get a bit weird. In less than 150 pages, we have four viewpoints, first and third person narratives, and a completely disjointed plot with lots of gaps, dead ends and no real resolution. Also ZERO lunatic asylums. It's all a bit odd. If that sort of thing isn't your cup of tea, which it most likely isn't, it might be best to move on now.

In the boundless multiverse, all possibilities, no matter how remote, exist somewhere. Universes are born, or are created, and die, or do not. In the vast Myriad Heavens Cosmos, a reality far away from our own, a mysterious energy called Mana provides the basis for both physical techniques and magical techniques, and interweaves and is part of all matter, all spirits, and all energy. Mana is the lifeblood of the world, and those who channel and cultivate its power are called cultivators, for they strive to grow along the myriad paths of power and enlightenment. There are many such paths, known as Dao, but they all feature Shards! When a being, man, beast, or otherwise, gains a large enough Mana sea in their body, a crystal core, known as a shard, containing the essence of their power, the ideals and emotions that motivate them, and the essence of their soul will form. A beast which cultivates to the level of forming a shard is called a Magical Beast. A human or other being that does is known as a Mystic. A shard may be a Mage Shard, allowing one to use mana to attack with the elements and produce fantastical, reality bending spells. A shard may also be a Warrior shard, channeling elemental and mana power into one’s physical form, shaped into projectiles, or various other uses; or it can be a Immortal Shard, with the abilities of a Warrior and Mage shard both, and others besides. Anyone who forms an Immortal Shard has the potential to shock the vast planes of reality! In the eternal struggle between the living, who will gain advantage, and for how long? Who will live and who will die? Who will protect and guide the commoners, and fight rogue Mystics and Beasts? Into this world, a child with a potential beyond his wildest imaginations is born.
