《Strings of Fate - Avenger's Soulmate Story》Chapter 8

Every few weeks I get a big order of baked goods and I have to stay up late to prepare and bake everything. Usually I stay alone because it honestly helps me put my thoughts together.
It was time to close the shop and I saw Wanda and her friend entering the shop. I went towards them and they looked up,"Hi, Serafina this is my friend Maria, Maria this is Serafina, Peter's soulmate." I blushed a little when they mentioned Peter,"Hi, nice to meet you, I am so sorry for causing so much trouble for you two", I say apologetically. "Nonsense, this gave us a nice break from all the work. And believe me when I say that this was much needed." i laughed, I already I'll be close to these two.
They sat down near the counter as I made them some coffee to begin with. "So tell us about yourself Serafina.", asks Maria. "And don't worry, anything you tell us will stay between us", Wanda smiled at me. Peter told me a lot about them, so I know I can trust them. I tell them the same things I told May, about my past. Once again I was pulled into a bone-crushing hug, I'm not gonna lie....it feels amazing to have someone care about you.
Once we were done with coffee, I asked them if they wanted anything to eat. "I think we should start working first, we'll take short breaks throughout anyways", chuckled Maria. I started making the cookie dough and I gave them the duty for scooping them and putting it in the oven.
Maria was right, we took a lot of food breaks. At one point we even started eating the leftover rough dough.
At one point, Wanda decided to snap a picture of me and send in on their group chat. Then she proceeded to send pictures of us throughout the night. i do admire how close they all are even though they just work together.

"So Peter told me you have multiple soulmates....Have you found them?",asked Wanda.
Flashback
Just stay with me and I'll protect you.
I don't want any of my mates, if they will try to separate me from you I will leave them.
Please just don't let go of our memories.
~
"No actually.... I don't even know how many soulmates I have.", I told them honestly.
"Why, I mean don't you have your marks?",asked Maria. I could tell she felt bad for me.
"Well I don't know how to explain this but there was an incident after which a well wisher thought it would safer for me if I hide my soul marks. So they put a spell on me to hide my marks. I can't even feel it if they are close to me or not", I answered.
"Don't worry babe, you'll find them soon",Wanda tried to console me.
"I hope so, I just wish they would accept me and not think of me as freak or something. I come with a heavy past which, if I'm completely honest, still affects me.",I confessed my biggest fear.
"If someone rejects you, then they must be out of their mind", stated Maria, making me giggle.
"Hey guys, I think the cookies are burning", Wanda said, making us all dash towards the kitchen.

It was 3 in the morning, and we had just finished making the complete order. The customer was coming to pick them up, in the meantime we decided to treat ourselves for working so hard and decided to get some alcohol. The three of us sat on the floor, with a wine bottle and started drinking.
"Hey, this morning your friend mentioned something happening the last time you stayed here, what happened?", Wanda suddenly remembered.

"Oh that....there was this creepy dude, who tried to enter the shop. I locked the doors and everything so he kept yelling through the window. He kept going on and on about how he was super rich and I should marry him as him and I would make a good couple. I didn't what to do, so acted like I dropped dead on the floor. He was so creeped out he ran away immediately.", I narrated the entire incident and we ended up sharing a good laugh. (This is based on real events actually )
Soon we heard a knock on the door, I checked to see that it was the customer. They were so happy with the order that they paid me twice as much for completing so fast. Lucky day for me i guess.
"Hey what will you wear at the party tomorrow?",asked Maria. "I had forgotten about that, what sort of a party will it be? I mean real fancy or just casual?", I ask them, wondering if I will have to go shopping.
"Well Tony likes to host very lavish parties so I'm going to say this one will be "real fancy" as well.", replied Wanda. I mean I did get a lot of money today soooo.......
"Would you like to come dress shopping with me tomorrow?", I asked them with puppy eyes.
"HELL YES" They both yelled in unison.
"But a little late though, because I want to take a nice long nap first as I am really tired, and I am sure you are too", I told them. "You know what just call us whenever you wake up and we'll go.", said Wanda, already looking quite excited.
~
Soon it was time to say goodbye, we made a group chat for the three of us and made sure to discuss the meeting place before they left. I closed my shop, ran back to my apartment and went to sleep. I was so tired, I did not even bother washing the chocolate off my face, or dusting the flour from my hair. For the first time in years,I had a dreamless sleep.Today was a good day in a very long time.
Wanda and Maria's message at their group chat:
• Wanda to "Avengers Assemble"
"Sweet" memories
Maria to Avengers Assemble:
Is a certain Agent Romanoff feeling jealous ?
•Wanda to "Avengers Assemble"
Its time time for wine....
•Maria to Avengers Assemble:
Tony you are missing out on this......;)

Good Guy Necromancer
Necromancers are murderous, repulsive, utterly ungodly creatures. And then there's Jerry. Jerry is a novice necromancer who treats his undead warmly, seeks to befriend people instead of harvest their bodies, and doesn't mind cracking a skull or two when needed. He genuinely is a good guy—too bad nobody believes him. Trying to discover his place in the world, Jerry will live great adventures. He will make friends, each unique in their own way, and together, they will travel through a variety of striking environments; from a tiny village, to the land of the dead, to a jolly archipelago, to a kingdom on a beanstalk. To save a world that shuns him, Jerry must stand against a large organization of arrogant, mighty wizards. He strives to become stronger while maintaining his kindness, only to realize that, maybe, gentle hearts make the greatest necromancers. This is the story of a delightful man in a harsh world—full of warmth, action, and wise-cracking bone puns. Chapters are usually 2-3k words, and updates are 3/week: Mon, Wed, Fri. If you're looking for another fun, action-packed adventure, check out Cultivator vs. System by yours truly, available on Kindle, KU, and Audible. But read Good Guy Necromancer first.
