《Stoned is Angel's Grace》Sleepy Heroes

(AN: I have no excuses, I just wanted to do this.)

He slaps the already bruised face of the Archangel. "Don't pull a stunt like that again!" The Winchester shouts, "you can barely use your powers around those things, then you nearly get yourself killed by smiting them all!" He adds angrily, "wow Sammy, just trying to help. If I have had known I'd get yelled at for helping, I never would have come," Gabriel says. "You never would have been able to help yourself. You would have always come along," Sam crosses his arms. "Look, just heal yourself and don't do it again. Also, next time you want to face God knows how many weeping angels, make a plan, don't just act," Sam adds. Gabriel rolls his eyes, "still just trying to help. And if I recall, past you was begging for my help. Maybe I'll go and stop the Apocalypse instead of helping you," Gabriel announces.

Sam scoffs and turns on his heels and walks over to the table he was sitting at until Gabriel woke up. It was only a few hours that the Trickster had passed out for. Sam picks up the blue book, studying the key hole. He squints while trying to look at the patterns on the lock, but it doesn't help.

"What have you got there?" Gabriel asks, he snatches the book away and turns his back to Sam, who had begun his protest and grabby hands in an attempt to get the book back.

"Come on, can't share a little secret with your partner in crime?" Gabriel smirks, he turns to face Sam as he looks down at the book. "Enochian symbols, and some other symbols, a lock too... Where'd you get it, Samhontas?"

"The library," Sam dead pans. "I don't recall you ever checking a book out... Did good boy Sam Winchester steal something?" Gabriel teases, he tosses the book at Sam, it lands flatly on his chest, winding him slightly.

"You're still covered in bruises. What did they even do to you?" Sam asks, keeping the book close to his side. "They tortured me, Sam. What do you think? You think they braided rainbow flowers in my hair while I sat blind folded and sipping green tea? They want me dead but they want me to feel pain. Now I've got no clue as to why they want that, but they do. Not to mention that every time I'm around one of them, my powers don't fully function. Also, even after I've been around them, they still seem to impact my powers a little, so I'm sorry if my healing process isn't fast enough for you," Gabriel snaps.

Sam sets the book aside, "go to sleep," he instructs.

"What, why? Angels don't need sleep."

"But they can, and you will. The body does most of its healing when it's asleep. So goodnight Gabriel."

Gabriel pouts, "I'm doing just fine," he says.

"Bed, now."

"You know, you make me all tingly when you talk like that."

Sam rolls his eyes.

"Just go, the fuck, to sleep."

Gabriel flops on to his bed, "I still don't get why you're bossing me," he says. "Because you need to heal up. Who knows what's going to happen next?" Sam says, Gabriel sighs and rolls over. "Night," Gabriel mumbles into his arm, Sam gives an achieved smile "night," he whispers.

Sam looks back to the blue leather book, he picks it up again and he turns it in his hands, thinking.

Soft snores can be heard, Sam looks up and over to Gabriel who is sleeping peacefully.

Angels don't sleep.

But they CAN sleep.

Angels don't sleep.

But Gabriel made the decision.

Angels don't sleep.

Stone statues can't move.

But they can now.

Angels don't need sleep...

Sam looks back to the book, maybe he should give the Doctor a call? Nah, too soon, Sam should think on his own a little. He moves over to a desk and sits down, he pulls his laptop up and begins researching again (he did a little work while Gabriel was passed out). He feels his own eyes droop but fights it. Soon enough, his head is hanging and two lots of soft snores can be heard around the room.

------

Sam snaps awake with a snort, his head feels dizzy and his back feels all out of place, so he straightens out (AN: Not even Sam can do that). He stretches uncomfortably and looks at his laptop sleepily, websites on 'Time-Lords' have been spilt across the screen, and multiple notes have been laid around Sam.

"Well okay then. Don't ever fall asleep at your computer," he says to himself. He picks up the notes and begins reading.
