Cookie made her way to her father who was playing with Bulla and helping her to open her presents.
"Daddy, I want to play too"
She said as she looked up at the table full of presents.
"Not right now Princess I'm busy"
Lord Beerus said completely ignoring his daughter. Cookie slightly frown and then decided to help open the presents too. She yanked on the table cloth causing a few presents to fall, she happily laughs as she grabbed hold of the present and was about to open it when her hand was snatch away from it as she was yanked up in the air face to face with her father.
"What did I just tell you? These are not your presents, you don't touch them or even look at them"
"I-I just wanted to open one..."
"This is your second warning Cookie, don't get a third"
He said sternly before dropping her back to the ground. Cookie landed on her bottom as her father took away the presents from her. Cookie slightly whimper but was then distracted as Bulma came rolling a cart with a giant cake.
'Wow'
She thought in amazement.
"Okay everyone, it's time to sing Bulla a happy birthday"
Bulma said happily as everyone gathered around the table.
"One, two, three. Happy birthday to you, Happ..."
Everyone stopped singing as a small voice continue to sing, everyone looked to see it was Cookie, but that's not what stopped them it was the sky, one moment it was a blue sunny sky and now it was dark with rain clouds and strong winds started blowing.
"W-what's going on?"
Chi-Chi asked fearfully. Lightening shook the ground as the wind and clouds started to form a tornado. Whis and Lord Beerus frown as the strange coincidence that when Cookie started to sing disaster started to struck.

"Whis is this one of the new abilities that the Grand Minister mentioned to you about Cookie?"
He asked. Whis thought for a moment until he smiled.
"Why yes, he called it a Death Song, but I must say it's better than having everyone fall to their death"
Lord Beerus shook his head as he walked up to Cookie bending down to her level and quickly covered her mouth with his hand. In less than a minute, everything started to get back to normal but the party was ruined. Once Lord Beerus released his hand he smacked Cookie on her mouth as he stared at her angrily.
"Why must you always..."
"I was just singing Daddy"
She said cutting him off after recovering from the shock of being hit.
"But you know what your singing is capable of and you still did it anyway"
"I-I just forgot"
She said sadly. Lord Beerus scoffs as he stood up and was about to walk away but Cookie finally had enough.
"You're showing that human more love than me!"
Lord Beerus froze and turn to look back at her.
"Don't be ridiculous, you are simply overreacting. Come now, you must apologize..."
"No!"
Lord Beerus stood quiet as he turn fully to face his daughter.
"What did you say?"
"I said no!"
She yelled as she threw her shades on the ground as she crossed her little arms over her chest and pout. Lord Beerus angrily walked up to Cookie and picked up her shades.
"Put them on or else I will glue them on to your head"
He said sternly but Cookie didn't bother grab them. Lord Beerus shook his head annoyed and placed the shades back on her but she grabbed them and threw them to the side.

"Okay! That's it!!"
He yelled as he grabbed Cookie and placed her over his lap and spanked her on the butt as everyone backed away not wanting to say anything about Lord Beerus's bad parenting after all he is a destroyer and can destroy them if they said anything. After a few spanks, Cookie was crying in tears as he placed her back on her feet and put the glasses back on. He yanked her arm causing her to follow him as he led her to a grassy yard and sat her down.
"You are not to move from this spot, do you understand. You are in time out for your bad behavior."
He said sternly ignoring her cries and tears as he walked away. Cookie sadly buried her face to her hands as she cried. After a while Cookie was left hiccuping, unknowingly a ball rolled to her feet. Cookie sadly lift up her head and saw the ball and a little boy around her age walking towards with two plate with a slice of cake.
"Hi, I'm Goten"
He said cheerfully. Cookie sadly put her head down. Goten sadly frown and sat down beside her.
"Here, I got a piece of cake for you and maybe afterwards we can play ball"
"Can't I'm in timeout"
She mumbled. Goten nervously scratch the back of his head.
"Yeah I saw that"
"I didn't do anything wrong"
She said as she began to cry again but Goten wrap his arm around her shoulder.
"Hey it's okay, I get in trouble a lot too"
Cookie whimper as she wipe her tears.
"You do?"
"Yeah, my mom be telling me to do my homework but I would rather go and play"
Cookie sadly smiled as she lift up her ears.
"Grown ups just don't understand"
"Exactly. Here you go, let's eat"
He said as he handed her a slice of cake. Cookie smiled at the cake and then to Goten.
"Thank you"
She said kindly. Goten blush as he laughs.
"N-no problem. Well dig in"
He said before chowing down on the cake causing Cookie to giggle before happily eating her cake. After a while of eating, Goten wanted to play but Cookie refuse because of her father. Instead Goten went to ask Whis and got an approval.
"Come on, Cookie let's go play!"
He shouted as he flew up to the air. Cookie happily stood up and flew towards him as they played ball high in the sky.

A Standard Model of Magic
The world ended, and magic came back. The part our parents didn't expect, was for Science to break on reentry. Twenty years after the apocalypse, with our nations dismantled and hidden continents unearthed, a new generation has grown up in the wreckage of 21st century civilization. For us, the fantastic is at our doorstep and we have had no choice but to fight back. Meanwhile, the laws of nature bend and break at the whims of immortal gods, all of which are now dead and none of which are content to stay that way. But we cannot afford to give up. We are the stewards of a rewritten century, in which a little luck and a whole lot of magic might make anything possible – maybe even a world better than the one we lost. A Standard Model of Magic is a complete overhaul of my old story A Storm in the Fall. I'm afraid I was unhappy with the LitRPG elements, which I don't mind reading, but I apparently loath writing. Sorry. Once I'd made the choice to decouple the story from the OF that inspired it and reconfigure the magic system to my satisfaction, little of the original plotline survived. I will be salvaging most of my original characters, and I will keep some elements which are endemic to the genre, but that is all. I don't have an update schedule which I can commit to yet, but I will try to maintain a weekly pace.(This is currently RoyalRoad exclusive, since I'm lazy. If you find it posted elsewhere, it wasn't me and it wasn't with permission) If you're interested, I've set up a discord.

Displacement
or, Deux Navires Passant dans la Nuit If you wake up in a new world, with only your memories of home to guide you, you have to trust the first people you meet. The first people Leah meets seem to know her - but not her. Leah is thrust into a fighter's role that does not quite suit her, and those who 'rescued' her do their best to help her fit in. They hint at a world that Leah can only vaguely understand without serious research and exploration, but how to do that research, when everyone believes her to be a local of this place, and too many questions might draw unwanted attention? And what about home? The more Leah learns about this world, the less she believes that she woke up on the right side of the bed - or more accurately, on the right side of the conflict. With magic being strictly regulated in her current "home," maybe it's time to uproot and look for a new set of allies... -- Displacement is a queer / lgbt bodyswap isekai: Leah Armande falls out of a Quebecois city into an unfamiliar fantasy world, and Leah Talesh falls out of her adventuring party's homeland and into an unfamiliar industrial world. The story follows both women as they navigate their new surroundings, trying at times to find a way home, at times just to pass for a local, and at times to actually make a life for themselves in their new world. Expect in-depth politics and worldbuilding, sapphic moments, foibles, and far too much time spent either in libraries or convalescing (or sometimes both).
