《Sticky Love - OsaYama (Osamu x Yamaguchi) -Haikyu!!-》Chapter 1: Encounter

It was a cold night, Osamu was walking around in the street. He should be resting like the others but his twin, Atsumu had to bring Sakusa to their room for some alone time.
"God damn it, it's so cold outside!" He shouted to the wind. One more reason to hate having a twin.
He suddenly heard faint cries, he was curious and had nothing to do so he decided to investigate it. As he got closer he saw a familiar face, laying on the ground.
"Yamaguchi, right?" The freckled boy was stunned. He clearly didn't expect anyone to be in this place during this time and he surely didn't expect anyone to remember him. "Are you alright?" Of course, he's not!? His crying idiot! Osamu thought to himself.
"I'm sorry, it's stupid so don't mind me." The freckled boy wiped the tears from his eyes.
"I don't think it's stupid if you cried about it," Osamu said sitting next to him. "If you don't cry about something important, now that's stupid."
Yamaguchi widened his eyes. He couldn't really talk to his team about this so maybe he can tell it to a stranger. He hesitated but soon began to open up. "It's just, I can't move on from Tsukki!" He uttered. "It's been months since we broke up and we broke up properly too. It's just, it's so hard. I'm just pathetic."
Osamu can feel his heart drop a little. His first crush already had a boyfriend but then again, after he realized they broken up he may still have a chance. Still, Yamaguchi was clearly grieving and Osamu can't help feel bad about him feeling a little hope at that moment.
The grayed haired boy stood up, holding up his hands for the freckled boy. "Why don't we walked around." Yamaguchi just tilted his head. "Come on, walking does wonders for your brain and body. Plus, it's a little cold so staying in one place isn't really a good thing. The name is Osamu Miya, by the way,"

"I know that, I remember you from the match yesterday." Yamaguchi smiled before grabbing his hands, helping him off the ground. "You guys were pretty good too! I still can't believe you guys imitated our weirdo quick that easily!"
Osamu felt his heart explode at that moment. He couldn't tell why though. Was it because he got to talk to him, the praise, his smile, or was it because they held hands even for just a moment. Maybe all of the above.
The two just walked in silence. The freckled boy started to feel better. His mind was focused on not stepping on the lines on the pavement, thinking to himself that if he did, he would die or someone else might.
Cute.
Osamu noticed what he was doing and started to do the same. Both of them try to avoid stepping on the lines on the pavement together. At one point, Yamaguchi grabbed Osamu's hand, pulling him away and saving him from stepping on a line.
Osamu took a deep breath before thanking Yamaguchi for saving his life. The two giggled when either of them almost stepped on a line, looking at each other with relief. They looked like children playing on the streets but the two didn't mind the eyes of people staring at them.
Osamu couldn't remember the last time he had fun from simply walking. Suddenly, Yamaguchi stopped when he saw a familiar pair walking towards them. It was Tsukishima and Yachi, taking a stroll together. The two have recently started dating. Yachi had his arms around Tsukishima, the tall blonde smiled brightly. Yamaguchi never saw Tsukki smiled like that before. They were laughing together clearly enjoying each other's company.
"Oh, hey there Yamaguchi-kun!" Yachi waved at him before dragging Tsukishima towards him. "We were wondering where you were. Just a reminder that the curfew is 9 pm okay?"

Yamaguchi nodded his head quietly, before speaking. "What are you guys doing here?"
"Me and Hitoka just went out for a walk," Tsukishima said.
"My stomach is so full from eating too much Takoyaki, he even fed me some." Yachi giggled.
Tsukishima suddenly blushed. "Please stop being adorable."
Osamu just quietly observed them talk. He didn't really know what to say to the other two. When Tsukishima was about to speak again, he noticed Yamaguchi's body trembling, while holding the hem of the grayed haired guy's shirt.
"Yams?" Tsukishima cried out.
Osamu turned to Yamaguchi. "Are you okay?"
"Yamaguchi-kun, are you crying?" Yachi said.
All of them were concerned about the freckled boy. Yamaguchi whispered something to Osamu but it was too quiet for him to hear, so he leaned closer to the freckled boy. "Osamu. Let's leave, please."
Osamu's eyes widened, immediately getting a hint of what was going on. The grayed haired boy bowed down to the two couple. Osamu pulled Yamaguchi away, holding him from his wrist. He doesn't get the full picture, but Yamaguchi calling to him somehow felt like the freckled boy was going to break down at any moment.
They went to a spot without many people, sitting down at a bench. Yamaguchi was trying his best to choke in his tears while Osamu looked at him with a worried expression.
"That was, Tsukki, wasn't it?" Osamu said. "If you don't want to tell me, it's fine."
"Yeah, it is." He quietly said. His voice was enough for Osamu to hear. Suddenly, tears started to dripped from his eyes.
"You guys broke up months ago right?" Osamu said. "So why are you still into him?"
"Because I wanted that boyfriend! I wanted that boyfriend who treats me like I'm special instead of just saying "Shut up Yamaguchi" Someone who's not afraid to show me that they love me. To hold my hands in public." Tears were falling from his eyes, trailing on his freckles before they fell to the ground. "Why does Yachi get that boyfriend!? If Tsukki can be like that to someones then that means, he was always capable of doing romantic things and showing affection. This means I'm just not worth it."
Yamaguchi started to break down, crying even harder. Osamu immediately hugged Yamaguchi and the crying boy didn't refuse the act of affection. He hugged back while crying on his shoulder. Osamu caressed Yamaguchi's back, trying to calm him down.
They didn't know how long they were holding each other night. Al they remembered is that they were glad to hold on as long as they could and would have done it again.

On a rainy night of watching life pass him by, an explosion suddenly rips our young protagonist out of the bland world he knew. Meeting an old man claiming to be able to use magic, will his life finally change? Will the world finally give him a chance? This is a complete rewrite of my earlier story. Aside from my own personal problems with depression, there were many, many things I came to dislike about the way it was progressing. With the low quality of the earlier chapters, it was in dire need of at least an editing run. Instead of just editing the subpar chapters, I decided to just do it over again and change what I did not like. Please also note that I am not a native English speaker and thus might make mistakes. I have tried hard to find and correct most, but I am certainly not perfect. If you notice anything that is wrong just leave a comment below the chapter and I will try to get to it.
