《Fall》Chapter Eight

Annie had slept on the couch in the living room down stairs that night.

When she woke up, she didn't want to open her eyes. It would just be another morning she'd spend training and for what? What was the purpose of it all? What did it teach her? All Annie had learned from her dad was that he was the only one she could trust. But she doubted that. Everything that her dad was teaching her was only turning her into a monster.

Slowly, Annie opened her eyes. Her eyebrows furrowed. This wasn't her house...where was she? Oh right, and had stayed with Mikasa that night.

Annie sat up and ran a hand through her messy golden hair. She reached into her bag which lied next to the couch and pulled out a hair brush. As she brushed out the tangles she remembered what she had promised Mikasa last night. Her eyes widened, she couldn't tell her. Her dad would kill her if she found out.

Annie quickly finished fixing her hair and putting it into a bun and jumped up from the couch. She grabbed her bag and ran to the door.

"Annie!" Mikasa's voice cane from behind her. Foot steps were headed for the blonde. The steps stopped behind her. "You seem eager to leave." She said.

Mikasa and Annie had gone back upstairs for her to explain what was going on.

Annie had no choice but to say just about everything. Mikasa wouldn't let her go until she did. She said everything from her mother to her abusive dad.

"That's pretty much it...so basically my dad never taught me how to love or feel. Just to close myself off and not let anyone else in." She finished with a sigh.

"Wow." Was her first reaction to Annie's story. "You really have been through a lot. I'm sorry I was such a bitch to you this week...I had no idea." Mikasa put her head down causing her black hair to fall I to her face.

"It's fine." Annie scratched her arm, "I get why you acted like that." Annie stared at the wall.

"Annie, you can stay here as long as you want to it at least can." The black haired girl looked up at the blonde. Mikasa didn't really knew she wanted Annie to stay because she wanted her away from her shitty dad but also...She also liked being around the girl. When it came to one on one conversations, Annie was actually a really fun person to talk to.

"I'll stay for a few more days." The blonde never room her eyes off of the wall, her expression never changed. Something must have been wrong.

"I'll have to go back eventually, though." She sighed.
