I wake up to the sound of the smoke alarm. I hear Leo shuffling around and a groan. "I fucking told her not to cook in the morning," he says through his pillow in a muffled voice.

I sit up and rub my eyes trying to avoid the bright room. When I check the time on my phone it's nine am.

In seconds he's hopped out of bed, swung the door open and heading down the hall. I stay sitting rubbing my head for a minute before groaning and standing up. The piercing noise of the smoke alarm finally stops as I'm walking to the stairs.

Everything in the house is modern and white causing it to be blinding.

Once I'm in the kitchen Keanu is waving a towel and has the door open to get air through. Leo is at the dining table clearly annoyed.

Keanu walks up to me and kisses me on the cheek. "Sorry about this." She laughs lightly. "I made pancakes though."

"They're probably poisonous."

"Oh shut up you cook your own breakfast," Keanu barks at her brother.

"I will." He jumps up and heads to the kitchen. "After seeing your food I'm sure he'll want to make his own as well."

"You're such a asshole," Keanu groans walking out of the kitchen with pancakes on her plate.

An older lady with her grey hair done up into a nice bun walks in.

"Nana." Leo's entire mood changes as he moves to to give her a hug.

I grab a plate before sitting down at the table next to Keanu. She rolls her eyes before talking to me.

"Now I'll have to deal with his annoying ass all weekend. The only time he's ever home."

I don't reply, I just eat the somehow flavourless pancakes in silence.

"I think I'm going to go back to mine tonight," I say to Keanu as we walk upstairs. "You can come over if you want."

"Let me pop into my moms room and ask."

I follow Keanu down the hall to the master bedroom. I don't follow inside but wait in the hall and listen.

"Hey mom can I go to Andrews house tonight?"

"Y- wait no his parents aren't home. I don't want you guys home alone."

"C'mon were not gonna do anything bad. What if Leo comes."

"Nana is here and he definitely will not go."

"Okay what if I invite a friend then we're not alone."

"More people won't make you guys act more mature. No you can't go."

"Please mom."

I walk away so I don't have t listen any more and head back to Leo's room where my bags on the floor. I fold up the sheets and lay them on the bed before grabbing my bag and waiting on Keanu's bed.

"She said I can only stay till like two am. At that point I don't know why I can't just sleepover."

"That's fine I guess. I was going to invite Aleks and Julian if you want to invite Talia."

"Yeah. Alcohol?"

"Tell them to bring their own. I don't have anything."

Lately Liv and I have been texting a bit. Last time I saw her we got to chatting and she got me high as hell for the first time ever it was odd, but we exchanged numbers and occasionally we'll text.

I don't mention to Keanu that the others are going to come hang out with us or that they're Leo's friends. Hopefully she'll be drunk enough that she won't recognize them, she barely knows what they look like.

"If you get drunk then you can't drive home," I say to Keanu. "You'll have an excuse to stay over."

"One my mom will beat my ass and she'll pay for Uber."

I sit there thinking.

"Are you just not going to drink?"

"I'll just ask her if I can go to Talia's tonight and she prob won't believe me but I'll pretend to send a pic later as if we're at Tals house."

I nod my head as Keanu leaves the room again. She returns a bit later all giddy and excited. "She said yeah."

"Okay. I'm going to head out. I've gotta go shower and clean up a bit but I'll see you later, okay?"

"Yeah that works," she says walking up to me and slinging an arm around my neck. "See you tonight." She kisses me before letting me go and I walk out.

I pass Leo in the main room. He doesn't even look in my direction. His curly hair is messy and he's wearing the same T-shirt and sweats as last night.

I contemplate inviting him to come because Mia and Liv are but then I remember who he is.

I head out to my car and drive home. Within the next couple hours I clean up a bit around the house and take a shower.

I text my parents that I'm having some friends over so they don't thinking I'm being sneaky if they see the cars pass through the security cameras on the property.

The cameras are meant to keep intruders out but unfortunately they make it difficult to sneak friends in or get myself out.

With my spare time I watch a movie before heading outside to meet Aleks driving his brand new Bentley. It's Aleks' birthday next weekend. Mia's surprise birthday is in two weekends.

"Hey," Aleks says. Julian gets out of the passenger seat and gives a small wave.

"I haven't seen you in a while," Julian says walking up to me.

"Yeah anytime I have spare time Keanu insists we spend it together," I laugh lightly to hide my annoyance.

"We first ones here?" Aleks ignores my comment as we walk to the door.

"Yeah."

"Speaking of, who's all coming?" We walk inside and take off our shoes before heading to the tv room.

"You guys, Talia." Aleks snarls when I say Talia's name. "And these two other girls."

"Who?" Julian asks raising an eyebrow.

"Mia and Liv," I say. "Did you guys bring something to drink?"

"Yeah I left the bottle on my bag lemme just go grab it." Julian hops off the couch.

"Okay, who the hell are they?"

"Mia and Liv? Oh just some friends of mine. They don't go to Whitewater."

"Well no shit, I'd know their names. Oaks?"

"No they go to Ridgeview Secondary School."

Aleks furrows his brows.

"That really trashy high school downtown?"

"Yes. It's nice to not have uptight preppy friends," I say. "You'll like them trust me."

Liv loves to flirt with basically anyone so I'm sure she'll find her way to Aleks to introduce herself.

I hear the door swing open and Livs voice.

"We're here!"

I walk to where Julian is at the door next to the two girls.

"This neighbourhood holy shit," Liv says handing me a bottle of vodka and walking past me into my house. Mia is a bit slower taking off her heels but she stands next to me.

"Uh, Julian this is Mia and Mia, Julian," I say before leaving to follow Liv. There's a knock at the door and I call for Julian to open it.

"Mind introducing me," Liv says to me in a flirty tone.

"Uh yeah," I say putting the bottle down. "Aleks, Liv."

Julian enters back into the tv room with Mia and Talia. For once Keanu isn't the first one here.

All of us together is just meant to be a small hangout maybe watch the game or play football or something in the basement.

I grab plastic cups in the kitchen and leave them on the coffee table before running to the door after hearing a knock. Keanu steps inside and finally we all sit down chat and drink.

I put on the game and the girls sit in the other room talking and blaring their loud pop music.

Liv is in the tv room with Julian, Aleks and I screaming at the tv with us.

Julian and I secretly play a game that every time Liv and Aleks flirt we take a drink.

Quickly we become more drunk then the others. Mia catches up fast. She comes into the tv room to talk to Liv.

"You're so pretty," Mia slurs to Liv.

Liv who's also drunk at this point pushes Mia's hair behind her ear before laughing, "I know."

"It's so hot in here," Mia says standing up. "God I'm melting."

In the background the game is still playing and I can hear Talia and Keanu giggling in the other room mashed up with the trashy music.

"Just take off your shirt." Liv shrugs turning back to the game.

"Good idea," Mia says and in seconds she's thrown off her shirt and is in just her black lace bra.

She slugs down next to Liv. "Okay now I want to join in on the fun." Liv throws off her light pink tank top somewhere into the room and both the boys make "oooh" sounds.

Mia gets up off the couch to move next to me where there's more space. "Where's Leo?" She asks.

I can't stop laughing at the fact that she's shirtless but I finally calm down and manage to speak. "He hates me why would he come."

"I don't think he hates you," Mia says.

I furrow my eyebrows. "What do you mean? Of course he does."

"You guys annoy each other like kids on a playground. Y'know the whole boys tease who they like."

For a moment I stare at her before processing it's a joke and laughing. She seems confused why I'm laughing but joins in anyway. "You're funny." I say.

Keanu walks into the room with Talia once everyone's laughing for no reason. "What's happ— hey!"

Her eyes immediately dart to the shirtless girl sitting next to me.

The boys and Liv yell at something on the tv but I haven't been paying attention to the game. "Honey, you're too close to my boyfriend shirtless." Keanu makes her way to me and wedges herself in between Mia and I. Talia sits on the edge of the coffee table.

For the rest of the night we all sit around laughing and hanging out.
