《KATANA ~ a MHA fanfic》Chapter 23 - Truth & lies

"I have to admit, it was a lot of fun being the one to seduce this time." the white haired assassin said as she leaned back in her chair and looked out to the fluffy clouds.
"I told you so!"
Katana looked to her sister who was reaching for the remote, but stopped with anxiety written all over her face.
"What's wrong, Anna?"
"It's nothing." she turned to look out her window.
"Could you pass me the remote then?"
"N-no!"
"Anastasia Reina Akito. We were trained by the same man, do you really think you can lie to me about your feelings?" Katana got up from her seat and knelt by her sister who was now sitting on the remote.
"Talk to me."
"It's just... I don't want you to keep getting those headaches and annoying visions..."
"I appreciate the concern but the TV has nothing to do with it..."
Katana looked down and frowned. Even after all this time, she didn't know what caused it in the first place. Earlier, they had just blamed it on the city. But now she got it up in the air on her way to Paris.
"It doesn't make any sense." the blue eyed girl thought to herself and took her sisters hand in hers.
"Don't worry about me, Anna. Everything's gonna be fine."

"Everything's gonna be fine, just look at me!"
"Sh-Shoto... I'm scared." her eyes started to roll back as the villains grip on her neck tightened.
"Don't break eye contact. I promise I'll save you!" I struggled to get off the ground, trying to reach for her hand.
But I was too late.
I woke up from my nightmare sweating and panting. As I sat up, I reached for the window next to me to try and get some air.

This happens every, damn year.
No matter how much I try to not let it defy me as a hero, I can't. Every time the anniversary of her death is about to come up, these nightmares keep occurring. Eating me up from the inside.
It's like the ghost of her is haunting me. Telling me "You should've saved me" Or "you promised".
I let go of all hopes of her being alive when the case got announced as not a priority anymore. That illusion girl most likely had been running around, making us all see her.
But she was never here.
And most likely, she is dead. It wouldn't make any sense that she's just been running around for 5 years now, and not return home.
She's gone. For good. All because I wasn't fast enough.
- - -
"Can I be honest with you, Katana?"
The white haired girl nodded and put her hand in her sisters.
"I-I always blamed Musutafu..."
She paused and took a deep breath before continuing.
"I even pursued extreme measures to get us out of there..."
"What did you do? If you're talking about using our quirks I really don't think-"
Katana was interrupted by Anna shaking her head and speaking.
"No. I met up with those heroes behind your back and gave them all of the information we had on the league..."
Katana let go of her sisters hands and stood up, she couldn't believe what she was hearing.
"What? So that's why it seemed like they solved it overnight, it's because they did! Why the hell would you do that?" the white haired girl assassin yelled.
"Because I wanted to get out of there! You have no idea how hard it was for me to watch you suffer almost every day." the green eyed girl yelled back.

"You're lying..." Katana stepped closer to the dark haired girl.
"You know damn well I've been hurt way worse, and we still completed our missions. And so have you..."
She knelt down again and looked into her sisters eyes, trying to detect any more lies.
"Why'd you want to leave so badly? What are you hiding?"
"I-I... I can't tell you."
"Anastasia-"
"I found out the truth behind your visions! Okay?"
"What truth?"
"That they're... memories."
"I thought we already had talked about it, it's not possible. Besides, why the fuck would I get memories because of a random city?"
"Because it's not just a random city! That stupid place was your home..."
"And how the hell could you know that?"
"Because! I..." Anna paused and took a deep breath, tears glossing her eyes.
"That night... right before you woke up from your rest. I did some research, cause believe it or not I really did want to solve the mystery going on in your head..."
She looked into Katanas eyes and sighed defeatedly.
"Just say it, Anna! What truth?" the blue eyed girl yelled, now getting annoyed.
"Your real name is Zella Mikio!"
"W-what?" Katana said, her voice slightly shaking.
Anna pulled out her work phone and showed her a picture of 16 year old Zella Mikio, or Katana, smiling with her classmates.
"That night, I decided to do whatever it takes to get out of that place. So I gave them the information they needed to finish their case and also end our mission..."
"I-I can't believe you never told me this! Sure, I had my suspicions about the connection between me and that girl b-but if you knew this whole time I-"
"I'm sorry! Okay? I just... I didn't want to lose you to that place!"
Katana sat down on the floor and looked down. She couldn't believe it. It didn't come as a surprise to her, not completely anyways, that she really was Zella Mikio. But it was the fact that her own sister kept it hidden from her and not letting in on the decision to give the heroes all their information, that really hurt her.
"Captain! Don't fly us home yet, we need to make a stop in Musutafu!"
"Katana what are you doing?"
"Something I should've done a year ago..."
- - -
The whole plane ride there me and Anna didn't say a word to each other. I was beyond angry at her because she had been keeping this a secret for almost a whole year. Even though I had no plan whatsoever about what to do when we would arrive, I knew I had to do something.
At first I actually didn't want to return to the city. It was scary to think that everything I've ever known, is actually in a whole different place. That's why a small part of me understands Anna, and that's also why she's tagging along. Otherwise I would've gone by myself.
But, after Anna told me that she found out about... well, me, the first thing I thought of was that teenage boy on the TV. I believe his name was Kai, and I guess he is my little brother.
I wanted to scream at the thought of my truth and run away. Never to return to that place. But then I had to think again.
That poor boy. Losing his sister just like that... it must've been hard on him.
That's why the only reason I'm going back to Musutafu, is to give him some closure. Him and any other family I might have.
Then I would go back to live my life as an assassin. I just hope seeing them doesn't trigger any visions...

Asturian Warbringer - A LitRPG on Earth
Currently releasing 5 chapters a week Luke Kells liked only one thing about himself: his green eyes. He hated getting bullied, hated being poor, hated being an orphan, hated his weakness, hated the government, hated his life. If someone had given him a button to push and kill everyone but him and his granddad, he would've done it without a second thought. Then, one day, after fainting during a beating, he woke up with memories that would change his life. Magic, martial arts, how to craft special artifacts; he knew it all. Anyone would’ve taken that path to glory at once. However, he had to deal with a lot on his plate first. To even begin walking that path, Luke first had to deal with his own psychological issues. Almost two years of brutal bullying that was akin to torture and no support from the school staff of the police had left him with a broken soul. Before even realizing he could be rich or powerful, he had to bring himself out of the mental hellhole he found himself in. Oh, and his memories also told him the Sentinel Tower would change reality in six months to protect the planet from the Demonic Horde. But that wasn’t as important as not making the local bully angry, right? A story about personal growth, overcoming obstacles, and reaching absolute glory at the end of the path. This is a slow-paced, character-centered story. If you want something faster paced, filled with almost immediate and nonstopping action, check out my other novel: Modern Awakening - A cultivation, LitRPG, apocalyptic novel. Project Alpha: A Summary - 'Old Republic to Current Operational Era'
This is the beginning story of an ongoing epic written over a period of ten years. A labor of love for me. We start the story with the summary of what started it all: Project Alpha. A project conceived by the Supreme Chancellor to prevent another Hyperspace Conflict. The project; like all government run projects, spawned other 'side-initatives'. One of which results in the creation of our five main protagonist which are the main characters of the next series of stories. We start at the end of the Great Hyperspace Conflict. The prologue addressing what effect all of this has on the New Hope Era of the Star Wars saga.

Captain Critiques: A Grumpy Pirate Review Book
(CURRENTLY OPEN)When it comes to reviews, I'm probably as harsh as the hellhole most story ideas crawl out of. I'm blunt, sarcasic, to the point and I know what I like in a story. As you can probably guess, you don't wanna take my advice if your like an overprotective mother about your story. Who am I kidding, EVERYONE is like that about their stories. But, if you could find the courage to pry the story out of your cold, crabby hands so I can give my brutally honest opinion then be my guest. Just don't try and start a fight once I provide it. You DON'T wanna fight a pirate. .................................. I reserve the right to decline stories as this will be taking up quite a bit of my time and if I say no, I mean NO. If your blurb is unreadable I will decline it. If it includes the genres mentioned in my 'Hell No' section then I will send it back where it came from.Do NOT critique the Captain.
