《KATANA ~ a MHA fanfic》Chapter 4 - New in town

Katana was now wearing nothing but black tights and a training bra. She walked up to two random girls who were nearby.
"Ok Katana, time to pull out your best acting skills." she thought to herself before approaching them.
"H-hey, I lost my jacket before and I'm f-freezing, do you have a sweater I could b-borrow?" the white haired girl said trying not to expose the fact that she wasn't freezing at all. She just didn't want to be seen and look suspicious in the bar, so she couldn't walk in there with just a training bra and tights.
"OF COURSE sweetie here take my hoodie." one of the girls said giving Katana a dark blue hoodie.
"Thank you so much!" Katana said, putting the hoodie on and walked into the bar. Such sweet girls.
The bar was crowded but Katana could still walk freely. Unless she walked towards the dancing area, that place was impossible to move around in. She quickly spotted the red haired man from before with the green haired one right next to him. She walked towards them so she could be just close enough to hear what they were saying.
"Remember the time she woke Aizawa up from his nap by throwing a water balloon on him?" A pink skinned girl said, laughing.
"And remember how she would freeze Bakugo's hands to stop him from exploding Deku's face off? a blonde haired man said, also laughing.
And then they were quiet. Their happy tears slowly turned into sad ones.
"Man I miss her." the red haired man said, taking another drink from his cup.
A man with heterochromia eyes lifted up a glass before he said-
"It's crazy how we knew each other only for a couple of months, but got so close with her. I know I did. To Micky."

"The manliest girl I knew." the red haired man from before said before clinking his glass with the others'.
"They must really miss her." Katana thought.
She couldn't help but feel sad. This Zella must have meant a lot to them and to lose a friend like that must've hurt a lot. She wondered what had happened to her.
Then she thought of something she's never done before and something her father never would've approved of. But she was already not in the shadows anymore so how much could a confrontation really hurt?
She slowly walked towards the big group and tapped someone on the shoulder.
"Excuse me?"
It was a tall man with dark blue hair and glasses. He turned around and had a warm smile on his face.
"How may I help you?" he asked.
"I was just wondering, I just moved to Japan from the US and came across this ceremony for someone. Could you maybe just explain what it all was about?" Katana said, hoping she didn't sound too suspicious.
His smile faded away and he had a more serious look on his face. A short, cute brunette appeared and stood next to him.
"It was for a girl named Zella Mikio. She died 4 years ago after being kidnapped by a group of villains. A ceremony is held every year to honour her life and it also serves as a reminder of why heroes do what they do. To stop horrible incidents like that from happening."
Katana nodded and understood.
"She used to go to UA high, so that's why the principal holds a speech every year. He feels somewhat responsible." the short girl said with a just as sad look on her face.
"She seemed like a nice girl, but also a girl you used to know." Katana said, tilting her head to the side curiously.

The two adults in front of her looked at each other before looking back at Katana.
"Yeah, she uhm, actually went to our class." the brunette proceeded to say.
Katanas eyes shot wide open.
"I'm so sorry for your loss!"
"Thank you." the dark blue haired man said.
"This is actually sort of a memorial gathering, all of those people were in our class."
Katana looked around and noticed that most people at the bar actually knew each other.
"We are all pro heroes now and work all over country, but we gather here once a year to remember our friend." the short girl said, tears starting to form in her chocolate eyes.
Katana was speechless. She didn't know she would get so much information about this from asking one question. Maybe she should confront people more often while information gathering.
"I see." Katana managed to get out.
She looked down to the floor, fidgeting with her fingers.
"Hey don't bum her out, we're also here to talk about Zellas funniest moments." the alien looking girl from before said, appearing out of what seemed like nowhere.
"My bad." the two said, blushing out of embarrassment.
Katana noticed that more people were walking towards her and the three in front of her. So she quickly turned around trying to avoid exposing herself and walked away.
"It was nice talking to you, have a good night!"
Before they could even say anything back she was already gone. When she opened the door though, a sudden gush of wind blew her hood off, exposing her face and snow coloured hair. The three had turned to the others but two people facing the doors direction saw her right before she disappeared. They looked at each other with faces that said-
"Did you see that?" or rather, "did you see ?".
"I think I've had one too many drinks."
"Yeah me too."

Katana threw herself on her bed just like the night before. She was tired after gathering information all night. When she looked up, Anna was already sleeping. She had even moved the "detective" board into the bedroom so she must've put notes on there right before passing out.
Katana stood up and walked out of the room.
"Good afternoon." Anna said, sitting on the sofa watching TV.
Katana glanced over at the time and saw that it was 2 PM. She couldn't sleep all night because she kept thinking of the two strangers she talked to. They looked familiar and the deep blue eyed girl wondered why she felt like she had heard about the story of this Zella Mikio before.
"I made you some food, it's in the fridge. Eat up and we can talk about the information we gathered last night." her sister spoke.
Tired, Katana smiled and happily went over to fridge where she saw her favourite food awaited her.
"Man I love my sis."

"In my defense, I hadn't actually been trying to get hit by a truck." Artemis wakes up alone in a giant futuristic facility with no hint of where she is, how she got here, or what this means. Yet within two weeks, she is shot at with all the guns, a voice is beginning to speak in her head, and she is tormented by a seemingly sentient and possibly trollish space Roomba. Her only hope is Scarlet, another girl who is a complete stranger and almost shot her in the head. Oh, and she has fox ears and a tail. That is possibly worth mentioning. Artemis is not a nerd. She has never heard of the isekai genre, she can't fight worth a damn, and the blue-collar skills she learned at her community college are absolutely useless in a universe where technology is often indistinguishable from magic. She only has one thing going for her: A mysterious ability to interface with highly advanced technology left behind by the Antecessors, the long lost precursor civilization with technology that no one has been able to adequately replicate. Finding herself in a universe where civilizations are locked in an interstellar Cold War, where societies are so stratified that the aristocracy commands fleets of starships while slaves wash clothes with their hands, Artemis decides to run away from it all. She has a ship. She'll find a crew. She'll find a way to make a living at the fringes of civilization, learn how to cope with danger, and survive the affections of a universe where everyone is a cute girl with animal ears and tails.
