《y/n Stark (Loki x Reader)》Chapter 28

I mentally prepared myself to see a party, but when we went to the others I found them sitting on the sofa, quite tired and a little bruised, with a few bruises.
-Hey, hi.- I greeted everyone a little disappointed that there wasn't a party -How did the mission go?-
-Hi, well enough, we were thinking of a way to enter this base.- Peter said pointing to a 3D model created by Jarvis.
-We shouldn't talk to her about the mission, Parker.- Dad said from behind.
-You could ask Jarvis to hack their system and enter their defenses, then you could enter quietly.- I said observing the structure -Or maybe enter directly from the roof.- I said looking down, a little sad that they didn't remember my birthday.
-I will not take advice from a sixteen-year-old girl.- Dad said fumbling with holograms, I saw Loki open his eyes wide.
-Seventeen...- I whispered, feeling my eyes shining and took a deep breath.
-What did you say?- Dad asked, turning around, and everyone looked at me.
-I said seventeen...- I said, raising my voice a little -I am seventeen, not sixteen. Today is my birthday.- I said with a sigh and tried to hold back the tears, he felt that everyone let out a surprised verse.
-Not possible, I'm pretty sure I know when my daughter's birthday is. Besides, Jarvis would have reminded me if it had been so.- said dad.
-If you're so sure, why don't you ask him?- I asked.
-Jarvis, what day is today?- asked dad.
-Today is your daughter's birthday, Mr. Stark. I tried to remind you this morning but you told me that you were on a mission and you didn't want to be disturbed.- replied the computer.

-I...honey I'm sorry...but I was busy with...- he said trying to justify himself.
-Yes, busy with work, I know. Work for you comes before your daughter. But it has always been like that. It's okay.- I said letting the tears flow -I don't want to talk to anyone.- I said running into my room and slamming the door.
I heard someone calling me, but I didn't turn around.
I threw myself on the bed and buried my face in the pillow, trying to cover up the sobs.
After a few seconds he heard a knock.
-Princess, it's me.- Loki said -Can I come in?-
-Yes...- I said getting up and wiping my tears, he entered and closed the door behind him.
-Hey.- He sat down next to me and put his arm around my shoulders.
-Why am I always put in second place by him? Am I not good enough as a daughter?- I asked, leaning my face against his chest.
-You are a perfect daughter, don't say that. He loves you. He just forgot. It can happen.- he said gently kissing my forehead.
-Did Odin ever forget your birthday? Or Thor's?- I asked curiously.
-Yes, sometimes but Frigga always reminded him of them.- he said, laughing slightly.
A few seconds later I heard a knock.
-It's me, Thor. Our mother is here, Loki. She wants to talk to y/n and you.- he said.
-Okay, tell her we're coming.- he stood up and held out his hand that I grabbed, then we left the tower.
I saw her there, she was with two guards.
-Dear, what happened?- She asked coming towards me -Don't tell me it was Loki.-
-No, Frigga, your son has nothing to do with it, in fact he was consoling me.-

-Okay then, anyway I came to wish you a good birthday. Loki informed me that was today. This is for you.- she smiled passing a golden package.
-Thank you very much Frigga, really, you shouldn't have.-
-Not at all dear, but now I really have to go.- the woman said.
-Thank Odin for me too and give him my sincere thanks and greetings.- I smiled.
-I'll do it my dear. See you soon Loki, say hello to Thor.-
-Okay, mother, I hope to see you again soon.- we greeted her and went back inside her, without saying anything to the others we went directly to my room.
-Your mother remembered it, but not my father.- I said with a sigh.
-Don't think about it, come on, open it.- he smiled.
I looked at the package and opened it.
Inside was a silver necklace with a blue gem at the end, like the one on the ring Loki had bought me a few hours earlier.
-It's beautiful.- I said looking at it.
-Give it to me and move your hair, I'll put it on.- Loki said and I did as he told me.
-Thank you very much Loki, really.- I said hugging him.
-I just want to see you happy.- he smiled and kissed me.
-How are we going to do for dinner?- I asked.
-I do not know. Do you want me to go get dinner and have dinner here in your room?- he asked me -Although I think it would be nice to have dinner all together on your birthday. You think about it, okay?- he smiled.
-Okay I'll think about it.- I said playing with the necklace -Jarvis, will you do me a favor? Can you soundproof my room and let me hear what they say?-
-Immediately y/n.- the computer answered me.
-How did we forget that?- Peter asked.
-I don't know, kid.- Steve said.
-She's right to be angry with us.- Nat said.
-Quiet Nat, give her a few days and everything will be as before.- Bruce consoled her.
-We're just idiots.- Thor said.
-Hey Pepper, love, hello...- I heard dad talk -I think I messed up...yes, I forgot...I know, I know...what do you think I should do? That thing? Are you sure? But...yes, of course...okay, okay, I'll do it tomorrow. Yeah...I love you too, bye. Bruce, we're gonna do it tomorrow.-
-Are you sure tomorrow?- He asked -There might still be some problems.-
-Tomorrow what, Mr. Stark?- Peter asked.
-I know, Bruce, I know. But it is the only occasion.- he replied -Tomorrow you will see it, kid.-
-Ok, Jarvis, that's enough, thanks.- I said and then I sat next to Loki -Who knows what they were talking about.- I said.
-Well tomorrow you'll find out.- he smiled stroking my hair -Do you want me to continue reading?-
-Yes, thank you very much, I would appreciate it.- I smiled and crouched next to him.

Warhammer 40,000: Mind over Matter
Set in the Warhammer 40k universe, but accessible to those unfamiliar with the setting. The Imperium of Man has been fighting the Long War for ten thousand years. It is a war fought simultaneously across thousands of stars and against innumerable enemies. On smoke-filled battlefields and in the cold emptiness of the void the military might of the Imperium stands strong in the face of horrifying foes. It is not a war fought to conquer new lands, or to seize the wealth of enemy nations. It is a war fought to hold what they have, or to regain what they have already lost. The world of Nova Iberia is far from that war and supports the Imperium by sending her finest sons to foreign stars to fight and die as elite commandos in the Imperial Guard. A chance discovery on the corpse of one of these commandos has cast doubts around the world's loyalty, and has drawn the attention of the Imperial Inquisition. The seekers of the Alien, the Heretic and the Daemon have descended upon this peaceful world, and they will not leave it intact. Primaris Psyker Amelia Lafayette was a ward of the state, now bound as an acolyte to the Inquisition in recognition of her telepathic gifts.
