《Into the Shadows》Chapter 14: The Bar

Sam refused to talk to me for the rest of the night. He had a long chat with the guys about what they believe in, but I didn't take part. I took my cot and blankets down to the end of the aisle near the altar and let them have their space. He didn't need me around to make him angry. He had every right to be angry with me after the events of the last few days.

I felt safe being alone at the other end of the aisle. I knew what to do it something happened and I didn't worry about something happening much because I knew there wasn't really anything left here. At the very least, I had harmed the spirit enough that it wouldn't bother me. Maybe the boys, but definitely not me.

I put my headphones in and played some loud music, loud enough that you could probably hear it through my headphones and tried to get some more sleep before sunrise in a few hours when we would need to clear out.

The boys tried to do some stuff while I was sleeping and they got a bit of activity with the K-II but it was nothing compared to what had happened earlier. I hoped that it gave Sam at least a bit more closure.

When we had to get up and leave in the morning, tourists were already coming through to take pictures, which was simultaneously the funniest and weirdest thing that had happened on the trip, since it was barely nine am.

Once we had cleaned everything up and packed into the car, we headed to a restaurant not far away because the boys wanted breakfast. It was already almost eleven thirty by the time we sat to eat. I didn't want to bother them since Sam still seemed upset with me, so I sat at the bar to give him some space.

"What can I get you, miss?" the guy asked.

"I'll take an English breakfast and an espresso."

"You look like you could use something a little stronger than that." the bartender joked.

"What do you recommend then?" I smiled, flirting. He was young, definitely not much older than me. It felt kind of nice to talk to someone that wasn't the guys. They all seemed kind of mad at me right now. I didn't blame them though. I was pretty mad at myself too, but I still know I did the right thing.

"Do you have to work today?"

"Nope," I popped the P, "I'm free as a bird until tomorrow."

"Try the espresso martini then."

"Its not even noon yet." I raised an eyebrow.

"It's four o'clock somewhere." he countered.

"Of course it is!" I laughed, "Alright, do your worst!"

"You got it!" he laughed, heading off to leave my order with the kitchen.

The church had been the last haunted/paranormal place on the trip, but they were still paying me to film them in London tomorrow having fun before we headed back to the good old USA.

By the time the boys were done with breakfast and their discussion, I was three and a half espresso martinis deep. I was incredibly fuzzy and tipsy, but I was still in complete control of myself... well except for my words. They kind of just flowed out like a river. I think I spilled most of my life story to the bartender. He probably didn't think I was very cute anymore.

Colby was the first one to come and talk to me. He sat beside me and started to explain.

"Do you think you can do another haunted location, Lia? Sam just had someone offer us a castle for the night. I know we already talked about this being a possibility, but we thought it had fallen through as option until now. "

"What? We're doing another one! That's just another chance for you all to get mad at me again! You said it was just going to be two and them a day of filming you guys in London! I was not planning on this! You guys are so cruel I mean come on! Are you kidding me?! Please say you're kidding!" I was taken aback, but so was he.

It was then that Colby realized I was not just drinking coffee in a cocktail glass. The slurring drawn out words would be proof enough to anyone.

"I'll be right back," he sighed and headed back off toward the guys.

"Sam, I think you might have been too hard on her." Colby didn't even bother to lower his voice.

"What do you mean?" Sam seemed confused.

"Well she's about three cocktails deep and baring her soul to anyone who talks to her."

"What?" Jake got up to get a better look at me and I waved at him but stopped pretty quick when I hit my hand on the bar top and almost started crying because it hurt so bad.

"Oh that is so not good..." Corey shook his head and put his head in his hands.

We all thought today was going to be an interesting day, but when we got in the car, I passed out and didn't wake up until we arrived at the castle we would be staying at tonight and I did not feel much more sober.
