《Star Wars EpisodeIVAU: Revival (Star Wars AU Series #2)》The Rebel Alliance Meets

Luke's POV
A while after we boarded a ship lent to us by a Nabooian pilot, the lush viridian moon named Yavin 4 came into view.
"I'm sorry about your house," the Nabooian Twi'lek pilot said under her breath.
"It's fine, Min," Mom shook her head. I was saddened to see her tear up at the thought of being away from home. I knew Naboo was her home planet and that she was queen in her teens. Of course, it made sense that she had come to love Naboo so dearly. Not to mention that she and Dad moved there after the Battle of Mustafar.
As our ship landed near the Rebel base, I saw the tall emerald green trees reaching up into the sky. Of course. This was Yavin. I learned in school that it was a jungle planet. I thought this was useless information the teachers just loved to cram into young minds.
"Just in time, Padme," Master Tano approached us as we got off the ship. "We've got a conference regarding the search for Anakin Skywalker,"
"Great," Mom nodded. "What about Luke and Leia?"
"They can come to the meeting. And I just want to say, I'm sorry about your house,"
"It's fine,"
"Min, you come too," Master Tano gestured for us to follow her.
"Yes, ma'am," Min nodded as she followed Master Tano into the Rebel base. The place was crowded with X-wings and ships galore. I must have inherited my love for ships from Dad because I almost got distracted drooling over the newest X-wing model.
"Luke, focus," Mom snapped.
"Yes, Mom," I dashed to catch up with Mom, Leia, Min, and Master Tano. The meeting room had a table that displayed holograms smack dab in the middle of things. Some familiar faces, like Ajax and Mon Mothma, were among the people there. The rest were either Rebel fighter captains or senators unknown.

"You joined just in time," Mon Mothma said once she noticed us in the entrance.
"We've got matters to discuss, Mon," Mom said as she reluctantly stepped inside the room.
"Yes, matters regarding the search for Anakin Skywalker. How do you do, Luke and Leia?"
"We're doing very well, thanks," Leia faked a smile. It wasn't hard to see that she was still devastated about the house. Of course, losing one's home can be very devastating. The sight of watching our home get engulfed in flames was enough to make me tear up.
"Who will be going with us to Tatooine to search for Anakin?" Mom questioned as she sat down.
"Well, I am leading the search party to Tatooine, Padme," Master Tano spoke up. "My Padawan, Ajax, among some others,"
"Like whom?"
"Two members of the so-called gang, Rogue One," Ajax interjected.
"Rogue One?" I questioned. What the hell was a 'Rogue One'? Nobody's ever talked about them. So what were they? I didn't recall hearing about a 'Rogue One' in History class. Just then, a woman with hazel hair and a scruffy-looking man entered the room.
"Meet Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor," Mon Mothma announced.
"We heard about your house and we're sorry to hear that," Cassian said as he shook each of our hands.
"Thanks," Mom murmured.
"I can assure you that you are in safe hands," Jyn nodded at both Leia and I.
"So who else is in Ahsoka's search party?"
"Well, we've got Mia Mircada joining us and Captain Rex as well. That will be it,"
"The Mia Mircada?" I ejaculated. I remembered hearing about Mia Mircada in History class. If I remember correctly, she helped free the people in Palpatine's death camps. Mia was friends with Mom and Dad, but she never came to visit us. Dad told me she was a Rogue Jedi who roamed the galaxy.

"Yes, the teenager who fought during the Battle of Mustafar. Well, she was a teen when the battle occurred."
"Can I go with them?" I begged. "Please, I want to see Dad again,"
"Luke, as I said, this is a dangerous matter for adults only." Mom began. "Who knows what lies ahead? You might run into Jabba the Hutt and you might digest in his stomach for a thousand years!"
"I know, I know, I know!" I groaned. Why does everybody have to go off and treat me like a child? I'm a Jedi, just like Dad...at least, before he left the Order. I can totally handle what's out there. Why do I have to stay behind? There's gotta be something out there. A cause or something I don't know much about.
Honestly, I was somewhat relieved to get off Naboo. Before today, I never left the planet. It would be interesting to be able to see the rest of the galaxy. I remember during bedtime, Dad would tell us stories of him travelling across the galaxy with Ben Kenobi and Master Tano.
"I'm sorry for my outburst," I said right before excusing myself. Adulting must really suck. I hear it's all meetings, meetings, meetings. Sounds like a lot of fun.
I was about to go explore when an unfamiliar voice called my name.
"Luke?"

Synergy
Dear Inspector, Please accept this letter as my formal resignation from being a Player. Hey! Laugh all you want, but I had to try. With no rules down here, who's to say that I can't resign? Anyway, my reasons are simple: I'm neither a gamer nor a hero. You got the wrong person for the job. Sure, the pay is decent and I could pretty much live like a king if, you know, I wasn't so busy trying to survive. I have major concerns about the demonic dagger bound to my soul too. Come to think of it, I've never asked to be transported to this fantasy land either and would like you to return me home, thank you very much. I don't want supernatural powers, I don't want to complete quests after quests, and I don't want to be your test subject anymore. What? I'm not whining, you're whining. Stop making excuses and let me leave already. Thank you for your understanding, and I hope you'll find a better replacement after I'm gone for good. Sincerely,Randel, the Mad Painter What to expect from Synergy: --> Some GameLit elements are presented subversively. If you want the protagonist to “play the game” properly, this might not be the story for you.--> No filler chapters; the story's structure is already plotted out. It's going to have six story arcs.--> Character development happens slowly, over many chapters. Don't expect a perfect protagonist right off the bat.--> Some romance, but it will never be the main focus.--> Humor and dark elements in equal measure, but not to the extent that I’d label this story as “Comedy” or “Grimdark”. ... and lots and lots of Author's Notes. See you on the other side of the portal!

To participate in the Culling, a battle-royale style tournament that’s televised live to the world, where all the worst criminals go to die. As with all tournaments, a prize is on the line. If Algier survives, he can have any wish granted by the Marquises, the new rulers of Earth following the demons’ invasion. However, there’s little hope for survival in a tournament designed to have demons do the work of the executioner, especially for a human. Demons are stronger, faster, wiser, and more talented than the average human, and, despite his crime, Algier is no demon hunter. Mentally defeated before the tournament even begins, Algier is torn between becoming another demon’s points and fighting on in his dead mother’s legacy. But should he choose to fight, there is one advantage that Algier has that can tip the odds in his favour: Demons don’t lie, but humans can. How to read this story Demons Don't Lie is written from the perspective of an unreliable (lying) narrator. There are many inconsistencies within the story which are placed there intentionally. It's up to the reader to decide what is the truth and what is the lie. Promotion Full quality cover image
