《The Beginning of the Age of Heroes》Chapter 31

The next day the team was back in Nanda Parbat and they were in the throne room kneeling before Ras. He seemed to be pleased with the job they had just completed so they were just waiting for him to give any orders that were left for him to give.
"Your group did well out there, Arrow. I do have to say that you are the best team that I have ever had work under me." Ras said.
"Thank you, Master. Is there anything else that you need from us right now?" Arrow asked.
"I want to let you know that I have taken your request that you mentioned to me before leaving on your mission. I have come to a decision." Ras said.
"And that would be?" Black Canary asked, hoping for the best but expecting the worst.
"This was a hard decision for me. On the one hand, it would be stupid for me to let go of my best team, but on the other, I have always realized that none of you ever really wanted to be here. You took to your training well, but I could tell that your hearts were not into being assassins. Because of this, I have decided to free you. You will take back your old names and your old lives. You will also always need to use the teachings of the League to make sure that the world is in balance with each other." Ras said.
"We will do this for you Master. We always planned to use our skills to help the world." White Canary said.
"Very well. You are free to go as soon as you are packed and ready for your journey." Ras said and the team stood up and left the throne room so that they could pack up and leave before the man decided to change his mind.

. . .
A few hours later, the team was at a small airport where they were renting a small plane, so that they could fly over Lian Yu and parachute down to the island. They were now in the air and getting really close to the island.
"Ok guys, are you ready for this?" Oliver asked.
"Yeah. Before we go, are you sure that the boat will be going by today?" Laurel asked.
"They are supposed to be there in a couple of hours. That will give us time to get ready." Oliver said.
"Ok. Just making sure." Laurel said.
They were now over the island so they opened the side door and got ready to jump. Soon enough they were on the island once again and now they were preparing for the boat to pick them up. Oliver and Barry put on wigs so that their hair would look like they had been on the island for years. They already had beards, but they would need fake ones as well, so that the hair was long there as well. The girls just added extensions to their hair so that it was down to their lower backs. Once they were done, they made their way to where they had made a big pile of wood years ago and waited until they saw the boat before they lit the fire.
About an hour later Barry saw the boat and Oliver lit the fire so that the boat could see it. It didn't take long for the boat to see them and turn around. 20 minutes later the team was on the boat and was getting ready to head home. The captain gave Oliver a phone so that he could make a call home.
"Hello?" Moira said as she answered the phone.

"Mom, it is me, Oliver." Oliver said.
"I don't know who you are, but don't call here again trying to do this to us." Moira said.
"Mom, it is really me. We are all alive. We were found on an island not too long ago." Oliver said.
"Oh, my sweet boy. Let us know where to meet you and we will be there." Moira said.
"The boat is going to take us to the mainland and then we will fly to Starling City, where we will all go to the hospital to get looked over. We will see you there." Oliver said.
"We will be there. I love you Oliver and be sure to tell Thea and Kara as well." Moira said.
"Love you too mom, and I will be sure to tell them." Oliver said as he hung up.
"Do you want to call your parents?" Oliver asked as he was going to hand the phone to Laurel.
"Might as well try." Laurel said as she took the phone and dialed the number.
"The number that you called is no longer in service. Please hang up and try again later." an operator said.
"Looks like the home phone is no longer in use. Do you mind if I call your mom back and see if she can get in touch with them?" Laurel asked and Oliver nodded letting her know that it was ok.
"Hello?" Moira said as she answered the phone again.
"Mrs. Queen, this is Laurel. I was wondering if you could find a way to get in touch with my parents and let them know that we are on the way home?" Laurel asked.
"I would be happy to, Laurel. I will call the precinct and let your father know." Moira said.
"Thanks Mrs. Queen. We will see all of you soon." Laurel said as she hung up and gave the phone back to the captain.
A few hours later, the boat reached land and the team then made their way to the airport so that they could catch the next plane to Starling City. They had to wait for a few hours, but that was a small price to pay to finally be back home again after all of these years. Once they were on the plane they all went to sleep because they were going to be flying for a long time. They actually all slept through most of the plane flight and were only awakened when the plane was landing.
"Well, this place is a sight for sore eyes." Thea said as she looked out of the window.
"Yes it is. Let's get to the hospital so that we can get checked out and go home." Oliver said and the rest of the team nodded in agreement as they made their way out of the airport and stopped a few cabs to take them to the hospital.

Gods How I Hate Nature
While there are always choices in life, lately they’ve all tended to skew between bad, terrible, and suicidal. Tome finds himself typically choosing the latter. As if people and plants consistently trying to kill him wasn’t bad enough, he finds himself sent off to a Mage Spire along with a self-righteous other worlder (as though there were any other kind). Add to this some powerful figures in black, a sadistic instructor, an uptight law keeper, and Tome just wants to go back to his room, down a pint, and forget about everything… But, when someone starts a fight, especially someone bigger and stronger, you bide your time and strength. Before you can get revenge, you have to settle for surviving and slowly gaining power. That means accepting the most suicidal choices, doing the jobs no one else will do, always smiling, and not slitting that other worlder’s throat… (The story will incorporate comedy, but it will be a dark story. This won't be a happy, uplifting tale, but it also won't be too morose or depressing. Though if you're rooting for the other worlders, then I suppose it will be...)
