《The Beginning of the Age of Heroes》Chapter 9

The team spent most of the next day resting because they knew that it could be a long night ahead of them when they went to attack Fyers and his men. They would come up with a plan before they left, so that everyone knew what they were going to be doing. Of course, they would be using their powers at some point during the fight because they weren't planning on this being a firefight. They would have to keep their power use to a minimum though, since Novu didn't want the teens to use their powers that much in front of other people.
It was now time for the team to get together and come up with the plan. "So, what is the plan for tonight?" Sara asked.
"I am thinking that we have enough people that we can attack from all sides. We have already destroyed their missile launcher. Now we go in and take them down. The only way for this to work though, is for all of them to die. If we allow anyone to live, they can come after us later." Slade said.
"Sounds like a sound plan. Just take them all out and finish this once and for all." Shado said.
"I like it. So, how are some of us going to get on the other side of the camp without anyone noticing?" Laurel asked.
"Well, all we need on the other side of the camp is two people, the rest will be on the sides of the camp and on this side of the camp. I say we send our fast runners to the other side. That being Kara and Barry." Oliver said.
"That makes sense. So, we have a plan. When do we put it into action?" Kara asked.
"We wait until midnight. They won't expect us to move that late, and it will also mean that most of the camp, except for the guards, will be sleeping." Slade said.
"That way we won't have to deal with as many of them at first since we will catch them by surprise." Yeo Fei said.
"Ok, so I guess we have a long time ahead of us before we go and fight. Guess that means we should rest up some more." Barry said.

"That would be the thing to do. We will need to be at peak condition when we go on the attack, so yes, we need to rest now." Shado said and all of the kids nodded as they all went to lay down and get some more sleep before the long night that was ahead of them.
. . .
It was now midnight and everyone was in position waiting for the signal to begin their attack. Slade was the one who would start things off by taking down one of the guards by shooting him and drawing fire from the other guards, while this was happening the rest of the team would enter the camp and start taking down anyone that was in their path while Slade distracted them.
"The plan seems to be working." Laurel said as she and Oliver were near each other fighting some of the men that had seen them entering the camp.
"It would work even better if we could use our powers without having to worry about being caught. I understand why Novu wants us not to use them much, but it would sure make this a lot easier." Oliver said.
"I know, but I like the fact that we will be able to take care of ourselves without them when this is all over and we're back at home." Laurel said.
"That is a plus to this situation." Oliver said as they were starting to see people exiting their tents and looking around to see what was going on.
"Looks like things are about to get fun." Laurel said and all Oliver could do was laugh as they went on the attack.
. . .
Barry and Kara were entering the camp at the same time as Oliver and Laurel and they ran into a big group of men and they looked at each other to make sure that the other was ready and they went on the attack.
"It is funny how these guys come out of their tents and they join in a big group to discuss what is going on. They are just making this easier for us." Barry said.
"I know what you mean. Not the smartest move when you are fighting for your lives." Kara said.

"So, how do you want to do this? Separate them, or keep them together?" Barry asked.
"I say we keep them together. Less chance of them trying to shoot their guns if they are close to each other." Kara said.
"That makes sense. Let's get this over with." Barry said as he and Kara went on the attack and started taking all the men down.
. . .
Thea and Sara were entering the camp from another direction and they were now face to face with about ten men. They knew that they could take the men down easily with their powers, but they wanted to try and make this look fair.
"So, how do you think we should do this?" Thea asked.
"I would say split them up and that way we would have five to fight, but it might be best to fight them together, that way they can't use their guns against us without hitting one of their own men." Sara said.
"I like it. If Oliver was supposed to be our leader, I would say that you should be." Thea said.
"I appreciate that Thea, but I don't want to be a leader." Sara said.
"That is understandable. So, how about we end this?" Thea said as both of the girls went on the attack and started taking down the ten men that were in front of them.
. . .
Shado, Slade and Yeo Fei entered the camp from the only direction that hadn't been hit yet and found what was probably twenty men waiting for them. Slade couldn't help but smile because he had been looking forward to putting a beating on these men for a while.
"I think I see Fyers at the back of the group. So, what is the plan here?" Shado asked.
"We all work together and take them down. I would like to leave Fyers for the end, so that he can see his plans fall apart before he dies." Slade said.
"I like the way you think. I think it would be funny to see his face when he finally realizes that he has lost." Shado said.
"Don't get too far ahead of yourselves. We still need to get through the men first." Yeo Fei said and Shado and Slade nodded before they all went on the attack.
. . .
Fyers now saw that all of his plans had been destroyed and took off running. He crossed paths with Oliver who called out to him.
"Fyers! Where do you think you are going?" Oliver asked.
"Well, it looks like you have learned to fight since you arrived on the island. So, what are you going to do now?" Fyers asked.
"I am going to finish this once and for all." Oliver said as he pulled an arrow out of his quiver and aimed and fired, hitting Fyers in the heart, killing him instantly.
Once Fyers was down, the team came together in the center of the camp, looking happy that they were finally done with these mercenaries. "I think we need to look around this place and see if they have any supplies that we might need since we might still be here for a while." Slade said.
"I think you are right. Let's split up and see what we can find. Meet back here in ten minutes." Oliver said and everyone left to see what kind of supplies they could find.
Ten minutes later the team met back up in the center of the camp and they were all pleased to see that everyone had found something that would be useful to them while they were still on the island.
"Ok, now that we have these supplies we should make our way back to the plane and set things up, since we will now have a better camp and be able to live easier while we are here." Slade said and everyone nodded as they all left the camp to go and set up their new camp around the plane that they had been using to sleep in.
