《The Beginning of the Age of Heroes》Chapter 6

The team was learning everything that they could from their three mentors. It had been a month since they had met Slade and he was most definitely turning all of them into the warriors that they would need to be in the future that Novu had told them about.
Oliver and Thea were becoming masters of archery while Thea was also training a lot with Slade so that she would be just as good with a sword. Oliver was also learning how to fight with a sword as well, but he wanted to be a well-rounded fighter by the time that all the team returned to Starling City, so he was training with Shado in martial arts, Yeo Fei with archery and other fighting skills, and with Slade to learn about swords and other kinds of weapons and any kind of fighting skills he might have as well.
Sara and Laurel were more into the martial arts side of things, so they worked more with Shado who was teaching everything that she knew. They knew that they would be more hands on with their fighting, so they would train in hand-to-hand combat. They would be the best martial artists in the world once they were done with their training.
Barry was learning martial arts as well, because he would need something to use if his speed stopped working for some reason, so he was with Shado for most of his training. Kara wanted to be more like Oliver and learn a lot about everything that was being taught here. She wanted to be an archer, martial artists, and proficient with and weapons that they were being taught to use. She never knew if her powers would disappear like Clark's did sometimes, so she would be prepared so that she could continue to go out in the field even if she didn't have her powers.

After training was done, Slade turned to the group of future heroes and said, "I must admit, when I first met you kids, I thought it was worthless to try and teach you anything. I thought you were all soft and would break after the first day. I am happy to say that I was wrong about that. You all have been doing well, and you are picking up everything that we are teaching you. I think that once we think we have taught you everything that we know, you kids will definitely be able to help us all get off this God forsaken island."
"Wow, Slade Wilson giving us compliments. Never thought I would see the day." Sara said with a smile.
"Don't be a smartass, Sara. I still know more than you and that means that when we train together again, I will be able to kick your ass." Slade said.
"So, when do we get off of this island anyways?" Barry asked.
"They send in supply planes every month. The next plane should arrive next week. So that is our target. We will train you kids as hard as we can until then, then we will make it to that plane and get the hell out of here." Slade said.
"I like the sound of that. I think it will be good to get back to civilization." Thea said.
"You just want your money back Speedy." Laurel said.
"So what? I want to be off this island as well." Thea said.
"Don't worry little one. We are going to get you off this island." Yeo Fei said, but the heroes knew that this would not be the case because they knew from Novu that they would be on the island for two years before they were then taken in by the League of Assassins so that they can get the rest of the training that they needed to be the heroes that they were supposed to be in the future.

"So, what do we do now? More training?" Oliver asked.
"That's right kid. That is all we have to do now. So, we will continue your training for the day and then I think that a few of us should go to the airfield and see if we can find out how many people guard it and their rotations and all those kinds of things. We will be doing that every night until it is time to take the airfield so we can see if they have any tendencies that will make them predictable that we can use against them." Slade said.
"That is actually a good idea. That way we'll know some of what we can expect." Kara said.
"Who will you be taking with you?" Laurel asked.
"I will be taking Yeo Fei, Oliver, Barry, and Kara. We will report back on what we see once we get back here." Slade said.
"What about the rest of us? Wouldn't that be a skill that we all should know? Surveillance I mean." Sara asked.
"The others will go with Yeo Fei and I tomorrow night. That way we'll know who is better at it then the others, not that it is a competition or anything like that." Slade said.
"That makes sense. I guess we should get back to our training then." Laurel said.
Oliver went and worked on his archery skills for a while, since he knew that he would be going out tonight, and they could use his archery skills if something went wrong. Kara joined him since she was trying to learn about everything just like Oliver was. Later that night the group left to go and scout out the airfield while the others stayed at camp. When they arrived at the airfield, they all found places to hide and then they all watched what was going on in front of them so that they could find patterns in the patrols and stuff like that, so that they knew where all the weaknesses were in the enemy's security. They saw what they needed, and they all headed back to camp. They would know better tomorrow after they saw if the same things happened on both nights. Once they were comfortable with what they saw, hopefully in the next couple of days, they would come up with their plan of attack that would get them off this island.

The Caring Dungeon
NOTE: I, as an 'author' am on a(n) (indefinite?) Hiatus. Without getting into too many details, the person who convinced me to write, who was my muse and my everything, is no longer in my life. I think about writing and I get physically ill and ache in ways that transcend the physical. I want to want to write, but I cannot find the energy. Life events, combined with apparently thin-skin when it comes to personal attacks on this platform, make it impossible for me. The messages, comments, and reviews I recieve(d) were so detrimental to my mental health that I've already removed one story from this website. This one remains up only because the criticisms located in this work are about my writing, and not personal attacks.I just felt like I should put something out there for anyone who is thinking about starting this story. It is not completed. I don't know that it ever will be at this point. I have lost my muse.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Not everything in this world is natural, and it's only natural to fear the unnatural. Fortunately for Manning, he was natural. Unfortunately, he found himself to be in a very unnatural state. Manning was trapped inside of a gemstone, called a dungeon core. Luckily for Manning, he found himself capable of using his newly found unnatural power to make a nature filled forest. With the help of Cara, his unnatural roommate, and Ash, his nature spirit companion, Manning dreams of covering the continent with the most beautiful and dangerous forest it has ever seen. His only other goals are to protect himself and Cara, and if he could ever remember, recover his memories. This is my first time attempting to write anything. Updates whenever I can find the energy and desire to write.

Observations of the Nameless
Sometimes the world will just whirl by without a care for its inhabitants. Each passing day bring a new experience unlike the one before it. Why do we do anything... That's a really good question, isn't it? Author's Note: Each chapter is about 300 words, so that's the reason for the short story tag even though this will be a (somewhat) ongoing series. Expect an update twice a week on Tue/Wed and on Fri/Sat. No set time, but likely afternoon or evening.
