Erica's POV
I stood by the kitchen counter cleaning the dishes. When Ifrah walked in holding some more dishes from the dinner. Today was our 2nd wedding anniversary and we had invited everyone for a dinner. Both our families had a gala time. The kids played around the entire house and both the Sheikh brothers were after them catching them around. I loved the Shaheer was with the kids. He was so great with kids. I couldnt help imagining what our family would look like.
"Why are you smiling Eri?" Ifrah asked bringing me out of my thoughts.
"No, just thinking!" i know that we had become the best of friends than sisters and i could tell her anything and everything. But i didnt know how she would react.
"About what?" she implored.
"I was just thinking that Shaheer is so good with kids and.... "
"... And you were imagining having a family with him!" she completed what i was about to say. How does she understands everything.
"Yeah!"
"You should talk to him about this. I swear you two would be great parents. "
"I dont know. I mean how will he react? What about his career? Does he really want this?"
"Come on Eri.. You see him with kids right. I can tell it by his face that he really wants it." she said. I smiled at her and made a mental note of talking about it once everyone left.
After the everyone left. I finished up all the cleaning and went to our bedroom only to see him curled up in the bed and snoring peacefully into dreams. I changed into my night dress and slipped under the duvet. He cuddled into me when he felt the bed dip beside him. He nuzzled into my neck making me feel ticklish there.

"hmm... Eri!" he said sleepily. "how much do you work! I was waiting for you!"
"Why were you waiting? Why arent you sleeping by now? Dont you want to go to shoot tomorrow?"
"you are such a great wife.. a great daughter... a great sister and i know you will be the best mother!" he said making me go confused. He said what i wanted him to say all these days.
"what are you talking about?"
"I heard you talking to ifrah. Ofcourse i want a family with you... Why would you think that i dont?" he said placing a passionate kiss on my lips.
"I love you!"
"I love you more!"

Some might call what Gary and his co-workers are about to get involved in to protect humanity from a world whose borders with other realities are fraying at the edges, incredible and perhaps even insane.
