"Amir stop it!" Naala screamed as he trashed their bedroom. When he came home, anger took over him.

"Naala move before I break your fucking neck," Dave breathed heavily.

"He's your son, he'll always be yours," Naala cried,

"You really made me believe that was my son for 6 years?" Dave asked in disbelief, "You hate me that much?"

"I didn't lie to you, I've never lied to you," Naala replied walking closer to him.

"Is he my son, yes or no?" Dave questioned looking at her.

"I don't know," Naala cried. "I think he is but I-I don't know now," Her head was scrambled, she couldn't think straight.

"Yeah Naala get the fuck out of my way," Dave shook his head. "6 fucking years Naala,"

"Wait Amir please just listen to me," Naala said holding her hands out. "I'm telling the truth I don't remember," She admitted. She started to cry profusely and rub her forehead,

"I don't remember," Naala sobbed. "I don't understand what's happening right now, everything is hazy - I can't think straight," Saint's accident triggered something in her.

"You've been taking your meds?" Dave huffed, angry or not this was still his wife.

"I think so," Naala sniffed. She started pacing and mumbling incoherent words.

"Love sit down," Dave sighed throwing his bag to the floor.

"No you're gonna leave me but I need you, I can't do this without you," Naala sobbed.

"Is he my son?!" Dave shouted making her jump. Her crying was making him angrier.

"I don't know Amir," Naala replied with tears streaming down her face.

" You're really gonna sit up here and tell me you don't know if he's my son Naala?" Dave's voice cracked.

"Every one is confusing me," Naala muttered, "Saint needs you right now so can you just go back to the hospital,"

"The bloods didn't match," Dave shouted at her. He walked over to her and grabbed her by her arms shaking her.

"Naala wake up!" He screamed in her face. He searched her face for any sign that Naala was still there but she wasn't. Her eyes were glazed over and it was clear she was having an episode.

"Where the fuck are those pills?" Dave said letting go of her and looking around the room.

"You keep asking me questions I don't know answers to," Naala sniffed. "Why are we even here, let's go back to the hospital,"

"So you don't know who you fucked before Saint was born?" Dave chuckled. "Is Phat even mine?"

"Don't say that," Naala cried. "They're your children, why would I lie?"

"But you keep saying you don't know?" Dave responded,

"I don't know anything right now Amir, what's wrong with me," Naala mumbled the last part. She remembers taking her pills, Gregory gave them to her every morning.

"Okay calm down," Dave sighed pulling her into a hug. "Naala you know I hate shouting at you but tell me the truth,"

"I am telling you the truth!" Naala cried. "But it's hard because — it's floating around my head —- I can't think,"

"You've not been taking your meds love," Dave said lowly. "Show me where you've been putting them,"

"I've been taking them, why does everyone think I'm lying all the time?" Naala said getting out of his grip. She closed her eyes and hummed shaking her head.

"No one ever believes me," She said opening her eyes,

"I believe you," Dave lied. That was the only way he would keep her calm.

"You do?" Naala's eyes lit up with hope. "So you believe Saint is yours?"

"Yeah," Dave lied again, it was obvious Saint was not his son, DNA doesn't lie.

"Good," Naala breathed out. Dave could tell she was calming down. "Can we go now?" She added.

"Not till you tell me the truth Naala," Dave mumbled. Naala shook her head,

"Don't make me say it," Naala whispered,

"He's not mine is he?" Dave said tears in his eyes. Naala shook her head,

"I don't know," Naala cried holding onto his shirt. Naala never thought that this would come out, she prayed it never came out.

"Who was it?" Dave asked, his anger bubbling inside him.

"I think it was Gray," Naala wailed finally telling him a secret she's been holding for years, "I don't know, I can't remember," Naala repeated.

"So you knew the whole time?" Dave mumbled,

"He's still your son Amir," Naala responded with tears falling from her face. "You're the only father he knows," Naala stepped forward.

"Naala don't come any closer," Dave laughed, he was about to kill her.

"Amir please stop it," Naala cried, when she tried to step closer, Dave did the unthinkable. He lifted his hand and slapped her face.

"You stupid bitch!" He shouted grabbing her by her neck. He wrapped his hands around her neck tightly and squeezed.

Naala clawed at his hands trying to get free but his grip only got tighter.

"Dave let her go," Naleli said coming into the room. She was calm even though she knew he could kill her right there.

"He's not my son Naleli," Dave grunted tightening his grip. Naala's eyes started to close as she struggled for breath.

"Dave if you don't let her go I'm gonna have to kill you," Naleli said stepping into the room further.

Dave ignored her, Naala's struggles were become less present and Naleli got scared.

"Let her go!" Naleli ordered loudly and Dave grunted taking his hands from her throat. Naala dropped to the floor spluttering and crying.

When she dropped to the floor, Dave realised what he had done and tried to help her up.

"Get away from me," Naala shuffled across the floor away from him.

"I didn't mean —"

"You hit me Amir," Naala sobbed, "Y-you hit me,"

"You hit her when you know she's not in the right mental state?" Naleli spoke up walking over to Naala.

"She's not making fucking sense, one minute he's my son and the next he's not," Dave shouted at her.

"Can't you see she's not okay?" Naleli snapped. Naala was still on the floor crying but she was rocking back and forth talking to herself.

"That's his son," Naala repeated to herself. Naleli sighed and looked at Dave,

"Where do you keep her pills?" She asked him,

"Ion keep them anymore, she said she was fine taking them on her own,"

"Shit," Naleli cursed. "Naala where are they?" Naleli asked putting her hand on Naala's shoulder.

"That's his son Leli," Naala wailed to her sister. "I wouldn't lie,"

"I know you wouldn't," Naleli said softly. "But right now you're not you, tell Leli where they are,"

"Naleli you're wasting your time," Dave said sitting down on the bed.

"You shut up," Naleli pointed at him. "You put your hands on her,"

"She sat in front of me and told me that's not my son," Dave said looking at Naala who was still crying by Naleli's feet.

"She doesn't know what she's talking about Dave," Naleli defended,

"Watch," Dave said sitting forward, "Naala is Saint mine?"

"I don't know," Naala replied, "I can't remember," Naala started to cry harder and pull at her hair.

"You're stressing her out," Naleli spoke. Dave sucked his teeth and walked towards the door.

"Mine or not I still care about him. I'll be at the hospital," With that Dave left the room, leaving the twins together.

"I wouldn't lie Leli, I wouldn't lie," Naala cried holding onto her sister.

"Just tell me where they are," Naleli sat beside her on the floor.

"Gregory keeps them, I think," Naala sniffed. Naleli's brain started to tick,

"He's been messing with them," Naleli said to herself. She looked down at Naala who had her head in Naleli's lap.

"Do you see him take them out?" She asked Naala,

"I can't remember," Naala cried into Naleli's lap. "I just want to be better Leli,"

"I know," Naleli mumbled running her hand through Naala's hair. "I'm gonna make it right don't worry,"

Naleli meant that, she was angry, angry that people were messing with her baby sister.

Dave sat by Saint's bedside listening to the various beeps of all the machines he was hooked up on. He watched as Saint's chest moved up and down slightly, making him feel at ease that he was breathing fine.

This was his son, no matter what the results said but Dave couldn't imagine Naala would do him like that.

"You've been here all night, maybe we should leave," Tommie said from beside him.

"This is my son, I'm not leaving him," Dave mumbled holding Saint's hand.

"Well the results said otherwise," Tommie replied. Dave side eyed her,

"I never told you about any results," Dave responded. Tommie's heart started to beat faster as she tried to think of a lie,

"I overheard the doctors talking about it," She rushed out. Dave nodded, his main focus wasn't her it was Saint.

The door opened and Naleli and Naala walked in. Naala was wearing big dark sunglasses and was dressed down in a sweater and leggings. She had Malia on her hip who immediately started to wriggle when she saw her dad.

"Who are you?" Naleli asked Tommie who was still sitting beside Dave. Naala ignored them both, walking up to Saint's bedside.

"I'm Tommie," Tommie smiled holding her hand out to shake. Naleli looked at her and then at her hand.

"It's not even been 24 hours and you've already got another bitch in here," Naleli squinted at Dave. Dave sucked his teeth and lifted Malia up onto his lap.

"Don't curse around her," Dave said to Naleli who chuckled dryly.

"Don't bring random bitches around my nephew then," Naleli snapped back.

"Leli please," Naala said quietly. Her voice was hoarse from all the crying she had done the night prior. Tarek pulled a chair for Naala to sit and she sat by Saint, hugging his small body.

"Mommy's here," Naala said softly with tears running down her face. "Why isn't he awake?" Naala asked nobody in particular.

"Why won't he get up?" Naala sobbed holding onto his body. Dave got up and put Malia on his seat and walked over to her,

"He's gonna be okay," Dave said softly taking her off of him.

"Don't touch me," Naala flinched from his touch, "I don't want you to touch me,"

"You think I'm gonna hurt you?" Dave asked with a hurt expression.

"Get out," Naleli said directly to Tommie. "I don't know why you're in here but get out," She added. She could see Naala was about to start going off and strangers didn't need to see that.

"I'm not leaving unless he tells me to go," Tommie commented.

"Bitch —" Naleli said reaching for her purse, Tarek stopped her and gave her a look.

"Go with her, you don't need to be here," Naala pushed Dave in the direction of the door.

"He's my son," Dave protested,

"Oh now he's your son?" Naala replied wiping her face. "I wanna be alone with him, Tarek can you get everyone out?"

"Damn right he's my son." Dave nodded at Tarek, "Give us a moment,"

"Touch her and you're dead," Naleli pointed at him. Everyone filed out of the room, leaving Dave and Naala in the room.

"You put your hands on me," Naala cried, "You promised you would never do that again, you're just like him," Dave knew exactly who she was talking about and that made his heart break.

"I was angry," Dave defended, he tried to come closer to Naala but she scooted away.

"But you know that Saint is yours!" Naala shouted. "I have never lied to you, not about something this big," Naala sobbed.

"Love stop crying," Dave mumbled, hearing her cry was breaking him apart.

"I'm scared of you," Naala admitted, "I've never been scared of you till today Amir, I don't want you anywhere near me,"

Naala took her sunglasses off to wipe her face. Her right eye had a small cut beneath it,

"I did that?" Dave said holding her face. Naala slapped his hand down,

"What don't you understand? Get out," She said facing Saint.

The door swung open once again and in walked the doctor with a familiar figure behind him.

"You called Gray," Naala said in disbelief, Gray stepped into the room with a apologetic look on his face.

"What else did you want me to do?" Dave shrugged. Naala bit her lip and slid her glasses back on.

"I wasn't a match," He announced making Dave sigh in relief, glad that Gray was not his father.

"So what happens now?" Naala asked after clearing her throat.

"I take it you've been unable to locate his father?" The doctor said with a smug look.

"This is his father!" Naala snapped. "So run those tests again,"

"I think what you need is a DNA test," He said quietly but Naala still caught it.

"Who's your boss? I'm not dealing with you anymore and you damn sure aren't dealing with my son," Naala replied, there was something fishy about this hospital that she didn't like.

"I want the DNA test," Dave spoke up making Naala turn her head towards him. "Gray you're taking the test aswell,"

"No he's not," Naala answered. "Amir don't play with me,"

The doctor who was being paid to fulfill this role, now began to stutter. The first blood he took was a match but after being paid to say it wasn't, he didn't think they would request a DNA test.

"I don't wanna cause any problems," Gray said holding his hands up.

"We're doing the test, go and arrange that," Dave said to the doctor. The doctor scurried out of the room, unsure of what to do. Naala lifted up her glasses and stared directly at her husband.

"You're really gonna test to see if he's yours?" Naala's voice cracked. "As if you haven't hurt me enough,"

"Stop the sob story Naala, I don't trust you anymore," Dave replied. Gray stood awkwardly behind them, if Saint was his son then he would step up but kids were never in the plan for him.

"You're a disgusting person," Naala spat. "A truly disgusting man. I've stuck by you, through everything. When you cheat, I stay, when you hurt me, I stay. And now you can't trust me?" Naala voice was getting louder with every word.

"I never asked you stay," Dave replied angrily, "You chose to do that and you claimed it was for our kids. Who knows if they're even mine?"

"Do you know what?" Naala sneered. "I hope Saint isn't yours, I pray that his father isn't such a weak lowlife like you,"

Without even thinking, Dave backhanded her face making Gray step forward.

"Come on man you can't hit her like that," Gray said pushing Dave away from Naala.

Naala touched her lip and felt blood drip onto her finger. He had busted her lip,

"I'm not gonna let you keep putting your hands on me Amir," Naala teared up, she wouldn't think he would hit her more than one.

"This happened before?" Gray questioned her. "I think you should leave," He said directly to Dave. One thing he didn't like was men that hit women. Regardless of what she said, she didn't raise her hand to hit him.

"No," Naala said wiping her lip. "Thank you Gray but I can handle it from here,"

"You sure?" Gray asked looking between her and Dave. Dave was sitting back down with his head in his hands by Saint.

"Mmm, he's my husband," Naala answered quietly. Gray wanted to ask how that changed anything but he wasn't going to argue with her, if she liked being hit on then who was he to try and save her - once again.

Gray nodded and left the room. Dave lifted his head up and looked at her.

"You know I don't like hitting you," Dave mumbled,

"Then stop doing it." Naala responded. "I'm not your punching bag, I've dealt with that with you before and now all of a sudden you think we're back to that,"

"I wasn't myself then," Dave quickly defended. When Dave's drinking was really bad he sometimes resorted to taking his anger out on Naala. Like the loving woman she was and still is, she swept it under the carpet and stayed with him.

"That's no excuse," Naala said in response. "Now you've done it in front of somebody - that's embarrassing," She whispered, her tears falling freely.

"And then you sit there and ask for a DNA test for our son!" Naala cried harder. "Our son that I almost died delivering, our son that spent the first 2 month of his life in a NICU, while I cried myself to sleep every night,"

"Stop," Dave said knowing that she wasn't going to,

"No but you want a test right? You want to ruin the only good thing we have," Naala pointed at him.

"What do you expect me to do Naala?" Dave whisper yelled. "Tell me huh?"

"No back up," Naala said when he got up and started making his way over to her. "You're in my personal space," She huffed as he got closer.

"I can't be in your personal space?" Dave questioned her.

"Not when you can't keep your hands to yourself," Naala pointed out. "If you hit me again, I'll get Tarek back in here,"

"You've never had a problem with someone hitting on you before," Dave shrugged. "Maybe it's even his kid, who the fuck knows,"

"Why do you always have to fight dirty?" Naala cried. "You claim you love me but you make it a point to hurt me all the time,"

"Okay I'm sorry," Dave sighed. One thing he hated was when Naala was off her meds. You didn't know which Naala you was going to get. It could be emotional Naala that believes the world is against her, or the super crazy Naala.

Today it was clear that it was the emotional Naala that had come out to play.

"No you're not," Naala sniffed moving back. "If you don't believe he's your son then why are you still here?"

"Stop crying mama I'm sorry," Dave said again putting his arms around her. "I'm not gonna hit on you anymore, you don't deserve that,"

Naala cried into his chest, knowing that he didn't mean that. He rubbed her back softly and kissed her cheek,

"We don't have to do the test either," Dave said into her hair. "He's mine, I know that now,"

A knock sounded on the door and the doctor walked in. He had an apologetic look on his face and was sweating bullets.

"Uh there seems to have been a mistake," He stuttered. "The - The first bloods taken we-were a match,"

Dave clenched his jaw and stared back at him. He possibly could have just ruined his marriage over nothing. Naala closed her eyes and opened them, a wave of relief washing over her.

"The transfusion will start immediately," The doctor added. Even though Naala wasn't a hundred percent there, she could sniff a rat out anywhere - someone had been playing them.

~~

"You're sure this is the house?" Naala questioned Tarek as she sat forward in the car.

"Positive," He replied turning back to face the girls. "How would you like to proceed Princess?"

"How about we have some fun first?" Naleli smiled looking at the house.

"Perfect," Naala matched her smile. "I couldn't think of anything better,"

The twins shared a look before the driver opened the door for them to leave the vehicle. They walked up to the door and Naala knocked.

The woman opened the door with a smile but as soon as she set her eyes on the Simmon twins her soul left her body.

"Naleli," She greeted shakily, "And I assume your Naala, my husband speaks very highly of you,"

"I'm sure he does," Naala smiled brightly, her smile almost blinding the woman in front her. Naleli chuckled and pushed the door open.

"Going somewhere?" Naleli asked looking around the house that was filled with moving boxes.
