《Wait 4 Me (mxb) - COMPLETED》Chapter 17

"Fuck you, Jeff, it's not funny", I mumble as I put my phone on the bedside table before heading for the bathroom. "I've bookmarked three movies, go ahead and pick one. I'll be right back."
"Oh no, I'm good. I think I've seen more than enough for one evening. But damn, I'd almost forgotten how huge your dick is", Jeff replies with a huge grin.
I roll my eyes and leave the bedroom. I can't believe how worked up Jimmy got me just with his words... I've never been one for dirty talk... or fantasies... or sex for that matter... but fuck, the mere thought of Jimmy makes my heart do flips, puts a smile on my lips, sends way too much blood to my dick. Damn, kid.
I finish up in the bathroom and put a pair of thin sweatpants on for the night. I don't own pyjamas but I won't sleep naked like I usually do, even though I'm sure Jeff would be the last to object.
Jeff is already curled up under the duvet when I get into the bed and turn of the light.
"Lexy...?"
"Hmm?"
"Can we cuddle? I... I guess I'm just really nervous for tomorrow... I think it'd help me relax... please?"
"Sure J, anything for you", I chuckle as I shuffle around to take him in my arms.
Jeff lets out a contented sigh and soon enough, his slow and deep breathing tells me he's well and truly passed out from exhaustion. Poor baby.
I should probably do the same... tomorrow's going to be a loooooong day.

I wake up with the sun shining right in my face. Who the fuck forgot to shut the curtains? Jeff is still fast asleep, curled into my side with his head on my chest.
"Wakey, wakey, groom-to-be", I whisper whilst giving his shoulder a soft shake. No reaction. I check my phone and we're still doing fine in terms of time... provided that we actually do get up now. I try again, quite a bit louder this time. Right, sorry Jeff, but I'm gonna have to play dirty if you don't wanna wake up.
"Oh God, Jeff, we're late for your wedding, we should already be at the church", I shout close to his ear. He shoots out of bed and crashes onto the floor with a string of curses. I can't hold back my laughter as he glares at me after checking the time. "You're such a shit, Lex! It's only 9am. We have another four hours before we even have to leave the hotel! Fuck you!", he screams at me. I'm howling. He eventually starts shaking his head and laughing too.

"Let's throw some clothes on and get breakfast. I checked their menu online and they have a massive brunch buffet that sounds absolutely lush. We can shower and start getting ready when we get back". Best idea I've had all day, methinks.

"I can't breathe, Lexy! And I'm going to be sick! And I'm going to have a heart attack! Fuck, Lexy, I can't do this! Get this fucking tie off me! This suit is too tight!" If Jeff was a bundle of nerves since breakfast, he is definitely trending towards nuclear meltdown right now.
"Jeff, listen to me! Firstly, you're gonna be just fine! Today is your big day and it's going to be fucking perfect! And even if it isn't, remember that you're marrying the love of your life - and all of your friends and family get to share this beautiful and memorable day with you. Secondly, I'll be with you each step of the way... well, until you go home with your wife tonight, then you're on your own, big boy. Lastly, yes, please, let's lose these fucking ties!"
My words seem to calm him down and I eventually even get a tentative smile out of him. I've never seen him like this... Jeff, Mr Forever-In-Your-Face, Mr Loud-And-Proud, Mr Uber-Confident himself, reduced to a bundle of nerves.
We get to the church and, just as I promised him, everything goes smoothly. Jen looks absolutely breathtaking as she glides down the aisle, their wedding vows are beautifully cheesy but sweet, Danny and his mum spend the entire ceremony holding hands, looking all teary-eyed, whilst Kelly (who graciously agreed to be my +1) spends the entire time making silly faces trying to make me laugh. Crazy lady. Luckily for me, she doesn't succeed.
The wedding reception in the park right next to the church runs drama-free as well, despite many of Jeff's colleagues getting horrendously drunk. Thankfully, we'll be rid of them soon, as the wedding dinner and after-party are for relatives and a few close friends only... and, more importantly, at a dufferent location. That was their biggest compromise for this wedding. Jeff could have his fuck-off massive wedding reception if Jen could have her small and intimate wedding meal and party at a more private little place in the evening.
Finally, 7pm. We're heading to the dinner and party venue for the evening, just a five-minute walk away from the church. I've yet to see Jimmy, even though I've been keeping an eye out for him all day. Unless... no... he wouldn't give the wedding a miss because of our call last night, right? Because I left him hanging (OK maybe hanging isn't the right word), just as our call was getting really... ugh, thanks brain! You're gonna make me look like an idiot now, walking around with a boner at my best friend's wedding.

"You OK, Lexy? Come on, it's nearly over", Kelly giggles into my ear. I'm glad she agreed to be my date for today all those months ago, even though she and Jeff have never been close. I'd even go as far as to say that they rather strongly dislike each other. Kelly doesn't trust Jeff and has been trying to convince me for years that he is madly in love with me. Crazy lady. And Jeff just really dislikes Kells but has never really told me why. They will just about tolerate each other's presence for my sake when it comes to stuff like my birthday parties... or indeed, a big event like today. I'm still glad Kel agreed to be my moral support for the day. Somehow, I knew I'd need her calming presence after babysitting Jeff for almost 24 hours straight.
The meal is awesome. Of course, being organised by Jen's own catering firm, it was bound to be absolute perfection. I've also finally caught a glimpse of Jimmy at the far end of the table and fuck it he doesn't look exceptionally stunning in his suit and cute bowtie. He is sitting next to Danny, surrounded by lots of Jeff and Danny's younger cousins, whereas I am sitting on the other side, between Jeff and Kelly. My best man's speech earlier got a standing ovation as well. I did my part to embarrass both groom and bride, I'd dug up some hilarious anecdotes and made a tiny video with a good mix of cute and, well, not so cute photos of the couple. All good. Everybody laughed. Especially Jeff, who at that point was already drunk off his ass. Sorry Jen, doubt you'll be getting any tonight. No way he's getting it up with more alcohol than blood pumping through his veins. Ah well.
"I'm just popping to the loo, don't hit the dance floor without me", Kel whispers in my ear as she excuses herself from the table. I turn around to ask Jeff when he's doing his first dance with Jen but he's left the table as well. Nevermind then...
"Hey boss, brilliant speech earlier!"
"Thanks, Mikey. You having a good time? You're here with Jeff's old basketball friend, yeah?" God, I know he told me this ages ago but I'm not gonna lie, he tells me so much stuff at the shop every day, I barely register a third of what he says. Bad boss. Ah well.
"Yeah, Pete. Tall, dark and sexy over there with the red shirt and white tie. Anyways, I'll see you on the dance floor later, boss."
I smile and give him a small wave as he walks off again. The dining hall is getting noisier as people are finishing their meal and chatting more again.
I look towards the other end of the table and see that Danny and Jimmy aren't there anymore either. Most of the younger guests have migrated towards the outdoor dancefloor, obviously waiting for the newly-weds' opening dance. Which reminds me... where the fuck is Jeff at? I look around again but can't spot him anywhere.
Suddenly, Danny barges in and runs towards me with a worried look on his face. "Lexy, it's Jimmy... he... I don't know what happened... I came from the bathroom and I just saw him running off, back towards church I'm guessing", Danny manages between heavy pants. "He looked super upset, Lex. I... your friend Kelly told me to get you. You need go after him. I'm sorry, I don't know what happened. Just go. I'm worried about him".
I look at him, confused, but I don't hesitate for a second. I jump off my chair and start running. On the way out, I almost crash into Kelly who looks super pissed off. And her knuckles are bleeding.
"Kel, what the fuck is going on? And what happened to your fucking hand?"
"Oh, you should see the other guy... oh, and speaking of which, Jeff is a massive cunt, that's what's going on. Go after Jimmy, now! Go!"
I clench my jaw and start running... Jimmy, I don't know where you are or what happened, but you'd fucking better be OK...

RE: DEVTHOR
From a certain author's perspective, the world he lived in had always been a boring uninteresting place. If asked if he could name one good thing about it, he probably couldn't. Up until forty, he lived in complete isolation and solitude, but he never once regretted or felt dissatisfied about the kind of life he lived. But despite being content with such a lifestyle, it seems some god... or perhaps some busybody devil galavanting about playing pretend god was immensely dissatisfied with the way he lived his life and wanted to play a sick joke on him by sending him back to his first day in high school after he died a mysterious death. Approached by a suspicious red-haired girl shortly after awakening and recognizing where he was, he's abruptly given a second chance at a youth filled with romance. But what does this forty years old man turned sixteen do when confronted with youth? He flips youth off and tells it to take a hike, he's having none of it. If there was some sort of godly existence watching over him from somewhere unknown, their only natural reaction would be to facepalm and question what was wrong with this incompetent romanceless idiot who knew nothing of love. Low fantasy only really starts to appear around volume 3. Presently there are 7 volumes for this series totaling about 850k words.
